It's hard to find solid Chinese takeout, but this place is fantastic, and I'll definitely be coming back. The lo mein had the perfect texture and vegetable ratio, the fried rice was seasoned beautifully, and the veggies had a nice crisp to them. The sesame chicken was especially impressive--most places serve it soggy within minutes, but here, it still had a great crunch despite being takeout. The sauce-to-chicken ratio was spot on, and the chicken pieces were just the right size. The spring roll was another highlight--still crispy with a great crunch, even after the drive home. If ambiance is your thing, this ain't the place. It's basically an indoor takeout window. There are two tables inside but you get the impression they don't want you eating your food there. All the standard American Chinese take out menu items are here. Everything you are familiar with, including Egg Foo Young and a few others you can't always get elsewhere. This is my go to take out. Good food. Been eating here all my life and the quality has remained consistent through out the years. The employees are very reasonable with requests. The food is always fresh and great flavors. It's a good price for the lunch combos. My favorite is the orange chicken and the egg rolls.

I am in Lawrenceville since 2005 and 10 years or so ago we've found this place by mistake (when we were ordering from another place), and the service was super nice; the attendant asked me if I wanted them to fulfill the order and that it will take only minutes, and I agreed. This hole in the wall has the best Chinese food I've had since I've moved to Georgia. Chinese is my favorite & I was loosing hope after a number of bad experiences! They're crab ragoons are kinda skimpy on the amount of filling but I still love them because they actually have nice chunks of crab meat you can taste in them and not just an overflow of cream cheese, I LOVE their hot & sour soup, the veggie Lo mein was very good, Mongolian beef so far my FAVORITE entree. I even eat their sweet n sour chicken & ive never been much of a fan of that entree. The triple delight with garlic sauce was also amazing. The fried rice could use a little work so I typically get Lo mein instead but I am always satisfied with the quality of the food & it's the only place I order Chinese from! The food was made quick and it was hot. The food was not that good tho. I got the teriyaki chicken lunch. It was not that much chicken and the sauce was not sweet. The chicken tasted bland and gooey. It was my first and more than likely my last time eating here. I did like how they are taking set up as far as protecting themselves from the virus. I might try their orange chicken, I am still not sure. All I know is don't order the teriyaki chicken. It's not worth the purchase. The fried rice was ok. It really wasn't special. Fast, cheap and completely in control. A rock solid Chinese take out place. You will not have an epiphany when you eat the food from here. You will, however, marvel at the simplistic delight of the offerings and be thankful of the size of the portions. I ate here and got sick! FOOD POISON. They gave me bad shrimps. I have put in a complaint with the department of health and they will Investigate. I ordered shrimp with broccoli and they gave me chicken with broccoli, so I called the restaurant back to let them know that they gave me the wrong order. The owner asked me to bring back the chicken with broccoli. Weird! When I got there, they never threw out the chicken with broccoli platter, which is highly unsanitary. A sit down Chinese restaurant is hard to find in Gwinnett. Most of the places like this one are small nondescript places tucked into small strip malls. Selecting a place by a parking lot full of customers isn't easy. but if you watch this place for a few minutes they have a pretty steady stream of diners ordering to go. Most chinese restaurants in the area also serve New York (Hong Kong style) food which is a bit more la-choy (packaged) then it is flavorful but I was surprised by the fairly good quality of items from Main Moon. The egg foo young was good, the crab rangoons were plentiful but the beef and broccoli and house fried rice was sub-par and dried out. I am always concerned when staff that handles the register is also packaging food but they had a current 100 A+ rating so if Gwinnett health is doing it's job it may have been a one-off occurrence. read more

Main Moon has been my go to place for years. The past few years the customer service has declined. The food is great nice size portions. Today an order was placed we specified a particular item for substitution. They sent the opposite of what was ordered. When they were contacted they would not come back(delivery order) it was clearly explained they had given the wrong item. My food had not been touch they were informed of this. They would not take the untouched food nor sent what was actually ordered. This was less than 10 minutes from when the food was delivered. They said they would take two dollars off my next order. They were not taking the two dollars off of my current order! They had processed it already! They took our name down for the two dollar credit. What a joke! Oh! When you use a card they will make a copy when they get to your home. Delivery is not always available. Just drive there for take out. Don't think I will be ordering from them for delivery ever again. read more

Luckily, my daughters teacher recommended this place and we've been regulars ever since. The food is fresh and portions are large. The prices are great and they have specials at lunch. I liked Main Moon until today. I have been ordering food there for awhile and it is always pretty good, but today the customer service ruined the place for me and I won't be back. First of all, I think there is only one person there that speaks English and I think he is a teenager. That's fine. But today I picked up an order that came to over $30 and the main thing I wanted was called "the happy family" which had lobster listed as the first ingredient, along with shrimp, scallops and beef. When I get home, not only is there no lobster, but there is chicken and pork added, a lot of pork, which my wife won't eat (this was for her). I proceeded to call Main moon and asked why there was no lobster in my dish and the reply was that "oh, we don't have lobster anymore". I asked the teenager if he thought it might be wise to take it off the menu or at least tell people there was no lobster when they order this dish, this was just followed by 30 seconds of silence...finally the kid says "so what do you want?" I say I would like to know that you will not continue to practice FALSE ADVERTISING and change your menu, AND instead of asking me what I want, I want to know what you would be willing to do to keep me as a customer? This too was just followed by 30 seconds of silence so I assumed that the answer to my question was... nothing at all...I also asked at least three times if there was anyone else I could speak with and this was always followed by silence...I guess Main Moon is relying on a teenage kid to run the business....oh well, there are plenty of Chinese places to order from and I will be taking my business elsewhere...You blew it Main Moon.... read more
