Been to,the Greece E Spoon a few times... its ways good. Today I tried the Gyro Platter. Wow! The was a true meal...so much good food! On the menu they call it a deconstructed gyro. It comes with a bunch of gyro meat with all the sides, a pita cut into triangles, a huge cucumber side salad, a pile of greek fries and a something called a spanakopita (a greek spinach pie roll). Cost was $16, but well worth it! This meal is only offered to dine in customers, so plan on having a seat. Counter service was friendly and quick. Place is small, but clean and most of the tables view the street. If you are a gyro fan or just like good food, you should check this little shop out. If you are hungry, go for the platter! read more

As a Cheese Curd Aficionado-- when I stopped by Greece E Spoon for the first time, I had to have some! The cheese curds have brought me back time and time again with their rich and savory flavor. These are no joke! The brandy honey mustard was delicious and would swing by Greece E Spoon just to pick some up for home. Over complicated/engineered - Ruined Non-standard Classics I really, really want to like this place. I love the story of starting with a food truck and then opening up a store, but for a number of reasons, they are not able to match the hype in most of the reviews here. On this night, I just wanted a fresh falafel. I don't think there is any other place in Sheboygan that serves fresh fried falafel, so Greece E Spoon was where we went. I had their falafel once before, a few years ago, when they first started serving it. It was awful then. I bought it as take out and only discovered how bad it was after I got home. It was burnt on the outside and completely raw/mooshy uncooked paste on the inside. I just assumed it was a mistake since it was a new item on their menu. Fast forward to today. My wife and I had a hankering for some fresh falafel and both ordered it. It was very dark on the outside and to our suprise it was pasty wet moosh on the inside. I brought it to the cook's attention and he just replied "That's how we do it here, we don't cook it all the way through". I was gobsmacked and compared it to serving people dough when they order bread. I just got a blank stare back with no suggested resolution, so I asked if he could remake both our orders, but fully cook them both this time? He agreed to this and I sat back down. 20-25 minutes later, (and it wasn't at all busy) our order was up at the counter. They looked the same, or even slightly darker, nearly black this time, but once again just absolute pasty/raw/mush on the inside. I was incredulous but had already given up so I just picked at the toasted pita a bit. As we sat nibbling the pita, another worker asked how everything was. I just shook my head "No", as I had already died inside, but my wife let her know we still weren't happy with the done-ness of our falafel and that it was raw/pasty on the inside and the outside was over cooked. She let us know that that's how they do their falafel and it was probably because of the spinach they use in their recipe. Spinach in falafel? How can an item like this even be on a menu? It was clearly someone's brilliant idea and they are either the owner and won't be told how horrible it really is, or no one there has a spine and can't admit to themselves that this re-invented falafel just doesn't work. Again, I really, really want to like this place, but as with everything at Greece E Spoon, it's all just over complicated and engineered. Please, take my advice and keep things simple. Don't dream up a new recipe for falafel and serve it raw on the inside as if you've revamped falafel. Just do the classics in the classic manner. Your tzatziki is not bad, not the best, but good, but nobody needs 2/3 cup dumped on their chicken shish-kabob or gyro. Just serve people a gyro or chicken shish-kabob with tomatoes and onions and then let people put their own sauce on it. Over complicated fries are a problem too. Your Greek fries aren't bad but just plain salted fries would be better. Consider simplifying your items and I'm sure you'll improve business. Make a visit to Oakland Gyros in Milwaukee at Oakland Ave and Locust and order some items. This is what you should be striving to do. How can you even be asking to get on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives when you can't do the classics right? I'm really sorry if this is sounding harsh but it's clear that you're convinced you're doing things right but you really aren't. Also, get rid of the tips jar. Don't even ask for tips on your point of sale iPad device. I brought the food to my own table, I got my own drinks, I cleaned and bussed my own table. read more

Visiting and this place was recommended by locals so we stopped in for takeout given the limited seating inside. A very interesting menu but we were boring and opted for the classic gyro and their version of deep fried cheese curds. The gal at the counter was super helpful. The gyros were big and good but the meat was a bit dry. The "cheese curds" we're tough. Since they are made with the Greek cheese used for flaming it does not melt so you have a chunk of hard cheese in fried batter. Not a good combo. Overall just ok. read more

I've been here a couple of times now, and every time it has been absolutely fantastic. My girlfriend and I were (and still are) obsessed with the Gyros2Go food truck, and we're so happy that they have a brick and mortar location now. First, I love the decor. There's really cool murals on the walls. The menu is written on chalkboards in bright, different color chalks. There's a Zeus clock on the wall. There's even personal Greek touches from the family, including dishes and wooden spoons up on the wall. It's extremely small inside, so be prepared to get it to-go if the 6 or so tables inside are filled up. There's also a few two-tops outside. The service is fast, but there's no waiter service. They call your name from the counter, and you go and get it. When you're done, you drop your own plates off in the tub and call it a day. I really like that I'm not constantly waiting for servers and that it's in my own hands. The girls behind the counter are always polite, and it's always a pleasure when the owner, Greg, is working. He actually recognizes my girlfriend by name from how often we go to the food truck, which I really appreciate, that he takes the time to learn his customers and talk with them. I have yet to have a bad thing here. My girlfriend and I share our two favorite things to order here- a Zeus Gyro and Saganaki cheese curds. The cheese curds ($4.95) come 4 or 5 to an order, but they are huge pieces. They're battered pieces of Greek saganaki and come with a brandy honey mustard for dipping. The Zeus Gyro ($10.95) is the biggest, baddest, and best gyro that Greece E Spoon has to offer. It's double meat in a pita, and topped with onions, tomatoes, feta, hot peppers, tzatziki, and baklava bits. I know that last bit sounds weird, but it's an AMAZING touch. I love getting a little cinnamon nut burst in my gyros. It adds something to the gyro. The meat is always well cut into thin pieces, a nice mix of tender strips and the more crispy pieces (which are the ones I prefer, to be honest with you). This is our usual order, but their other foods are great too! The Santorini Salad ($8) is so refreshing. It consists of arugula, watermelon, feta, grapefruit, pomegranate seeds, pistachios, pickled red onion, and a white balsamic dressing. It sounds like a lot going on, but it somehow just works. It's sweet and salty, crunchy and juicy, and just delicious. My girlfriend has also tried the Pastitsio ($4.95) and really enjoyed it. Another side/app to try is the Greekamole, which is some heavenly mash up of Greek food and guacamole. It has lemon and garlic in it, and is served with pita triangles. To go with our meals, we always get malts, which are all $4. My favorite is Lemon Lavender, but my girlfriend prefers the Chocolate. Most recently, we tried Creamy Peach, and that was lovely too. They're smooth, creamy, and thick, but not too thick- you can still suck it up through the straw. Their baklava is on point, and I recommend that for dessert. They also have a feta cheesecake ($4.25)... Which isn't bad, but is definitely interesting. It tastes exactly how it sounds. It was supposed to come with rose jam, but when I ordered it they were out, so they topped it with pomegranate molasses instead. It didn't look as pretty, but it tasted okay. I don't think I'd order it again, however. All in all, this is possibly my favorite spot in Sheboygan to have a good meal. I wish it were open on Sunday and Monday too, but with how crazy busy they are I definitely understand the rest time- plus it just makes me crave it more come Tuesday. read more

Owner used Roma tomatoes, as I suspect he couldn't find decent slicing tomatoes yet this year, nice touch ! Better than a lot of Greek joints that I've eatin at in Chicago. Do yourself a favor and drive to this place for lunch or dinner! We drove an hour and half and it was worth every minute and penny spent! My boyfriend ordered the original gyro and he inhaled it. He loved it. I ordered the Greek nachos which included delicious fries with seasoning, giardiniera, feta, gyro meat, tomatoes and a delicious pile of homemade tzatziki sauce on top. My Husband and I tried this place while we were in town for the evening. We chose it because it was a fast-casual place and we were in a hurry. It's small, with relatively few tables for people to stay and eat at. You order at the register and pick up your food when they call your name. I ordered the spanakopita and Greece E Burger, my husband ordered one of their gyros. The spanakopita was delicious; I would definitely recommend it. My burger was also pretty good, though it was well done (to be fair, this is probably my fault as I didn't specify the temperature I wanted when I ordered). My husband loved his gyro. If we were in Sheboygan, we'd return here again to try some of their other items. read more

We ordered take-away from here over the weekend and I really hoped for better. We had the Greek fries with tatziki, and while the seasoning on the fries was decent, they were mushy and the tatziki was not very good. I'd like to note that I am super picky when it comes to Greek dips, and had tons of great options when I lived in NYC... then I wound up marrying a Greek guy whose family does a great job at these dips, so yes, I am biased. Another thing I really disliked: the pita bread was fried. How awful! Pita bread should be baked just enough to be firm but slightly pliant for the dips. The only thing I liked OK was the "Greek-a-mole" even though the next day my husband tried it and said it had too much garlic. The delux gyro was a disappointment. Just boring to me. I only had one bite though. My husband ate it and said it was OK. (His family doesn't make gyros though;) We also had the spanakopita which was OK. Again, I only took one bite but wasn't offended by it. They also mixed up part of our order: We ordered dolmades and they accidentally gave us hummus instead. I also didn't care for the hummus: taste or texture. When I called they offered to refund us the difference or for us to come by and pick up the dolmades, which was nice. The girl at the register was very sweet, and there is a long wait time, but it's a small kitchen, so that's easy to forgive. The decor is very cute and it's nice to have this option in town, especially for anyone who hasn't had the Greek food opportunities I've had. Props for using apple pay and having outdoor seating. Stopped in for lunch. Our group all had regular and chicken gyros that were delish. The tzaziki sauce was good and the feta they use was probably the best I've tasted at a typical Greek joint. This place is owner/family operated and they were very nice. My only criticism is they should pay a little more attention to the level of cleanliness in the dining area. If I still lived in the area, this would be a weekly visit! Hands down, the best gyro I've ever had in Wisconsin. If you haven't visited this place, you are missing out. The place is affordable and HIGH value for product and service. (They started as a food truck!) The atmosphere is casual and the interior features painted murals of Greek figures. The menu is displayed on a chalk board wall and desserts are featured on the counter. Drinks are by the can or bottle unless you opt for a milkshake (lemon lavender is++). As far as food: the tomatoes, onions, tzatziki, feta and lamb that come with their gyros exude freshness. If I had a recommendation, it would be the Deluxe Gyro. It's good for anyone who likes peppers for a mild kick. If you have a sweet tooth, the Zeus Gyro is sprinkled with baklava--a phyllo dough based pastry--atop more meat and friend onions. If you like carbs, they introduced a "nacho" option which is a HUGE bowl of cringle-cut fries with the same fixings as their gyro selection. They even have a VEGAN falafel to satisfy your friends and salads that are large and good for the consumer watching their carbs (salads come with warm pita slices!). If you have room, I would recommend trying the cheese curds. If you like the traditional flaming Greek cheese dish--saganaki--this restaurant transformed that into a beautifully golden cheese curd served with a brandy honey mustard. What would WI be without cheese curds? It's beer/vodka battered and has a buttery, but subtly sweet, texture...truly Wisconsin. All in all, excellent service from the staff. I've been wanting to try this place for long time. Don't make my mistake! Go here instead of choosing other options! My husband and I ordered the gyros and split a generous order of fries. The Zeus has double meat and is plenty for a big guy used to eating his fill. The smaller gyros order was still too big for me to eat in one sitting, but I'll have the leftovers for lunch. The meat was good with plenty of feta. The pita was outstanding. Lots of tzatziki sauce (yum). The tomatoes were tasty (I normally pick 'em off). I sound have requested more onions. THE best Greek in Sheboygan, no doubt. Their gyros are fantastic and have made a name for the place, but there are two other gems on the menu I've discovered recently. 1. The "Village Salad" is my new favorite. It's basically tomatoes and cucumbers cubed up with a light dressing. Add a meat (chicken is my pick) and BAM -- my go to meal. 2. Desserts -- ALL of them! Only a few are available each day, but every one I have had is the best I've had. My two favorites: carrot cake and butterscotch caramel salted cookie. We were on vacation at Sheboygan, WI, a pretty sweet town for a small vacation and kid friendly. We stopped at this place on the way back home. Have to appreciate the family atmosphere and pride the owner has in his Greek culture/background. The food tastes great, we loved the spin on some of the food options and making them unique vs every other Greek/ gyro place. We had the Greek gyro deluxe (recommend) , spinach pie (spanakopita), seasoned fries and pasticio. Myself being half-Greek loved it, but I think the pasticio was less (home-like) or authentic (you can't tweak it with ingredients and swap cheese/pasta base). The place is for a quick eat and a little small but PERFECT for lunch or pick up. Overall a very good eating experience! read more
