The crab Rangoon especially stood out -- the order was large and really good. Most Asian establishments are open for Christmas Here's my opinion on this place Ambiance: outdated, boxes everywhere, small but feels family owned. Service: very nice people here. They were super tired after a crazy night! Food: the wall says 89B so I am a little scared of that. I also paid for fried rice online and they got me white rice. With limited Chinese choices, this place is in the top 5 (but, still only decent!). The location is easy, ample parking, clean, etc - but, the food has gotten worse over time. Two years ago we would order delivery or carry-out probably once a month, now it is rare. The food has started to lack flavor, spice, or is somewhat cold/old when you pick it up. My family and I recently moved to the area (Winder) and felt a little lazy this evening and decided to order delivery. After a quick Google search of delivery places China Wok seemed to be the answer. I couldn't find a website so I had to rely on third party information to order their menu. We order the House Special Lo Mein, Sweet & Sour Chicken, and Kung Pao Chicken. The Lo Mein was pretty good. The noodles weren't greasy, which is great. Although next time we will order the Vegetable Lo Mein instead. The Sweet & Sour Chicken was good. Chicken wasn't greasy or slimy and had good texture. The sauce was a standard store bought flavored s&s sauce. The Kung Pao Chicken had decent spice but the mushroom over powered the dish. It's all I could taste. Overall it was an okay experience. The cost was $25.15 after everything was said and done so I'd say it was a good value. I was quoted an hour for the delivery and was delivered in 45 minutes. Great portion sizes for the cost. Food quality matched the food cost though and was reflected throughout all three meals in their respective ways. My wife and I both agree the rating should be 3 1/2 stars but unfortunately we can't rate it that way so 3 stars it is. read more

Used to be my favorite thing to order for Chinese delivery. Now I will do without or get pizza. The food is amazing, but we just ordered delivery and it was a night mare. It took a hour and 15 mins to get here - I usually don't mind the wait because it's so good. However tonight my food was missing a combo plate and I thought "no big deal, I'm sure they will replace it." NO. The delivery guy (completely English speaking) called the store to tell them something was missing and we had to repeat it 4 times back and forth until finally we said the number and they acted like they didn't believe us and like we were lying. I attached the photo of the menu that had my order circled on it, it clearly shows we paid for 2 meals and an appetizer but we only received one meal and 1 appetizer. They handled this terribly and it royally pissed me off. read more

My husband and I just moved into the area and we wanted to try a new Chinese restaurant. I looked at reviews on google and Yelp and chose this place because it had the best scores in the area. We had our order delivered. We we charged an additional $2.00 for delivery that we were not told about. This fee is ridiculous for anyone that charges it. Why are tips just not enough? Instead they want to charge a fee and expect tips as well. I don't like that. It also took an hour to get here, and they are 5 miles (5.7 to be exact) down the road. My husband ordered shrimp and lobster sauce, which is the same thing he orders everywhere. He ate the entire thing in one sitting and was full. He said his meal was fine. I asked him what he would rate it 1-10, and he said he would rate it a 6. I ordered the sesame chicken. The chicken was okay. It was not 5 star. I suppose out of 10, I would probably rate it a 6. I ate it, I didn't hate it, but it did not make me want to ever order from here again. We always order the same two dishes, and if we rate them 6, it is not worth ordering again. Some chinese places offer half portions of sesame chicken and most dishes. I do not believe they offer these portions. If they do, it is not advertised on the menu. I always prefer to get half portions because it is just me that eats it and I cannot eat like my husband. I also ordered an appetizer. I ordered fried potstickers. He said that they had fried dumplings, so I said that is fine. This is not what I expected, and it was not good. The dumpling was very thick and I did not like the dipping sauce. We also ordered the Wonton soup. The broth was extremely oily. It was just filled with fat. It was hard to eat. The wontons were thicker than usual. The kind of wonton soup that I like has a thinner wonton that sort of just falls apart. We also had a couple of spring rolls. No complaints there. Overall, personally I will never eat here again based off of us not loving our favorite items. There may be other items on the menu that are great, but we won't ever find out. In the area, there are a few different Chinese restaurants. Even though they are rated lower, I will give them a try instead of China Wok. Even though I only rate this a 2, I always recommend trying new places and ordering your own favorite dishes. read more

Top of the line Chinese Food. We were in Winder for shopping at a specialty store and GPS pulled up this one as Asian closest to us. From outside it looked like a full service restaurant but when we went inside it was a self service. We were expecting full menu price as it was Sunday but its 7 days a week lunch special at lunch time. We ordered Cashew Chicken with fried rice and to out next surprise surprise we had also the choice for one of the 5 soups. All for only $5.08. We were sharing the platter so we picked a table and she brought us ice water, bowl of soup with two soup spoons a load of napkins and extra plate. Then came the main entry, boy that platter was heaping loaded with lots of cashew garnished on the top. It was a great Szechuan flavor and very delicious. The chicken was fresh, very fresh. Normally on a Sunday most restaurants are serving up leftovers from Friday and its easy to tell. So this was really a great surprise and such super service at such great price and amazingly delicious heaping food including soup....... you just cant beat it. The next time we have the urge to eat good authentic Chinese food here is where we will drive to. A little out of the way but very worth it. read more

This place isn't the best sit-down restaurant in Winder, but it is the best Chinese delivery place. If you want Chinese take-out delivered to your doorstep, China Wok is the place to call. They're open pretty late, too, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. I've been ordering takeout from them ever since they opened well over 10 years ago. Every single time, our food has been delivered by the same guy. He smiles whenever he sees me! He remembers when my daughter was a baby and every time he sees her, he remarks on how big she's gotten. Service with a smile - that's not something that happens much anymore. The food is always good, always hot and always delivered quickly. I live at least 8 miles from this place, and even though there is a closer Chinese delivery place, I still call them because they're the best around. Give them a try. read more

My boyfriend and I tried this place for the first time today. My meal was okay. The bottom of the container was just really greasy so I didn't bother with finishing it. My boyfriend's meal, however, tasted odd. The best way to describe the rice was it tasted the way Burger King smells. That says a lot to me, considering we don't eat at Burger King. July 4th we decided not to cookout but were hungry. Tired of cookout and other fast food places in the area, we googled take out in winder. I usually do not eat Chinese food ever, but they were the only place that were open and delivered. it was way more than expected. So much food and i have a family of 6. We were so full and satisfied. Although it was also pretty lit in my neighborhood that evening due to the festivities, they still delivered with no issues. They did quote me about 30 mins to an hour and they were at my home in 15.
