I've been using these folks for two years and it so far it's worked out great. They always have stuff done on time, and it's always immaculate. They open at 7AM so I can get there early to drop off and pick up stuff. They have a convenient driveway where you can pull in and park that's very handy. Only problem I had so far was that an alteration to shorten the sleeves of a new Brooks blazer ended up costing $25. I thought that was high but if I'm living the the 90's please ignore this last comment. :) read more

I was looking for a 'green' cleaners and found this place near my house. So far they have been great...I typically just do your average dry cleaning but I recently had my favorite jacket relined and they did an excellent job. I really wanted to like this place. I have only gone there twice and have returned home to discover 3 items still having stains on them. Two of the three items I even initially pointed out the stains needing to be removed. (Two items were men's dress shirts, and one was our bed cover). I'm very disappointed as I was very excited to use a place without the usual toxins. read more

Finally got a hold of the manager. It was difficult to determine a price since it was a tailored shirt. I didn't get what I was looking for, but I could tell he was attempting to meet me halfway. I appreciated the effort and we managed to settle on an amount for a refund. All of the other things I dropped off were returned without damage and I liked how they were cleaned. It was definitely an unpleasant experience arguing over a shirt that had been damaged, but the manager was reasonable. I realize accidents happens so I'm hoping that this was an isolated incident. They use CO2 which is a very safe way to clean garments and a very expensive process for them to run. It also can ruin some garments. especially synthetics. So always ask about your garments. As far as the chemicals used at most cleaners they are not banned in other countries but in two states CA and NY. Perc is a great cleaner but is a bad contaminant for the ground and water causing many expensive cleanups most landlords which I am don't want it in their buildings. Also look for cleaners that use Green Earth very safe silicone based solvent. read more

So I really didn't think this would turn out well... but I was overly pleasantly surprised. I picked up my heaviest winter coat from Green Spin in the spring and placed it in the back of a closet. As the weather turned colder, I recently tried the coat on and the zipper was broken. Being that it was a double zipper, the zipper had broken at the very top at the neck. I returned the coat to Green Spin. The employee was very pleasant and the coat was repaired in a week. After having 3 poor customer service experiences this week with major international brands, thank you Green Spin for treating your customers as you would want to be treated. read more

Please allow me to preface this review by saying that I've been coming here for over 10 years. Never had a problem until I had a problem. Brought in my curtains in to be cleaned, came back to me ruined. No explanation when I picked them up, when I went to hang them - Ruined. When I went in to ask them what happened, they said "we make all of our customers sign a waiver who come in with curtains" furthermore "we also always inform our customer of the potential of damage due to sun exposure that wears down the fabric. What!? I never signed anything nor was I told anything. The owner herself checked me out the day I dropped them off. The excuse there was, "Maybe we were busy that day and forgot". Um-really? Instead of me barging in there demanding my money back, I asked them to repair the damage by sewing the fabric so the damaged area wouldn't show. Reasonable right? No, not to the owner. No one ever apologized for a mistake they clearly made. The owner huffed and puffed and even tried to get me to pay for the sewing. A week later, they sewed the curtains. It looks like a toddler did the job. Hand stitched, crooked as hell. Again, no apologies, didn't bother to show me what they did. They lost a longtime customer and don't seem to care in the slightest. read more

Having a sensitive nose, I have always found it difficult to find a drycleaner that doesn't leave clothes vaguely smelling like an AP Bio class following a dissection lab. When I pick up my clothes from Greenspin, I don't have to worry about this. I'm not someone who professes the superiority of "organic" practices on a regular basis, but Greenspin has made me realize that when it comes to dry cleaning, it actually might be a difference maker. read more

Have been dropping my clothes off here for the past 4.5 years and love it. I moved out of the area and still come back. I've consistently been able to get in and out in less than 5 minutes, clothes have always been cleaned on time, never lost an item, and their prices are reasonable. The covered parking is a plus, but there is ample street parking in front as well if it's packed. Overall recommend this place, you can get same day service for no additional cost as long as you bring it in early enough; bonus that it's eco-friendly too! read more

Hate to do this but...after 2-3 great years with Greenspin, they destroyed my down comforter. Looks like they bleached it or something. We took it back to show them, with all the feathers flying out of it and gashes as if someone took a knife to it and were told that, "Sometimes when comforters get old, this happens." No. And even if that's true, who the hell folded it up and gave it back to us this way??? They deliberately packaged it in such a way as to obfuscate the damage they'd done. The comforter was in great shape before and is now unusable. They didn't even refund us the money we spent "cleaning"/destroying it. I'm very disappointed, to put it mildly. We have to wait for the manager to call us with a verdict. I'm afraid that if his settlement isn't good enough, we'll have to take our business elsewhere. We've been very loyal and very complimentary but they ruined a $200+ down comforter and we've been quoted $250+ to fix it or $130 a patch from the company that makes it. I could buy a new one for less. At this point, they really need to show some contrition and some money to make this right. I'll never trust them with my bedding again. read more

I brought a friend's hat in to be cleaned after my pup had an accident on it and they shrank it! But that's not the end of the story... Their staff tried several times to restore the hat to its proper size, and when they couldn't, their manager, Peter, stepped in and ordered a brand new hat. AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!!! My wedding dress maker stained my dress on Thursday July 3rd!!!! Nothing was going to be open on the 4th so I was freaking out since my wedding is in a week....in Dominican Republic in which we are flying out for on Monday bright and early! I needed a super quick fix and luckily I was referred to Green spin and they made my dress look brand new, even better than how I had seen it in my fittings! Ok, so I am not sure how Greenspin can call their cleaning methods "eco friendly." Maybe there is some determinating factor that allows businesses to use this label. I had a pillow and a bedspread cleaned here - I picked them up and put both in the trunk of my car. I got in said car and smelled a strong, terrible chemical odor, as if someone had spray painted the entire inside of my car. I honestly thought there was something wrong with my car as the smell got stronger throughout the day. I had the worst headache from the smell by the time I got home. I pulled the dry cleaning out of the plastic to realize that chemical smell was coming from both of the "green" cleaned items I just picked up earlier that day! The smell was unbearable. We had to keep the items on the back porch until I could return them to the cleaners. Greenspin "recleaned" the items but they still smelled a bit when I picked them back up the second time. We had to air them out for a couple of days before we could bring them in the house. I have a hard time believing that "green" cleaning smells so bad that it gives me a headache? The only pro was that they took the items to be "redone" without asking any questions and the fact that they have covered pull up parking. read more

This used to be my go-to place for alterations, but this year they really upset me. They more than doubled their prices from my previous visits with no warning and were very rude about it. There are a lot of places that can do alterations in the city. This is all very simple hemming work. I will definitely take my business elsewhere that does good quality work with no ridiculous attitude. I hope you do as well. read more
