We came here after going to Portal Pinball next door! You order at the counter, and staff was very friendly. The place was bright and inviting. And it didn't take long for us to get our order! I wanted to like this place since moving to this area and I went specifically for the Singapore Mei Fun. I ordered it and it was NOT GOOD. I don't know what flavoring they used for the Singapore Mei Fun but it's not the usual and it was watery, also high fishy smell. I tried again with General Tso chicken, rice not fully cooked and the chicken was hard pieces of...I'm not sure what, but it wasn't chicken. Good Chinese food for the area. If you live in Acworth/Kennesaw like me, then you know there are very limited options for Chinese food. Not just Chinese food, but all Asian cuisine period. I inherently compare all Chinese food to what I've had in Chicago's Chinatown. And it's not fair, but it's what I know. Asian Garden has your standard Chinese takeout staples, and they make it well. I have literally tried every single Chinese restaurant in a 15 mile radius because my husband and son love egg foo young and shrimp fried rice. I could probably try to make it, but I'd rather just find a place that makes it tasty. We have had gravy in colors ranging from yellow to black. I know. Very sus. Here it's brown. I called to place a to go order and the gentleman who answered the phone was very polite. The food took about 20 minutes and was ready by the time I showed up. The food is the standard fold-out menu that almost all strip-mall Chinese food places have; you know, the one that's sorted by the type of meat and has the little peppers to denote spiciness? However, this place is quality. The health inspection is a proud 100. Woohoo! The dining area is clean and welcoming; it is brightly lit and predominantly painted in light colors; soothing music is playing; the workers are very gracious and kind, and their English is superb. The food itself tastes wonderful. Other reviews have pointed out the inexpensive but good quality of the hot bar. Combo meals are $6.50, including a fountain drink. We've just moved to Acworth a few months ago, and having moved from Destin where you couldn't get a great Chinese meal if your life depended on it, we're delighted to come here and find high quality, delicious Chinese food with great portion size at Asian Garden. We're had several dishes, and all were outstanding, plus they have a great price on their Chinese Fried Chicken wings. If you've been to China and had authentic Chinese food, I understand that's a different ball game altogether, however by the standard of American style Chinese food that has been grafted for our palate, this is simply great food. The little bar lunch seemed to be ok, with $1.20 a scoop for take out or sit their boxes, but we decided to try ordering from the menu I ordered beef broccoli and my daughter ordered shrimp and vegetables, with a side order of crab Rangoon and spring rolls Both came out great, with the shrimp being very large and in great quantity (I counted like 12) and the beef tasted fresh and was more than the vegetable.
