Tried for the first time yesterday evening. I live in Hoschton, but I was teaching in the KW Market Center, so I decided to order this through GrubHub. I had the fried pot stickers, hot and sour soup and the sesame beef. It was all amazing. Sesame Beef is one of my favorite dishes when done well. When done poorly, it is usually not good. The beef was tender, cooked to perfection and I could tell that the oil it was fried in was fresh. The food was also delivered earlier than promised and was piping hot. And, it was SO good that I kept burning my tongue and the roof of my mouth. As a Realtor, I eat at a lot of places, and this ranks very highly. I wish I lived closer, because this would be one of my go to places. Actually, it is probably better that I don't, because I enjoyed it so much that I finished all of that food by myself. My husband & I decided to take advantage of the flyer delivered to our home in an attempt to find a really great Chinese carry-out place nearby. We were not disappointed. We called for take-out around 7pm on a Saturday night. 15 minutes later, I was walking out the door with a 20 lb (Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration) bag of food for the 2 of us. Seriously, though, we only ordered Szechuan Pork, Steamed Shrimp & Veggies and Vegetable Soup and we each got 3 meals worth of food for under $20. Husband's pork was very good. He claimed it had the perfect level of heat and tender pork, but wished there had been more broccoli and less zucchini. My steamed meal was so good. Veggies were tender-crisp and the shrimp weren't the least bit overcooked. The soup was also good and packed with chinese vegetables, but was a bit salty. They also included a bag of crispy wonton strips, but I can't say how good they were. Didn't try them. The restaurant itself was quiet when I picked up with only 2 tables of guests dining in. It was very clean inside. I'm used to greasy floors being associated with my favorite Chinese places back in my home town. I think next to the food, my favorite part of the meal was what else was in our bag. Our napkins, utensils, sauce packets and fortune cookies were safely tucked in a ziploc bag! This little exurban corner of NE Atlanta (Suwanee) is saturated with Chinese restaurants, but this is the best among them. Chinese restaurants tend to follow a formula. There are eight distinct Chinese cuisines. Most restaurants in the US loosely follow Cantonese or Szechuan cuisine (heavily Americanized). Green China Cafe has one of the most extensive menus among Chinese restaurants, but they do them well. I've eaten there more than 30 times over the past few years since they opened and I've tried more than 15 dishes - all very good. Their quality is always consistent and the owners, a very nice couple, will bend over backward to take care of the customers. Don't expect a fancy environment. The small space houses a simple decor, but both dining room and kitchen (there's a large window to see in) are always immaculate. Timing is great too. I've never waited more than 15 minutes for food even when they're busy. Take-out and delivery are equally efficient. All in all, there are a lot of places that serve Chinese food in that area, but this is far and above the other options despite the humble appearance. read more

Tasty Food. customer service is also very good. my last order did not arrive in good condition and the soup was spilled over the rest. After talking to Viky about it, she promised that my entire order next time would be free because it was their mistake. I went here for take out. I was quick to get there and the food was piping hot when I got back home. I ordered crab Rangoon, hot and sour soup and Mongolian beef. The Rangoon really lacked flavor. All I could taste was cream cheese. The hot and sour soup was good. Not much to it. No meat and no mushrooms which is fine. The soup was the highlight of the meal. The Mongolian beef was just ok. The sauce was bland. The beef was good but the flavor was subtle. Most likely will not return to this restaurant. Why is it so hard to find good Chinese food in Alpharetta? Was really hoping for better since they had a 4 star rating. Disappointed. read more

Great food, great service!! I ordered the chicken wings, calamari, and house special shrimp. The wings are the typical way a Chinese restaurant does wings but still very good and crunchy. The calamari I am still craving I could eat that every day, it's fantastic. The house special shrimp is delicious, I was not expecting it to be fried but didn't mind after tasting it. The sauce was light, which I prefer, with lots of flavor. I like spicy, they were cautious with the spice, but I would order it again. read more

After moving to the area from the Northeast we struggled to find a Chinese restaurant we like. Green China Cafe has become our go to spot for fresh takeout. We drive 35 min round trip and pass many other Chinese restaurants on the way. We have had all the basics: General Tao's, sweet & sour, hunan chicken, Mongolian beef, multiple shrimp dishes, fried rice, lo mein... all consistently good quality. The hot and sour soup is the perfect combination of both hot and sour. It is a rich brown color with flavor. The chicken in my dish was like chicken nuggets and you can see the bright fresh vegetables in the photo. This is hands down our favorite Chinese restaurant ! read more

This is a hard review to write. We've ordered takeout from Green China Cafe a number of times over the last few months. Generally, the food is great! The Orange Beef is amazing, the Hunan Chicken is awesome, and many of the other dishes are fresh tasting and well prepared. Unfortunately, the last time we ordered takeout the food was barely edible. It had a very strong odd smell and taste, which reminded us of bad canned vegetables/moldy cheese. I'm thinking that perhaps an ingredient used in a number of these dishes had gone bad. We ended up not eating any of it and having to throw out about $50 of food :(. I'll definitely give them another chance as this was the only time the food was off and will update my review. Generally the food is 5 stars, but the last time was 0...so for now, marking 2 stars. read more

So let's talk about this amazing Chinese food in a low key plaza outside of Johns Creek. First off, I was in the area doing some shopping and had a craving for Chinese food, and when I looked there were tons in this area. I decided to try this one based on reviews and I am so happy I did! My meal was perfect! The rice has flavor without having to drown it in a soy or duck sauce , and my beef and broccoli was delish. Their lunch menu is awesome and has a great selection for an even better price . Do yourself a favor if you're in the area and check them out. Got the Crab Rangoon, Hot & Sour Soup, Large Fried Rice, Hunan Chicken (comes with rice), Mongolian Beef Family dinner (comes with an appetiser, rice and soup), Kung Pao Shrimp & Scallops (rice included) and got an extra Crab Rangoon for free. Ok Crab Rangoon, that's the first time I was trying it and no did not like it, should have gone for the spring rolls or something else, it's cheesy or something, just not what I was expecting. I asked to make everything spicy, but the dishes were pretty mild, still it was decent and really good quantity. Mongolian Beef was probably the best and the soup was good too. After basing my trip to Green China from the reviews on Yelp, I am convinced that most people OTP have no clue what decent take-out Chinese food actually is. Green China Cafe is "meh" at best with it's food quality and/or differing flavors. The food was nothing new as far as Chinese take-out goes with bland spring rolls, bland rice dishes, and the entrees are average at best. You don't have to drive far to find decent flavors for the John's Creek/Suwanee area, but please don't base your visit from the positive ones listed here. We picked up dinner from here for the first time tonight and had no disappointment. Pickup was perfect- everything was ready and they have a drive up door which is wonderful! We ordered cashew chicken, Mongolian Chicken, Rainbow Shrimp, and Sweet and sour pork. We had wonton soup as well. Not only was the food delicious, but very reasonably priced. Our total for 4 adults was around $50. Other places have been $75 total. We will be a loyal patron here. read more

I tried this place for the first time yesterday. I heard about it through the Eat24 app, saw there was delivery available, and decided to check it out. I am so glad I did! First of all, the delivery man was prompt and polite. And, the food was pretty good, better than most of the Chinese I have had in Georgia so far. (I am looking at you, Chin Chin XXVII).
