I drove by here all the time in the two years I have lived in Cumming. The weird thing is that I have tried two other spots going to the Sugar Hill direction, and both of those places are very underwhelming. I had a meeting with a customer at NoFo this week, and I realized after there was no food I was into. So on the way home I stopped in here and asked to be seated. I was the only one there, which was slightly concerning at first. I was hungry, I ordered egg rolls, and then the tangerine beef and fried rice. The egg rolls are what you'd expect, crispy and texturally perfect. I like adding a touch of soy sauce to get more salt in. Helped bring out some of the vegetable flavors more. The tangerine beef was spectacular. The portion was large, and I shouldn't have eaten it all, but there was no going back. The side of fried rice was great, I usually don't eat rice because of diabetes- but blood sugar be damned. Definitely tough to see this location as it is set back behind Walgreens. But I am glad I decided to finally stop and try this. The food was piping hot and service was great. I certainly will be back to get some takeout soon, as they are head and shoulders ahead of the other offerings on Cumming Hwy. Support Small businesses! read more

Sadly, they just underwent a very sudden change in ownership + kitchen staff, and are now undergoing a learning phase. I ate there last week, and everything was phenomenal as usual. I ate there today, and it was painfully clear the restaurant I've loved for years is dead and gone. In my first ever conversation with new ownership I was lied to my face stating the kitchen staff and recipes were all the same as if I've not eaten there 200 times by now. My go-to drink (Thai iced tea) came out undrinkably sweet, then came out a second time basically a cup full of creamer. My curry was inedibly salty, and all ingredients were set separately as if I'm eating a school lunch on a tray and not a curry dish; it was evident the cook had never prepared a curry in their life. I did not drink or eat more than a few sips and a few nibbles, then refused my meal and left hungry. Steer clear. read more

In the Yelp world there are no half stars for reviews, so I am sitting here seeking some kind of divine guidance as I decide how to rate Asian House. Three stars? (a-ok) or four stars? (yay! I'm a fan) My fortune cookie was no help. "Man with hole in pocket feel cocky all day" I'm not a big fan of restaurants trying to offer all the various Asian cuisines, in this case Chinese and Thai, as usually one or more just miss the mark. In the case of Asian House, the Thai offerings are the losers here. The Pad Thai in particular is tasty, but not Thai. Most dishes are done well, but not necessarily worth a long drive. The interior is functional, not fancy. Service is equally functional not friendly. In a parallel Yelp universe Asian House would be a solid 3 1/2 stars, but in our world I'll have to go with a 3. The food is always hot and delicious. I always get vegan noodles or rice. And crab rangoon. The service is great and they are always friendly. I've never sat down inside of the restaurant but the from desk is clean and tidy. I was there while the ownership changed. The sweet and sour chicken was very good and generous amount of chicken. But the Mongolian beef had way to much onion to beef ratio, the Singapore rice noodles were dry and the fried rices, we got two different ones. The rice was undercooked and pretty tatstless. In addition there is no bell on the door so waited 10 minutes for someone to come from the back as my to go order sat infront of me getting cold. read more

Got take-out food from here one time recently. The portions are really good. There is enough for 2 days (even if you have 3 people) The thai tea is really good. The fresh basil rolls were meh. We have had the egg rolls, Thai basil rolls, crab wontons, coconut shrimp soup, sesame chicken and masaman curry. All very good, made fresh and with some unique flavors. I used to love this place because they offer both Thai and Chinese. They had me covered for either craving or both depending on my mood. LI have ordered delivery from here several times before with no issue. Last night my delivery driver threw a fit that my house was too far from the restaurant. I had never been told this before. I figured my grub hub app would not let me order from there if it was too far. I am still trying to figure out the problem. Was her asking for more tip or just feeling cranky because the rain was crazy. I presume he wanted me to feel bad for him. He mostly just ruined dinner. He will get what he wants though I won't be ordering from Asian house again if this is how they treat their customers. The food arrived hot and tasty as always so I just don't know. Everything I have tried is amazing. It's your typical chinese / asian take-out but they are better than the rest in the area! I have them deliver to Sugar Hill area all the time. Delivery can take up to an hour but worth it if you don't want to leave the house. I tried the following, all which were great: Sesame Chicken General Tso Chicken Saschwan Beef Fried Rice Miso Soup Wonton Soup Egg Rolls Orange Chicken (the sauce is made on the side, you pour it on) This beats Great China and China House hands down, for this area. This place is truly one of the best places to eat at in the Cumming area. A real diamond in the rough. If you're looking for scrumptious, quick Thai or Chinese take-out that is so incredibly lush you won't want to share, look no further. If you happen to live in the Cumming area and enjoy a good Thai meal, you probably already know that most of the Thai places around here are awful. My partner and I took a chance and ordered from here late one Sunday evening and boy are we glad we did. The woman who answers the phone is very pleasant and will make every effort to accommodate you. (We're vegetarians and sometimes it's difficult to find places that will substitute tofu for chicken, that sort of thing.) The prices are very reasonable and the portions are epic. The food, naturally, is the best part. The spring rolls are simply out of this world. We've tried most every curry they serve and you really can't go wrong with any of them. (The green is our favorite. WITHOUT CELERY.) We always order the Pad Thai! It is truly some of the best in the Atlanta area. The General Tso's sauce is just incredible! It's got a wonderful balance between the sweet and spicy. Yum! Yum! We've only ever ordered take-out, however the inside is very clean and charming. I have been looking all over Atlanta for good New York style Chinese food and have been disappointed in just about all of them. Asian House was a pleasant surprise. The food is pretty good and fairly close to the flavors I remember. I've spoken to the owner and he is from Long Island, so he is familiar with what NY style Chinese food should taste like. The Thai food is so so, but the Chinese is better than any other place I've eaten at in the Atlanta metro area. The egg rolls and the soup are great. The entrees are pretty good (my wife loves their orange chicken). The Lo Mein is very good as well. We've tried a few of the other entrees and they are good enough to keep us coming back. The only issue we've had is they tend to forget stuff if you get take-out, so check your bag or box before you leave to avoid a 2nd trip back. read more

1st time here and was very pleasantly surprised, place is small but very clean and nice decor! Service both friendly and prompt. We shared the house special rice which was loaded with chicken, shrimp, and pork, this alone was a meal for two. The crab rangoons were sinfully delicious for an appetizer. Main courses were the sweet and sour chicken and General Tso's chicken, big portions of both and lots of leftovers to go! We are already planning next week's visit, little gem of a place hidden in a strip plaza just off 20 in Cumming. I have ordered delivery from here on several occasions and have always loved the food. I usually get General Tso's or Schezwan Chicken with fried rice. The food always comes quickly and steaming hot. On a few occasions they have even given us extra food for free, be it egg rolls or soup, which is great because who gives free anything these days? Pleasantly surprising. And crunchy sweet fortune cookies, which is always my favorite part :P Recently we dined in for the first time. The decor is simple, cozy and clean. One app and entree cost about $15 (tip not included) and was fresh and yummy, and more than enough for 2-3 meals for one person. The lady even brought us a sliced orange at the end of our meal which again, was very nice of them and a good way to end the meal :) Everyone there was friendly and they even boxed up the leftovers for us themselves. Use to go across the river to Sugar Hill, but the Chinese place changed ownership and was never the same. So, tried this place - many times at this point. When we're getting Chinese food delivered, we're not expecting a 5 star culinary experience - not that I am faulting AH with what they cook. It's take out. Would you criticize McDonald's for making a burger? That said... Every time we have ordered from this place (I usually go delivery): = order is correct = food is HOT = recipes are tasty Just be warned - every time I have ordered they have missed the estimated delivery time - early by at least 30 minutes. I will usually order shrimp fried rice or lo mein when I am trying a Chinese restaurant, for the first time. These are basic dishes that most Chinese restaurants do really well. This is my first time trying Asian House and I ordered the Shrimp Lo Mein. Sorry to say the noodles reminded me of giant over-cooked ramen noodles. The shrimp and the spring roll I added was good. I may give them another try on another dish, since overall the meal was tasty, just wish the noodles were prepared better. Oh and the fortune cookie was stale. read more

The first time I ordered from here the food was good, delivery was quick, and delivery guy was friendly. So, my son wanted Japanese style chicken tonight so I ordered it from here. I asked several times for extra sauce as my son won't eat the chicken without it. It shows up, delivery guy didn't say a word to me (regretting that tip I gave), the chicken I got was plain grilled chicken swimming in teriyaki sauce, and they gave me no sauce at all. I have lived near this restaurant for 13 years and keep trying it hoping management will change or something would change. Tonight I decided to try it again 2 days ago after about 2 years and was sorry I did. The noodles were so tasteless and dry I wasn't able to eat them. The soup was very salty and disappointing . Very good crab rangoons & the broth in the wonton soup is so so flavorful & fantastic! My only disappointment was inside the wontons, there was basically no meat hardly at all ): They are beautifully made and very pretty but with only two wontons in the small soup, it left me wanting more since it was basically just a noodle. I never rate things or ever make reviews. I've worked/work in customer service so I know how it goes. However, I ordered my food from here off of GrubHub. The delivery guy at my door told me, "It was too far of a drive" and that I "should order fast food" and I told him, I understood that, but sometimes I'm just craving Asian food. I live in an area that doesn't have much options to eat. I know on Grubhub and Door Dash if a restaurant was too far to be delivered to you, it TELLS you that it is too far of a radius. I ordered from another restaurant a couple weeks ago through GrubHub with the same miles away and the guy came here quick, with no problems, or complaints. The food is alright. I'm tasting more of the crunch in my rangoon than the inside so I feel like I'm wasting money on that. I understand we all have to make a living and I get it, but customer service is everything. I just thought it was rude he was like "I drove around here, it was far, make a suggestion" I'm sure he meant well, but I even contacted GrubHub and they, themselves just told me that if they can't deliver to my house, then the app would say so. And if the restaurant didn't want to drive too far, I'd rather get a refund or have them call me and tell me about it. I was excited trying a new place, but I'm not sure how customer service is there. First impressions are everything. I'm sorry, but it is. The food is on par with what one would expect from one of those fast food "Chinese" places at Hartsfield, and the service doesn't measure up to that level of mediocrity. What a great place! Out of the way (you have to look for it in strip behind a Walgreens) you will not find better Thai food anywhere!
