I think I may have found my new Chinese restaurant in Kennesaw. During a recent visit to Publix I smelled something good in the parking lot and realized it was coming from Asian Fusion. I've been in the parking lot numerous times and never paid attention so I decided to check it out a few days later. They have Chinese, Japanese, and Thai food. I decided to go with the house lo mein and a Philadelphia roll. I didn't dine in, but the restaurant looked nice. My lo mein was really good. It had beef, chicken and shrimp in it with vegetables. I wanted to like this place, I really did. But it just wasn't meant to be. We went at around 5:30 on a week day. Place was dead, maybe two couples in there. Maybe this was my first clue. We ordered broccoli chicken and coconut chicken. My Mom (an elderly person) ordered soup as well. She ate a little of it and decided she'd take the rest to go. She didn't want to fill up before the entree arrived. I asked the server for a to go container for the soup. You would have thought we asked to sacrifice a virgin. The server sternly asked me thrice if I wanted a to go container. The wonton chips that came with the soup tasted like heavy oil. Not good. The mains came and neither were good. The broccoli was basically raw, the coconut chicken had zero flavor. Just fried chicken pieces served on pale lettuce leaves in a sauce that had no distinct flavor. Not sure what it consisted of but it wasn't good. The service was prompt but surly. The bill with a modest tip was $60 for two people. I would have found greater satisfaction handing the cash to a homeless guy. Seems like we're low on Asian restaurants in this area. It's hard for any restaurant to make their own egg rolls anymore. It also came with hot and sour soup which was good. The broth was good could have been more flavorful but I like mine a little more beefiness. But it was still good. The pad thai as someone else said was a different color than I was used to. This is an Asian effusion restaurant so some of the recipes would be different. The pad thai noodles were good the vegetables and chicken were very good the only difference would be the sauce. The sauce was slightly citrusy and although flavorful there was no underlying tie chili type flavor. More so notes of citrus lemon lime. As it stands on its own it was very good. Clean bathrooms, fast service, my husband raved about their food(Mushu so I had to go check it out but my food was not very delicious. There was I have a cup of oil poured over my food, that is just disgusting and inexcusable. I think the problem was I asked for spicy on a A holiday, New Year's Day and they didn't have their regular cook.
