Once we entered we were greeted sweetly and got seated fairly quick. Food came out pretty quick as well and tasted so good. The fis was my favorite. I know the owners used to own Mamak and I missed the original recipes.

Fried rice - tofu and veggies

Nice little family run restaurant in Sugar Hill area! We had Chow KwayTeow and Fried rice both with tofu and veggies. Both dishes were delicious and freshly made. The noodles were a bit under seasoned but the spicy sauce they provided was enough to make it pop. Restaurant was clean and water/utensils are self serve. Service is friendly and efficient. A decent addition to this area that is so full of chain fast food and casual restaurants. The restaurant is located in a large strip with ample parking on the corner of Buford and Nelson Brogden Road.

If you're looking for an authentic family-run restaurant that provides delicious food, great service, and very reasonable prices and portions, this is your place! I loved Kari House and will definitely return--maybe weekly. :) The host was extremely friendly and hospitable, and continued to help us with water, napkins, and whatever we needed while we ate. The food was excellent! Teh Tarik was delicious and sweet, reminded me of Milk tea but of a greater concentration of tea. I loved the roti canai and will order extra roti next time, it was crunchy, hot, and chewy, definitely fresh. The Laksa noodles were delicious but the standout to me was the Chicken Rice, which was cooked perfectly tender and the accompanying rice was flavorful and moist. If you don't like skin on chicken, be aware that this dish authentically leaves the skin on. The sauces were a great addition to an already delicious meal. They have a lunch special on weekdays that I highly recommend, great value at $18 and comes with three items! Can't wait to go back!

Garlic okras

Got lost and stumbled upon a hidden gem. The restaurant was located in a big shopping center with plenty of parking. The place was simple, clean, and plenty of tables. The menu was displayed on TVs but the girl at the register said that they're working on getting printed menus. I ordered the garlic okras and absolutely loved it! I love okras in general but the garlic flavor mixed so well with the okras. Okras still had a crunch to it. I had leftover and brought it home and my parents tried it and absolutely raved about it. I also had the laksa and it was full of flavors! Creamy and rich. Finished the whole bowl and wish I had order some Togo. If I'm around the area, I would stop and order other dishes.

Wow! Just WOW! we drove quite a ways to try this place based on its reviews and it was well worth the drive! The staff was friendly and helpful. The store itself was clean and neat and the food was incredible! We tried the steamed dumplings, the garlic okra, the garlic, green beans, and my husband had the Kari Laksa with tofu and veggies. Everything was so delicious! The okra and the green beans had a lot of garlic and were cooked perfectly. The dumplings were very good. And the Laksa was a very rich curry with fresh veggies, and tofu. We will definitely be back anytime we are in the area!

This is one of my favorite places to eat and whenever my father asked me where I want to eat as a reward I choose this place. Kari House is delicious. I usually order the curry chicken the roti canai and the the tarik. 5 stars

Checked out the opening of kari house and I'm so happy I drove all the way here to eat! They just opened recently and all their dishes were amazing! We got the wok fried noodles, laksa noodles, garlic okra, chicken gu lou and a special egg noodles that aren't on the menu. The laksa noodles were so good, the noodles were al dente, came with lots of vegetables, chicken and the soup was so fragrant and had a hint of spice. The garlic okra was fragrant and so fresh! The vegetables were so crispy and crunchy as well. The chicken gu lou was covered in sauce! The sauce was sweet and sour and was the perfect combination over rice. The wok fried noodles were so fragrant and it was full of flavor. The noodles were so good and came with lots of protein and a good amount of bean sprouts. The egg noodles had so much sauce and was so good, it also came with tons of protein . The teh Tarik was perfectly sweet and a good combination with our food. It was so refreshing and delicious. The service was so nice and friendly! They helped us order our dishes and gave us great suggestions. The space was so clean as well.

The thought of Roti Kanai always makes my mouth water. It's a simple dish, but incredibly delicious. This small restaurant is clean, fast, and has great service. The Roti Kanai was, as always, fantastic, but the other dishes were just average. I wouldn't recommend the fish bowl. We were expecting a more traditional Malaysian style for the kari fish and mango shrimp, but both were batter-fried, which was a surprise. Overall, it was a positive experience, and we'll likely return to try some of their other menu items.

This is definitely my comfort food place, I love coming here because of how friendly the staff is and just how enjoyable the place is. The food is always so flavorful and the drinks always hit the spot ‍ I got the basil chicken with Teh Tarik to sip on AGHHH TOO GOOD!!!! My girlfriend got the Chow Kway Teow with a nice cold coke, hit the spot. I've tried just about everything on the menu so far, I'm excited to try the Gu Lou Chicken next time

Excellent Malaysian food can be found at Kari House in Sugar Hill / Buford. The restaurant is in an unassuming shopping plaza and parking is a little tricky as most available spots are time restricted from a few minutes to 1 hour, but don't let that deter you from coming to excellent Kari House. My friend is more familiar with Malaysian food and said their food was legit and tasted very high quality and authentic. Me not being that familiar with Malaysian food asked for recommendations from the cashier who made excellent suggestions and I was happy with our entire meal. The main dish was large enough to take some home. Prices were a bit high but the quality and authenticity of this restaurant made the meal worth it. High marks and a thank you to Kari House for a delicious meal. 5 stars and a we will be back!

Thai Tea

Kari House is a new edition to the ever expanding Asian cuisine around the northern metro Atlanta area. Kari House specializes in Malaysian & Thai cuisine which pushes an emphasis on spices that blend perfectly well. The service here is absolutely amazing and one of the reasons I have come back! The food is relatively affordable considering the rising prices of neighboring eateries, the food is high quality and plentiful, and a wide variety of food options for all to choose.

Chow Kway Teow with Shrimp

After reading about all the Singaporean delicacies described in decadent detail in the "Crazy Rich Asian" trilogy, I finally get a taste of Malaysian cuisine right here in Atlanta at Kari House. The traditional Hainanese Chicken was tender and delicious as was the fragrant rice. The Chow Kway Teow was slightly spicy and loaded with flavor. Our server knew we were first timers and gave us great advice, service and a specially made "not as sweet as typical" Lychee Thai Tea. We will definitely be back to try more of this amazing made from scratch Malaysian cuisine.

Hainanese chicken with garlic rice and Kari curry fish balls

We came to try the Hainanese chicken, and it was perfect! I noticed that the four tables that came in after me all ordered the Hainanese chicken as well. They sold out of it (it was around 6PM). If that's what you're wanting to come eat specifically I'd suggest calling ahead. We asked for extra serving of the garlic rice because it was so good. Also tried the mango chicken and Kari curry fish balls. Lots of parking available and quick service.

Our 2nd time here. Me and my girlfriend love it here. Totally recommended. Staffs are friendly and service is great!

My favorite was definitely the Pork Chop Dry Pot! The pork was tender, the dish was well seasoned, and it wasn't overly spicy even though it looks quite spicy. The noodles were solid, would definitely order again. The Mapo Tofu was a little lacking in flavor in my opinion, but still a decent dish. All dishes came out in fairly large portions! I really wish I lived closer so that I could come more often - finding good chinese food in ATL is a little tough, so I'm so glad to have tried Hunan Garden. Prices are also very reasonable! The service is good! Usually chinese restaurants don't have the greatest service, but they were good about refilling our waters and not rushing us once we were done with our food. The food also came out pretty quick! Highly recommend!

Tried all the popular dishes and some weren't bad, but nothing jumped out as being worth trying again. One positive was the portion sizes were quite large for the price and in general is something I miss about dining in Georgia, so you definitely won't go hungry. The service was pretty disappointing. I'm not expecting top-notch at small spots like this but felt the staff was actually rather rude as opposed to just being purely inattentive. Overall it was an ok experience but given the abundance of Chinese-based restaurants in the area, probably won't be back anytime soon.

This dish is lightly battered fried shrimp with a soy sauce bases sauce with red pepper and black pepper spices. It also features other sautéed veggies like green peppers and onions. The shrimp were spiced nicely, but also had the flavor of black pepper coming through. A lot of places don't get that right. The perfect mix of that spice red pepper heat and hint of black pepper are exactly why I love about this dish. The shrimp were fried perfectly and the veggies deliciously sauted. The Haemul Jjampong was a flavor and spice bomb. The broth was so flavorful and had a great essence of the seafood in it (squid, mussels, abalone). This soup is also for people not afraid of the spice...it was SPICY, but no so much that it was unenjoyable. The spice complemented the flavor and I loved it. The take-home of the leftovers was just as good the next day! If I had to say anything that they might think of changing, would be the addition of kimchi to the banchan. The banchan was ddanmuji (pickled radish, raw white onions, marinated white onion slivers, and soy marinated peanuts). A little plate mat kimchi to wrap around the Jjampong noodles would be perfection.
