Let me start by saying, this is my first time visiting this establishment, it could very well be that today the cooking was off. I ordered the lunch portion of chicken and broccoli with fried rice, as soon as I saw it I knew it was going to be bad. It looked and tasted bland, it was watery and there were only 3 pieces of chicken and not very much broccoli either. The fried rice was bland and hard like if it was old rice. The spring roll, I had to spit out, it was just horrible tasting!! My husband ordered General Tso's chicken, that was ok. And my teenagers got orange chicken, it was edible but not quality, had a bunch of cherries from a jar. Chinese food is one of my favorite food and I have had my fair share, this could have easily been one of the worst I have ever had. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to spend another $50 just to see if it was just today that the food was bad. read more

Just DoorDashed some food and there is urine in the soup!!!! The wonton soup could only be described as "deconstructed" has the unmistakable taste of urine, not maybe a hint! Pure overpowering pee. I wish I did not recognize the taste but obviously STAY AWAY!!! I wasn't able to try any of the other items we ordered, as you can imagine, appetite ruined. Also the dumplings we didn't eat were in one of the bags that normally have the soup crunchy things, couldn't get them out whole. That aside, pee in the soup, enough said. Change the oil in fryer!!! Wings had the off taste of bad old oil and over fried, the wontons have a pinch of filling and bad oil, over fried too. The egg drop soup was gelatinous too much corn starch but, even worse, no flavor. Egg rolls ok, again over fried in old oil. Won't order again too many other and better options. read more

We stopped here after a Walmart trip of course! They look like they are only doing take out right now but that's what we wanted. We had pepper steak, hot and sour soup & eggrolls. It was all great. My favorite Chinese place! It is very quick and easy, and the food is so FRESH. The portion sizes are very large for reasonable prices. It is served family style and you cannot go wrong so order whatever ( I recommend Mongolian beef and hot & spicy soup). The service was fast and the establishment is clean and simple. I have loved this place for years now. My favorite meal is hot braised chicken. It's consistently tasty and reasonably priced. Today was no different. My wife and I both chose hot braised chicken to go. It was still hot when I got home. Delicious. I'd say this is the best restaurant of its kind anywhere around. Let me start off by saying that I am not the most reliable reviewer for this, because Chinese is my least favorite food in the entire world and my husband usually has to drag me here kicking and screaming. That being said, the second to last time I came here, I got so sick we had to rush home so I could mess in the privacy of our own bathroom. My husband refuses to believe it was due to the food here but, whatever. It wasn't pleasant. I think I'd had the Lo Mein. The last time we came was surprisingly by my suggestion. My pregnancy cravings were demanding orange chicken. I was disappointed in it; there was just something about the taste that was off, even though it was clearly freshly made and my husband insisted it was delicious. But he loves everything he gets here, so no surprise there. If you're into Chinese, I think like him you'd enjoy this place. I will say that the egg drop soup is always delicious, and the staff are always smiling and super welcoming and nice. That counts for a lot. read more

Lo mein was OVER cooked, noodles are extremely soft almost like mush and barely any flavor( along with all other items ordered). Hot and sour soup is bland. I've had far better Chinese from Panda Express. But I guess if you don't like food to have flavor of any kind this is the place you want to go. Will never order/eat here again. read more

Overall a good little place to eat. This small little oriental eatery is ran by a husband and wife team. The portions are plentiful made to order hot and fresh. They do a lot of takeout business but I decided to just dine in. I wasn't expecting much from this place, yet was pleased with my order. I ordered the spicy chicken with vegetables and asked for as spicy of a dish as they could get. I love hot and spicy dishes. Unfortunately the dish wasn't really that spicy, but it was good. Fresh broccoli, carrots, bamboo shoots, baby corn, water chestnuts and snap peas accompanied with flash fried chicken and tossed with a spicy sauce and served with a choice of white or fried rice. The portion was way too much for me to eat but I have it my best effort. The fried rice was OK yet didn't have too much flavor, nothing a little lite soy sauce can't handle. The service was what I expected from a small mom and pop Asian restaurant. Attentive but just not overly professional. At least the server was attentive. She was an order taker but kept my tea glass full. She was studying for school at another table which gets my not overly professional vote. Hey what can one expect from a small town Chinese eatery.. For the last 14 years this was my favorite/go to Chinese restaurant. I'm still giving it 3 stars because it's still a decent place. The service is great, and the food was always delicious. It seems over the last 8 months they are slipping a bit. The hot and sour soup is now essentially hot and sour flavored egg drop soup. You'll be hard pressed to find any veggies, tofu, or meat in the soup anymore. I actually mentioned this to them a few times but it didnt make a difference. They also had a major menu change a few months ago and took many great items off of the menu, including what I thought was outstanding egg foo young. They also are serving their sodas by the can now and charge for refills. The food is still good but it doesnt seem they put the effort in that they used to, which is a shame because this was a great place. Time to find a new Chinese restaurant to frequent. Although I'm sure I will stop in occasionally to see if there is any improvement. read more

I've eaten in many Chinese restaurants in Atlanta and the surrounding area, most of which were more expensive than Oriental Kitchen that weren't nearly as good as this humble little restaurant in Winder, Barrow County, Georgia. If you are looking for atmosphere, don't bother here, or clean up the old home place, get the food to go and enjoy it there, because the ambiance is more akin to Mickey D's than to romance and privacy. But...if you want really good food, in a place that is immaculate (I think the last inspection score I saw there was a 95 or 94), at decent prices? Gee thee to Oriental Kitchen. Post haste. My favorite dishes are the shrimp dishes. Don't have the menu in front of me, so I can't remember the name or the number, but they are ALL excellent. I don't know where these guys get their shrimp or how they make a profit on a dish that has a zillion veggies with nearly as many huge, cooked but still tender shrimp, but I am very, very glad these dishes are on the menu. Honestly, I've worked in some pricey restaurants, in the kitchens in fact, of some snooty-hooty Atlanta restaurants and what we served as prawns were smaller than these shrimp. If I wanted to make it at home, It would cost me more than they charge just to buy the shrimp. No, I don't work there, I'm sure not getting paid to publish this (if I were, I'd be ordering more shrimp dishes from here than I already do!) and I know no one affiliated with the restaurant, I'm just a very tough critic who enjoys great food prepared and served in a clean restaurant. Oh, btw, they do not serve any alcohol. The first time we went there, we asked about it and kinda got the 'Ugly Stare, sort of like your elderly Baptist aunt when you ask her for a glass of wine to go with her two-week old tuna casserole. We opted for spring rolls, got the rest of food to go and ate at home so we could have all we wanted to drink and not be a hazard on the road, so all was well. read more

The food is good. Very pricey for Chinese food. I was a faithful customer for years, but I will not be back. I had a coupon that if you ate a certain number of meals you would get a free meal. So I filled up the card and when I went to get my free meal that said "sorry but it expired yesterday." Wtf YESTERDAY?! That is not a good way to do business. I walked into Oriental Kitchen completely starving until I was seated and realized the scent in the air smelled strongly like a bathroom that hasn't been cleaned in weeks. My appetite died. I sat with my family, ordered our food, and literally three minutes later, our food came. We all thought it was a little too fast, and saw that the quality of the food tasted quite old. One of the dishes was entirely drenched in grease. And one of the other dishes, the "Triple Delight" was more like "triple disappointment". The meat was soggy and drenched in sauce. So tonight they don't ask for refills and then after my bill came to 35. I paid 10 in cash which left my balance to 25.36 my card was charged 30. Um no so I called and spoke to the manager.
