I bought a few things in to be mended. Not only did they do a great job, they are so reasonably priced. I love this place and I am so happy to have found it. read more

I like this place but you guys need to stop stapling tags into the garments. It's so frustrating to get them off and it's ruining the tags. read more

Lakeshore Cleaners & Laundry - Stop stapling to the labels!! - Dry Cleaning Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Fair prices and good service. Great location; prob. will take more garments there. Next to cafe I go to sometimes as well. Only a block from the lakefront. read more

Suzy is the sweetest and always does a bang-up job at reasonable prices. She once repaired a nasty tear in my blazer for free! I only had one issue when she didn't have my jacket ready in time, but it wasn't a big deal. She reminds me of my late Korean grandmother who ran a seamstress factory (although without the undiagnosed bipolar disorder), so there's a nostalgia factor for me here, too. Cash only up to $10. read more

The owner is so friendly and she always does an excellent job. She also does alterations!

Sue is one of the hardest working ladies in Edgewater!! Everything always comes out amazing!! She will try her hardest to make a stain go away and will always give you the best customer service. read more

Lake Shore Laundry and Cleaners is the best dry cleaner in Edgewater. Even though I moved to another neighborhood, I go out of my way to continue patronizing this business. The prices are fair, too. read more

I had brought in a heavy white coat and two white tops with difficult stains to remove, but the work done was amazing and all stains were removed! Excellent service and very, very helpful and kind ladies. read more

I've used this place for years, and I have never been disappointed. The lady who runs it is a joy. I moved to Seattle for 5 years, and this cleaner was one of my favorite things to come back to. I wear suits 5-6 days a week for work, so I have had a lot of things cleaned there, and there has never been a single issue. I highly recommend Lakeshore Cleaners. read more

Ive gotten a couple dresses altered here and a parka dry cleaned. Phenomenal work for a very reasonable price. Also, very quick!

I love this place! The woman that is always working is super friendly, the price is decent, they do a good job, and they work with you to ensure you get your items back when you need them. Plus it is down the street from where i live, which is an added bonus. read more

a few things i like about my cleaners .... 1 location location location just across the street from where i live ! 2 price ! good deals on multiple shirts ! 3 same day services 4 open great hours 5 friendly services but they are after all that ....just average read more

We have been using this cleaners for about 3 years and we've never had an issue. She remembers us when we come in, which is great because we forget the receipt 75% of the time. I bring my dog in with me and the lady always talks to her, it's really cute. Good prices and a discount if you pay in full, you can use your credit/debt card if the total is over $10. She does a great job on tailoring also. read more

The nicest staff here. She is always so polite. She always has my clothes ready. It's kinda creepy actually. It's like she knows I am coming in. Prices are comparable to other cleaners in the area. read more

i can't seem to get anyone to pick up the phone here. That's frustrating. The woman that runs this place speaks marginal english, but they always seem to do a decent job. The place is a MESS, though, with tons of random clothes lying around, so I'm always worried that they will lose my items. One of the reasons I take clothes here, though, is that it's only 2 blocks from my place. 3 stars. read more

About the purple stains... apparently those go away. However, the buttons on the coat were flattened (they were perviously elevated, most likely a hollow, metal shell covered by fabric) and the prices were not as good as the Granville Cleaners for uniforms. read more

Love them. Very quick and friendly. By my second visit, they recognized me by face, and they always look happy to see me. Great price, being right next door to Metropolis Coffee helps. Perhaps, as jeverr w. says, they are just average, but it's a good average that keeps me from looking for someone else. read more

This cleaner is run by a very sweet lady who tries her hardest. The problem is, she appears overwhelmed and disorganized. I dropped off a couple shirts, one of which I needed for an out-of-town wedding. There was a mixup with the tag number, her fault not mine. She asked me to come back the next day, but I'll already be out of town. I've never had trouble like this at any other cleaner. I've also read other reviews about her losing other people's items. I'd think twice before going here. read more

I took several items to Lake Shore cleaners based on the decent yelp reviews. Fast service, poor, unorganized cleaning. They did not get the lint, or small stains out of my winter coats, which I paid 10$ each to have cleaned. After picking up my items I realized an expensive BLOUSE WAS MISSING (which I paid to have cleaned), and the FUR LINING TO HOOD OF MY COAT MISSING, as well. When I go to the dry cleaner I expect to get all my items back, clean; neither of which they were able to do. Also no one ever picks up the phone there. If you want to pay extra for the cleaners to loose your clothes then this is the perfect cleaner! read more

Love this cleaner. The women there is super nice. She alters pants for me all the time and makes them perfect. Even really hard sewing things she does perfect. She always remembers you and runs (iiterally) to get your clothing. read more

It may seem surprising that for a person who doesn't live in Chicago any longer to say that one of the things they miss about the city is their dry cleaner, but that is the truth. Lake Shore Cleaners was under about three different owners, since I moved into the Edgewater neighborhood back in 1990. The most memorable, though, is the current owner. At first, it was husband and wife, but the husband passed several years ago. That never dampened the wife's spirits, though. Suzy is one of the most pleasant people with whom to do business. Her prices are very reasonable, and she always cut me deals that made it even more affordable. I never asked her to do it. She just did. Now, I live in a much smaller market, and I pay more than double I paid at Lake Shore. But it isn't all about the cost. It's the great customer service I'll always remember. read more

I love this place! I have been going there regularly for 2 years now. It is right down the street from where I live, which is perfect! The women is super friendly and remembers us which is great as we usually forget our receipt & a lot of times I drop off the clothes & my husband picks them up. Price are decent and she gives a discount whenever i go there with a huge chunk of clothes. She does a good job with dry cleaning & steam press & ensures that clothes are rready when I need them. I take most of my ethnic clothes to her like sarees, churidar kurtas, dupattas & she always does a fabulous job! read more

I really want to support this business, but my experience has been really frustrating. I want to support what at least seems to be a woman-owned, independent business in my neighborhood, but I've had too many disappointing experiences here to recommend it. My problem is not with the cleaning and tailoring; rather, my problem is customer service-related. On two occasions, I've been told that pieces of my clothing were accidentally given to other customers. (Thankfully, they were eventually returned, but because the business doesn't keep receipts with phone numbers, the owner of Lakeshore wasn't able to contact the customers and retrieve the lost clothes.) On MANY occasions, I arrived to pick up clothes at the agreed upon day/time only to either be told to come back in half an hour, or to discover the door locked, and no one around. My impression is that the person who owns Lakeshore operates it by herself...something that I imagine is enormously challenging, considering the sheer amount of work involved. In this way, lack of timeliness and organization is understandable. But I have a busy life, and need a business that is dependable. Therefore, I suggest that you look elsewhere for a dry cleaner. read more
