Bland, tasteless "spicy" wings. Where's the sauce? Where's the flavor? Absolute disgust!
Steff S.

DO NOT EAT HERE! There's a reason the rating is god awful. I tried to give them a chance and all I got was disrespect, pushy terrible service (actually lack of any) and greasy tasteless food! I waited over 25 minutes for some "spicy chicken wings" that should only take 10 minutes to cook if that. I came home with the order to open a greasy box of fried sauce-less wings with no spice or flavor whatsoever! I called the restaurant to explain my frustrations and all the lady did was argue! I asked for a refund and she hung up on me. I called back and they hung up again. Is that how you operate a business? Disgust, disrespect, and bland food? Let me tell you..the customer is NOT always right but you should try to respect their opinion. We are not children at your dinner table. If you want to try some bland Chinese food brought to you by the worst service in the East Valley by all means pull up a chair to this hole in the wall. I'm sure their doors will be closing soon.

I have been coming here since I was little. My family always get take out. The food is always so good and always made to order. Today I ate in and the store is basic but really clean and refreshing. They have a cute fish tank that is also really clean. The TV isn't overly loud and they have the news playing, which is nice. Best Chinese food in Gilbert! I got the orange chicken combo with a large drink for less than $9.00!! Amazing.

Metal scrap in food

Been coming to this place for a few years, I knew the previous owner and they recently changed ownership. I've been nervous to come in, and rightfully so. I came in for lunch today and I was interested by the new decor and the friendliness of the cashier, but after ordering I realized the decoration wasn't all that changed. We ordered 2 lunch combos and got charged full dinner pricing. I noticed the prices were higher than listed on the menu and the cashier said "we don't do lunch on weekends"....however the menu clearly states otherwise. But ok, a few extra bucks I guess. Then we asked for a large lemonade, she apparently charged us 2 and claims that's what we asked for when we stated (after paying) that we only wanted the 1. Then, we took most of the food back home and found a small piece of metal in my girlfriends food. Don't think we'll ever be back, cool decor or not

Must be new owners. Changed atmosphere for the better but my favorite Chinese spot is gone. Not on the same level. Sorry

It was really good food. The guy who served us was nice and pleasant. We got it to go and the orange chicken was very good.

I love the fast, friendly service. My favorite is the house fried rice! They serve generous portions. I usually order then takeout.

Dirty restaurant. Last time I went, my food all smelled and tasted fishy. They do have good portion sizes.

I had ice tea and wife ordered the blood orange jenny drink; both were great and refreshing! I also ordered a loaf of their warmed sourdough and butter to share with the table. Almost like being in San Francisco! For dinner we decided to share a couple of things; the crab cakes, which comes with fried avocado and some of the best aioli for dipping. The cakes themselves are big and full of crab with just the right amount of filling to create a decadent and moist cake! We also shared the seared jumbo scallops...High Tides knows how to cook scallops to the best! So yummy and tender and perfectly cooked with that crispy outer and the soft, creamy inside. We also shared a Caesar salad and one of the things we love about this place...ask and you can get some fresh anchovy on the side to add to the salad. Wife always asks for more lemon as well to drizzle over the salad. Overall a fantastic dinner for us and everyone with us!

Could Pier 88 be my new favorite local spot for seafood boil???…read more Yes... yes it is! We ordered three pounds of head-on shrimp. Spice level was medium and went with the 88 Special seasoning (a combination of cajun, garlic butter, and lemon pepper) - AMAZING flavor!! Perhaps my favorite aspect was that their seasonings were not overly salty - I feel that most other seafood boil restaurants just include way too much salt in their seasonings... but at Pier 88, you can really indulge without feeling like you're going to end up with high blood pressure! Extras included corn, sausage, and potatoes... and those were all delicious as well! I couldn't have been happier with this meal... so I will definitely return again soon! Being celiac, I did not have to worry about gluten being in anything we ordered! Overall rating: *****FIVE STARS***** Gluten-free rating: *****FIVE STARS*****

This place looked like it did a good seafood boil and was located near where our hotel was. Upon entering we were greeted and sat right away. He ordered a shrimp basket while I ordered my usual snow crab. Heads up, all the supplies will be brought in the bottom of the discard bucket like gloves, lemons, and crab crackers. I wasn't aware of this, and placed all the discarded items on top of it while eating bareheaded as I didn't see supplies, and no one was around to ask. Usually places will bring on the side, and I wish I was told that in advance when it was brought to the table. It made for quite the mess, but if we return I'll know for next time. Once our server returned to check in after 10+ minutes that's when we were advised, and I adjusted though I had put my boil bag in there so most had been soiled. As for the food, he liked his shrimp while I thought the crab was okay in flavor/spice. It didn't really standout out like other places I've been to recently, but overall I would return if I was in the area.

The location has a quaint, house-style feel with beautifully manicured grounds. The large doors were open, allowing a lovely breeze to flow through, a welcomed touch. There's also a convenient parking lot right next door, which was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant offers a variety of seating options: outside patio, high-top outdoor seating, inside bar seating, and traditional indoor dining. We arrived in that sweet spot between lunch and happy hour, so the restaurant was quiet and relaxed, exactly how we like it. Drinks My Blue Hawaiian ($15) was absolutely amazing, it really hit the spot, and I was still feeling great when we left! My husband ordered the Pizza Port Chronic ($5) and said it was a nice, refreshing change of pace. Our Server Andrew Andrew greeted us immediately, walked us through both the food and drink menus, and was genuinely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He was the highlight of our visit. Exceptional service. Appetizer Butter Board & Bread We started with the Butter Board ($14), served with toasted bread. The butter itself, whipped with ricotta, herbs, and what I believe was a honey drizzle, was absolutely delicious. My only note is that the bread edges were toasted a bit too dark for my taste, leaving a slightly burnt crust flavor and aroma. Entrées I ordered the Seared Scallops ($48), which were plated with white potatoes, purple potatoes (possibly ube), and sausage over a rich sauce. Unfortunately, the purple potatoes had a burnt taste that was off-putting, and I wasn't able to finish much of my meal. My husband, on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed his Grilled Striped Bass ($48), beautifully plated and well-executed. Final Thoughts While my entree missed the mark this visit, Andrew's outstanding service and the overall ambience more than carried the experience. The space is gorgeous, the concept is lovely, and I can absolutely see returning when the seasonal menu refreshes. In my opinion, it's worth a second chance, we will be back.

The restaurant is lively, but you receive your order quickly and perfectly. Our waiter Chase took great care of us and offered suggestions and descriptions about the food. Chris came by to make sure everything was to our liking and to wish me a happy birthday. We all had a great time, a great meal and did not feel like they were trying to rush us out of the door. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for the freshest seafood, steaks, and even hamburger.

We arrived around 6:15 for our priority seating reservation, which wasn't until 630 but considering we didn't know what parking would be like we wanted to ensure we were there on time. We waited outside the restaurant since it was pretty crowded on the inside waiting space, they had cool water chugs for those of us not wanting to order a drink while we were waiting. Our table was ready around the same time for our reservation, and we were waited on attentively upon sitting down. I believe our waiter's name was Lorenzo, we had expressed that this was our first time and we also were wanting to try oysters for the first time so he gave us good recommendations on which one would be a good fit for us. We ended up trying this sweet Jesus oysters, and of course I am not a fan, but my husband was willing to give it another shot another day. I think one of the biggest positives about it being a mostly seafood base restaurant as it doesn't smell like a seafood restaurant normally does, the environment aspires to be romantic. However, the noise level really makes it difficult to hear whoever you're with. My husband was sitting literally shoulder to shoulder with me, and I struggled immensely to carry on meaningful conversation because of competing with other tables noise levels. The fish was cooked to perfection and the lemon butter sauce was to die for, the broccolini was delicious as well. My husband enjoyed his fish however he did say that for the price we paid for the fish he thinks the fillet should've been bigger. He also enjoyed his asparagus side. They were able to arrange the sign to say happy anniversary to us, I just don't have the picture since it's on my husband's phone. We celebrated the end of our dinner experience with a slice of chocolate cake, which was so delicious, and the pistachio gelato. Overall, it was a good dining experience, but it will definitely be a while before we return due to it being a more pricey dining option as well as the loud environment. * side notes: *parking is valet, only which is complementary, if you don't have cash, your valet attendant can take Venmo as a tip form. *Bathrooms are extremely clean, men and women, but women's has only two stalls so you may be waiting a while.
