I've been coming here for the last 5 years and the food is always consistent. My go-to is beef and broccoli and Singapore Mei fun. So good everytime I go. They cook really fast also usually within 15 min. Great service. It's mostly a take out place is I can't really comment on the ambiance but it's fine for what it is! read more

We got take out from here tonight, haven't really eaten take out in forever and this served the purpose for what we needed tonight. Pricing is reasonable, what we found was that the seasoning was pretty neutral- not crazy salty, not super spicy, just right down the middle on most of it. The dishes were a little sweet, so if you'd rather have spice I think you need to ask for more. That being said the pricing is not that much higher based on what I have seen recently over the past few months. One thing that I will say is that we ordered the seafood soup and the imitation crab was actually really, really mushy. No texture at all so it was not pleasant to eat, even considering it's basically fish. The Mongolian chicken came with onions and was the sweeter dish. Not much spice here but the chicken was sliced up breast which was nice. Hunan beef with scallops had great flavor, but not a ton of protein. Again, the dish was basically $12ish so I'm not going to really complain. Seafood soup for $8- quart size. Besides the imitation crab, there was tons of veggies and shrimp so it was hearty. Hot and sour quart for $4- on the thicker side, more sour than spicy, leaned more towards a sour egg drop soup. Egg rolls $1.79 per- what you'd expect. Nice to find some place that doesn't have unreasonable pricing for an app. All in, our dinner was $44 and we had enough for another meal. I think we will go with other dishes and see what other things are like before we pass a hard judgment, but we still love to support small businesses. read more

They have the worst customer service. They will try to get over you. My aunt placed an order during lunch time & when we got there I went in & they charged her for dinner. When I let them know of this issue they argued with me. We ended up walking out & they didn't get any of our funds. read more

Tasty, good portions, quality Chinese food for the area. ***HOWEVER**** if you call in a dinner order for pickup and they tell you it'll be 20-30 minutes, unless you enjoy standing outside with a mask or sitting in your car, just go ahead and assume that'll actually be 45-60 minutes. My family and I have been coming here for years -- Great China is deeply reliable, friendly, no frills, and honest. The employees are incredibly kind and their food is always consistent and makes excellent leftovers, and it's always so quick. On several occasions they have thrown in extra food or a few sodas just for my family being consistent customers. It's exactly what you want out of Chinese food, and honestly I am ashamed and disgusted by some of these absolutely horrible and (in some occasions) straight up racist reviews. These are good, hardworking people pushing out a steadfast product, while maintaining a level of kindness and decorum. If you don't like the food, that's fine -- but don't tear down your fellow man because your 7 dollar dinner wasn't working for you. I promise you'll get over not enjoying your meal -- think about the business you're verbally destroying just out of entitlement. Love you Great China. Glad to have this option for good Chinese food in Sugar Hill! I've been satisfied with all the dishes ordered, though I tend to stick with the favorites....egg rolls, chicken with broccoli, beef with broccoli, or General Tso's. I was very disappointed in the food this time. I have been going to Great China for last few years and have seen a steady decline in the taste of their food. I typically get shrimp lo mein and shrimp egg foo young. While the quantity of shrimp is generous, the taste has become very bland. The egg foo young has no egg flavor and seems like it's made with some gelatenous substance. Their food used to be very tasty but again has steadily declined. I stopped by here recently when I was hankering for some simple "sweet & sour" chicken dish. It looks like a standard take-out Chinese stop. The kitchen is nice and open so you can see everything being cooked (for those of us who want that extra surety of cleanliness). The woman serving me spoke little English and she and the cook (I assume her husband, by the way they interacted) fought incessently with each other while prepping my food. So... PROs: - Fast. - Decent price (~$10 for entree, rice, 2 cabbage rolls, egg-drop soup and a drink) CONs: - The taste was pretty "blah" Could just be the dish I ordered, though. - The fighting and lack of professionalism (not even saying "thank you, come again" for example).I know it's picky, but I'm pretty big on expecting decent customer service. - Frozen breaded chicken, deep-fried. The WORST chinese - perhaps, the worst of any kind - food ever. Absolutely terrible and inedible. I scraped off the slimy sugary sauce and fed the meat to my dogs. I threw the frozen vegetable mixture (peas and carrots) in the trash. WHO in their right mind would give this place any more than a single star... If I could have, i would have given them ZERO stars. I'd really like to give this place a 3.5. I don't know if I've ever had a Chinese restaurant that's a five, so a four would be pretty good. This restaurant is pretty decent. The flavors are good and it's by far one of the best places I've found in the area. The fried rice was a little disappointing, pretty sure it had chunks of pork in it and I don't eat pork. I like my fried rice with the typical veggies and egg and this was not how I enjoy it. The lo mein was a little salty but otherwise good. The beef and broccoli was great. The service is good and they cook everything to order in plain sight. An order of crab rangoon is huge, a lot more than 4. The portions are large like any other chain and the prices are decent. I would eat here again minus the chunks of meat in the fried rice, maybe order veggie fried rice. read more

Been going to this spot for a few years now as my go to quick Chinese place when I lived and worked off Suwanee Dam. Can't go wrong. They were absolutely packed tonight, but it was worth the wait. My fried dumplings were crispy on the outside and moist and delicious on the inside. I had General Tso's chicken with white rice, and the sauce was excellent, the chicken crispy and delicious. Not to mention I had so much left over, I've got a second meal for tomorrow! For the price this place gives you a very generous portion of delicious food. It's not gourmet, but it's exactly what you are looking for in a great Chinese takeout place, which is why it earns five stars in my book! read more

We lived in the Sugar Hill Buford area for many years and moved 3 years ago to Cumming near the outlets. To this day I will still order and pick it up. Yes it is far, but I will travel for great food. This years for Christmas Eve we decided to start a new tradition of having Chinese food. What a great choice! No pots and pans and delicious food. Very good! Roast pork egg foo young might be the best I've had but for the sauce. The best egg foo young sauce I've had, had a unique flavor--maybe five spice or something. But that's really just personal taste. This sauce was good too and egg/ omelette part was really, really good. The pork fried rice was good. And the sesame chicken was very good. We moved to the area recently and have driven past this place several times, but dismissed it because of its nondescript exterior. Finally, one night, I had a hankering for sweet & sour soup but didn't want to drive far to go get it, so we gave this place a try. I'm so glad we did! They have the BEST hot & sour soup I've ever had! We had: pork lo mein, hot & sour soup, and crab rangoon. All were excellent! The portion on the crab rangoon is generous; 10 as opposed to the usual order of 6 or 8. We'll definitely be eating here again soon to explore more of the menu! read more
