I really like the food here. We end up here at least 1x/week for lunch. They are an Asian restaurant, with Chinese, Thai, and Sushi on the menu. I have not tried their Sushi, but it does look fresh. Service is great - as soon as you are shown to a table, one of the 2 waitresses are at your side, offering drinks. The food is out about 5 minutes later. It is always boiling hot. While I like the food, it is not very spicy or flavorful. This is fine with me, but occasionally I like a bit more flavor. I add some low-sodium soy sauce - good to go! No MSG used here. The ambiance was very warm and calming. The service...not so much. This was our first time dining in but we've frequented this spot many times before for pick ups. Our server was not interested in serving us. I noticed several eye rolls when she saw we were being seated in her section and again after asking for our drinks. I have no idea what it is to be honest, other than an insult to Thai cuisine and people who order it expecting what the name implies. Oriental J is hands down one of my favorite spots! The food is always hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel right at home. I've tried a few different dishes here and every single one has been delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, perfect for a casual night out or even takeout. Horrible owner!!! Don't care about service just your money. I ordered pork fried rice and when I saw it and tasted it, it was not good at all. Seeing how convenient the location is to my house, it's one of many places I usually go to. Their sushi is like one from a sushi restaurant and have never disappointed me. I've also had their pad thai, and for those who know me know that I love pad thai. As much as it was flavorful, it was a tad soupy which is abnormal (in my opinion and from my past experiences). Their kung pao chicken is also very good!! As much as they have a large menu variety, it can be difficult to decide on what to get. One of the things I like about this place is that they serve you this fried wonton strips with sweet and sour sauce, which is like equivalent to chips and salsa at a mexican restaurant. So pleasantly surprised by how delicious thier food was! My daughter had a spicy tuna roll and a dynamite roll and said they were the best sushi rolls she'd ever had! I had Beef with vegetables and requested no brocolli or mushroom and it came exactly as I ordered it and it was scrumptious! We had our order delivered by Grubhub so I have no idea about the interior of the restaurant or the service but the food was absolutely delicious! The food was okay. I'd give it a 3/5. This review is mainly based on the service provided at the front desk. I hope the young woman who was there on 6/2/25 around 4pm finds peace. It was my first time trying this restaurant and I needed some guidance with the menu and the service I was given was that of someone who felt I was incompetent and a bother. Hopefully someone in charge sees this and gives her a reminder about the impact of customer service because my family and I won't be back and I won't be recommending this place. I have been looking for a good Chinese place near me and I think I found it. This was near me and 4/5 stars and the health dept score was very high. Not common for Asian restaurants. We ordered steamed dumplings, orange beef and mandarin trio. The dumplings were so good I thought they were homemade which the waitress said was not. The orange beef was the best we have had. Good portion sizes. The mandarin trio was sweet but the waitress's told me it was. We will definitely be back. read more

My parents frequent this restaurant monthly and I see why they do. Their food is fresh and delicious. I always order sushi here and I'm never disappointed. I order their shrimp crunch roll or their spider roll which is always fantastic. Their hot and sour soup is great as well. I have had their sesame chicken with fried rice and my son has had their sweet and sour shrimp. My son also loves their chow mein. Served is always amazing. Second straight delivery 30+ minutes and they did not deliver the egg drop soup. We called them and the late delivery is due to "coincidence because they were really busy with orders". I'm sure that's true since almost all restaurants are really slow on Friday nights at 7 PM. Their answer to the missing soup was "we will credit you on your next order". Their delivery person did not speak much English, so communication was difficult when he couldn't find us. The food was very bland, and almost tasteless. I've ordered the same dish from other restaurants, and flavor was much better. The person on the phone, however, was VERY patient with us, it took several calls from us to decide what we wanted. My favorite Asian restaurant currently is Oriental J's because we've been door dashing them when we can't get out from me being I'll and they have great orange chicken my six year old loves and curry my husband loves. I usually get chicken fried rice, cashew chicken or orange chicken. It's ALWAYS a win when you can't get anywhere locally to have brought hot, delicious and freshly made in less then 30 min. We love how fast our food comes and we will visit soon in person to check out the in dining experience as I'm sure they give just as good of service read more

I can't believe I have not written about oriental OJ after many years but time to catch up. Started here over 10 years ago, mostly sushi--at the bar with my son . Great sushi chefs kept us happy for years until we moved and now back in the area . Oriental J has some great owners and staff that know the business, provide quality products in Chinese, Thai, Korean , Indonesian and Japanese influences. I'll start with sushi- which may have changed during covid, but always fresh tuna, salmon, octopus so sashimi platters are excellent. I generally get their latest- mostly all fish sushi rolls, lot of meat, great presentations , great taste. I only use sriracha and no soy sauce unless it's seared so always has been great for me and my son on Friday nights . Their Chinese and Thai are fantastic! I mostly get these to go and have been getting my old standard moo goo gai pan cause I love the chicken and tons of veggies and puppy does too. Thai dishes can be really hot and other spicy options- which we love them all have havent been overwhelmed... high tolerance for pain! Give them a try if you haven't been. Ordered delivery because my wife wasn't feeling well. We usually go and eat there since the staff are really nice and the food is usually good. This delivery however was the worst!!! The ordered took a little longer than usual to arrive but not much. This is where the one star is deserved. I left a tip when I placed the order on line and when the driver arrived I signed the receipt and he says "give me more tip" I said the tip is already on the bill. Then this dude says "FUCK YOU" I left a suggested 10% tip as per the APP and I get a FU on my front porch by some stranger. If my wife wasn't ill I would have handled this differently than just closing the door. I won't be giving my $$$ to this place ever again. I don't understand the glowing reviews for this restaurant...the service was good but the food was not good at all. I ordered ma po tofu and I'm typically used to having silken tofu in the dish, but the tofu was firm and texture really threw me off. The taste and spice level of the sauce was off too, and I didn't like the addition of the peas and carrots. My husband ordered a chicken dish and it was covered in a weird pink sauce and was basically inedible. The only conclusion I can come to is that most of the people leaving glowing reviews haven't had actual good Chinese food, or maybe their other Asian cuisine dishes are better and we shouldn't get Chinese from here. read more

I am disappointed to leave this review. I ordered delivery that consisted of three items. One of the items was general tos chicken. They used styrofoam box to pack the food and the chicken and sauce melted the box. I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager and he agreed to remake the meal and have it delivered. After specifically saying I do not want the to come in a styrofoam container, guess what? They sent it in a styrofoam container again. You just lost a great customer. read more
