This has been my family's go to food spot the last few years but I feel as of recent, maybe last two months or so, the quality has gone down a bit. I have a picky 5 year old eater and he loves the lemon chicken wings from here but lately, they have been soggy (had to throw them in my air fryer to get a nice crunch to them), under or over seasoned, and a few times have tasted like they were fried in old grease. The fried rice has been less seasoned and vegetable a bit hard. I'm hoping this is just a fluke because it's so close to home. read more

Since moving in the area, we were looking a solid Chinese food restaurant and we have found it in Peking Restaurant. My daughter loves their honey chicken. Their portions are generous, usually enough for two meals. My order is always ready and hot when I arrive. They are located in a strip mall, nothing to see, ambiance wise. Food was not food. Veggies in pepper steak wasn't cooked. I asked several times for extra soy sauce and was only given 4. Shrimp fried rice has no taste and shrimp looks like plain cocktail shrimp. Food is made quickly and fresh, and I really like the fact that the young man in the front can cater to the requests I have! I like the vibe of the restaurant. They recently renovated their interior, so it looks less beat down! Would recommend getting a bite here to eat because their portions are enough for two people (if you're eating for one). This was a great experience. Purchased Egg Foo Yung in Bethlehem off Loganville hwy. Food was reasonably priced. They offer gravy not the jelly like substance other restaurants offer. The patty sizes are consistent, however they didn't seem to have the fresh been sprouts I'm accustomed too. They also lacked flavor and seasoning. I know there are many ways to make this item. So I try to find locations that make it as close to my liking or I make my own. They are very kind and prepare your food quickly. I appreciated the value for my money and would consider trying them again, since I live in the community. Maybe give them a try and let me know what you think. read more

Actually, some of the best Chinese food I've had in a while, specially in the Dacula area. Things we ordered: - Mongolian beef w/ white rice - Orange Chicken w/ white rice - Pork fried rice - Eggrolls OMG, I am salivating by just thinking of it. The Mongolian beef was incredibly tender, juicy, and not too sweet like in other places. Sweet but not overwhelming. The Orange chicken was great, it actually had pieces of orange peel which was very nice. Again, sweet but not overwhelming. The fried rice, OMG, I am obsessed. Really really good. Like I could just order that and I'd be good because one, it is a very large portion and two, they put a large amount of protein in it (I ordered pork) and it is just delicious overall. All dishes came out pipping hot, even after getting home and unpacking everything. It all was super fresh, and delicious. I'm definitely coming back!! It's been almost 8 years since I first discovered the husband & wife duo cooking up magic @ Peking Restaurant, and I have been a loyal fan ever since. They have been consistently excellent, always friendly and someplace we can count on being open rain or shine. I initially planned on trying everything on the menu, but I have developed such strong favorites that now I simply order what I love! While sometimes we switch it up, at least 4 of the following items are almost always on our order: --- * EGG ROLLS (5+ stars) - Whether we get the plain veggie (for my wife) or the shrimp (for me and the boys), these have been some of the best egg rolls I've ever put in my belly. I love them so much there are days I stop by ONLY for the egg rolls. * FRIED CHICKEN WINGS (5 star) - I wish I knew what seasonings they used, because the flavor of the wings all by themselves is very satisfying. They are always good, but on some days they are extra delicious! Be careful if you are eating in-store, because they serve them piping hot right out of the fryer each and every time (which I love)! * CRAB RANGOON (5 star) - Their version of this classic is one of our favorites. * SHRIMP & EGG (5++ stars) - You likely won't see this on any Chinese menu in the south, including theirs, but they've been making this for me as a special request for the past 8 years and I'm telling you it is thee main reason why I have remained faithful. It is a special dish I remembered fondly from a restaurant in my childhood neighborhood and each time I eat it I feel 8 years old again. My mother practically cried when I first introduced her to Peking's version because we never thought anyone could make it EXACTLY the way we remembered. I've order this dish for countless guests over the years and everyone absolutely loves it. I'm surprised they haven't added it to the regular menu, but they WILL make it if you ask! * VEGETABLE LO MEIN (5 stars) - My wife's favorite go to dish when she wants to abandon her non-gluten diet. * FRIED RICE (4.5 stars) - Both the shrimp and steak are our family favorites. They will also add the larger shrimp to the rice for an extra fee, which we splurge for on occasion. I believe it's $1 for every two large shrimp in addition to the regular shrimp already included. Generally we like to add about $3 worth. * POTBELLY STICKERS (4.5 stars) - Whether fried or steamed, each is a delightful explosion once dipped in their special sauce! * SESAME CHICKEN (5 stars) - Once upon a time this was a must for our kids. Still a family favorite, although we probably haven't ordered it in 4 years. * MIXED VEGGIES IN BROWN SAUCE (5 stars) - Another go to dish for my plant eating wife. * SHRIMP EGG FOO YOUNG (4.5 stars) - My mom's long standing favorite when she's not in the mood for Shrimp & Egg. * PEPPER STEAK (4.5 stars) - Another of my mom's favorites that I will also order on occasion. This place is really good! They are always so kind, and always get our order correct. They have even made my husband a special request, and nail it anytime he asks for it! We always get a few different dishes and have enjoyed all of them! Some of our favorites are shrimp egg foo yung, any of their fried rices, vegetable lo mein, mixed vegetables with brown sauce, shrimp eggrolls, vegetable eggrolls, crab rangoon, chicken wings, and a special dish my husband requests shrimp and egg w/ bean sprouts. This a typical Chinese take-out restaurant. The pricing is great, very reasonable and we got our food in less than 15 minutes. The food was average, again, typical of any Chinese take-out - nothing amazing or worth writing home about. The chicken was alittle tough and chewy. The noodles were alittle bland and gummy. What did stand out and tasted good was the shrimp toast. This is actually why we chose this restaurant vs other nearby Chinese restaurants. No one else seems to carry shrimp toast on their menu. We went to Peking for their lunch special today and let me start off by saying that their lunch specials are ridiculously cheap! They have shrimp with lobster sauce on their lunch menu for about $5 and that's a steal! Best part was that it tasted good, too. Peking is located next to Publix and it's small with very limited seating so if you roll deep/plan on coming with a lot of people, you may want to order to go because there's about 4 or 5 tables that seat about 4 people each so that's not very much space. It looks like a typical Chinese takeout place but the food quality is good compared to other take out places I've been to. The egg drop soup was pretty good and even though I got a small, I thought the portion was generous for its size. The menu is big and has common dishes like fried rice, lo mein, won tons, etc. Since the prices are reasonable, I'll come back and try the other dishes. read more
