I needed a shirt and a pair of pants cleaned for a wedding. I procrastinated and took them in on a Thursday. I asked the guy when I could get them back. He told me Monday. I explained that I'm going to a wedding on Saturday and he told me no problem. Each piece was $5 and they prefer cash payments. I was nervous about time frame and went in later that day to double check about getting my clothes on Saturday. She assured me Saturday by 10:30am. Must have passed it a hundred times but never knew it was there. Stopped in several weeks ago based on Yelp reviews and was so glad I did. I have taken items there several times and they have not disappointed me in the level of workmanship on getting my items cleaned. The couple that works there is very nice and they really do take care to make sure that they are counting all of your items correctly. I brought these guys two difficult pieces, and they did excellent work. One was a jacket that may never have been cleaned, and which needed a zipper repair. The other was a jacket with an old melted wax stain. Both came back perfectly clean, with no sign of any stains. Total cost, including the zipper replacement, was just shy of $30. I don't use a dry cleaner often enough to know if that's a good deal or not. This is an old-school laundry, with Asian workers and one of those racks that spins the orders around the store. Sometimes old school is the best school. Note: although they use Joan Crawford's hated wire hangers, they put shoulder pads on the ends to protect your clothes! I am a petite person. I brought in a waterproff jacket with a detachable liner to have the sleeves shortened. They did a beautiful job shortening both the jacket and the liner sleeves so that they look perfectly aligned. In addition, they re-attached the sleeve attachment mechanisms which had come off. It's the little things: we dropped off a down comforter for cleaning and unfortunately had to put it in a garbage bag for transport. We assumed it would come back wrapped in plastic, so we were so surprised when they handed it to us beautifully folded and stored in a zipped up plastic bag. I always get nervous when altering a dress for a wedding as a bridesmaid, as the initial investment is already a bit higher. I had to get the straps and overall length of the dress shortened. The owner here was wonderful. It was done in one week. If I didn't pay for the alterations myself, I would not even know anything was done. The seam, hemlines and everything is 100% perfect and it looks like it was made this way. A bit pricey for the area I thought, but 100% worth every penny. EXTREMELY disappointed in the service and unprofessionalism of this place. Will never go here again. I asked when the turn around time would be for my 3 coats and 2 blouses they told me Saturday originally and I said that isn't going to work and I was going to leave. So the owner lies and baits me to leave my items there claiming she can have them ready by Friday. They are also VERY Unnecessarily over priced for their services. I dropped my items off on Tuesday. It is now Friday and it's freezing and I need my coats. I went to pick them up she immediately gets defensive and starts exclaiming she told me that the items would be ready for pick up Friday afternoon. And then she later specifically says she told me 1pm which is a lie when I need to be to work at 12. Why would I agree to that arrangement? Instead of just simply apologizing for the miscommunication and letting me know when the items would be ready she was defensive, rude and lying for no reason. She also took off her mask, FOR WHAT IDK WHY?! And I instructed her to put her mask back on. This is clearly something they do so I will also be reported them for violating COVID-19 mandates. I've been going to this dry cleaner in Andersonville since they opened. I never write reviews, but I am compelled to do so for Rainbow Cleaners because the woman who runs the business is so pleasant. She is the one who takes the order and measurements for the alterations, and I'm pretty sure she is the one who who also does the alterations. This is important because she understands what I want, and in fact double checks with me to make sure it looks rights, and then does it herself. Everything I've had altered is done very well with good quality and to my specifications. The store is tidy with a pleasant atmosphere and the turn-around time is quick. Prices are reasonable.
