You need to stop here. We stopped for lunch and oh my goodness, I wish this could be my regular burger place! When you walk in, you order at the counter and then go around the corner to their dining area. We ordered the truffle boom and the Notorious P.I.G.- and we are STILL raving about them. Your drink and sides aren't included with the price, but we were able to split an order of shareable sidewinder fries between the two of us. Drinks are bottle options, but they also offer a large dispenser for a free water option. It is a very trendy style stop, really catering to someone on their lunch break, a family stop, or your group of friends meeting for a catch up session!

Unique restaurant in a great downtown location. Inside is clean and spacious with lots of interesting art on the walls. Fun atmosphere. Though the menu is a little limited (mainly burgers, panini's, salads and soups) I'm sure you will find something you will like. They also have ice cream! I've had the toasted cheese twice and tried their soups. Toasted cheese is basically a cheese panini (you can get meat on it) it was crisp and tasty and I would recommend any soup!

Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Work took me to Sheboygan (fun to say) and i just wanted to find a decent burger and, fingers crossed, hot crisp fries. To me, good French fries make an average burger better. Highly rated, a stop at the Local Press showed why. Casual atmosphere, happy employees, food cooked to order and served at the table, the Local Press Eatery was good news fit to print! The "sidewinder" fries were good enough to make the Juicie Brucie burger wait its turn but definitely still front page headlines!

Fried Cheese - huge and delicious!

The food! The atmosphere! The staff! It's is all amazing. We had a huge grilled cheese and and bacon sandwich, the Mac Daddy burger, large fried cheese, fried chicken sandwich, sidewinder fries, mac and cheese, and the Blue Jack burger. We stuffed ourselves because they food was so good we couldn't stop! Highly recommend and will come back, probably tomorrow

Great place for a true Smash Burger experience! I did my own creation: City Bakery roll, single Patty, bacon, blue cheese, egg, avocado & topped off with onion rings. Couldn't finish it all at once, great as a snack later. Will be back again soon!

    Press Classic with Cheese Curds.

Was passing through the area and in the mood for a non-chain burger. Yelp reviewers didn't disappoint - I really enjoyed the "Press Classic" burger and Garlic Breaded Cheese Curds. Next time I'm driving between Green Bay and Milwaukee I will absolutely detour through downtown Sheboygan to return for another meal.

Truffle Boom Burger and Truffle Fries, to go.

Went here for a Saturday lunch with my relatively picky daughter, who had been pushing me to try this restaurant ever since it opened. The restaurant owner has done a very nice job redoing the space originally occupied by Harvest Cafe. The kitchen is fully visible to you when you order, and looks clean and professionally run. Both the counter area where you order and the seating area looked sleek and spotless. The people behind the counter were both friendly and efficient, and I learned from them that the owner had previously worked at the American Club. We were able to place our order immediately, and observe the food being made. The wait was about 15 minutes, which was eminently reasonable for burgers made to order. My kid was blown away by what she ordered, the Truffle Boom burger and truffle fries. While she is not easy to impress, her commentary ranged from "Phenomenal! Five Stars!" to "OMG! This is amazing!" I was able to steal a couple bites of each from her, and I must agree. Really an outstanding burger, juicy and perfectly cooked, and delicious fries. We especially loved the roasted mushrooms topping. I had the tomato bisque and bread. The bread was lovely , lightly toasted with butter and seasonings. The soup I found a trifle herbal for my tastes. However, I finished every drop. I truly wish we were allowed to give half as well as full stars, as I would give them 4 1/2. I may revisit this ranking later, as I would like to check out the sandwich portion of the menu, as well as their shakes. I don't like to give out a perfect score based on one visit. But given the quality of what we had, I will definitely be back, and I will be recommending Local Press to everyone.

Ratings Overview: * Apple Maps: 92% approval (13 ratings)…read more* Google Maps: 4.3 stars (259 reviews) I visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening and was immediately struck by how empty it was--a concerning sign during prime dinner hours. The establishment has more of a bar-like atmosphere, which could work for some, but it didn't align with my expectations. Cost: * Total: $31.31 (plus a $5 tip) paid upfront--an unusual practice for a sit-down restaurant. Order placed at 6:25 PM. Wisconsin Cheese Curds, Taylor Street Deep Dish Pizza and a fountain drink. Food & Service Experience: Beverages The restaurant has a self-serve beverage station, which is fine in theory, but my experience left much to be desired. I initially chose orange Powerade, only to notice strange specks floating in the drink. I asked for a new cup and switched to lemonade, but this wasn't the best first impression. Wisconsin Cheese Curds ($8.99) I received the curds quickly, which suggests they were likely frozen. The plate contained 18 small curds--comparable to what you'd get at Culver's for less money. Unfortunately, the flavor didn't hold up either. They tasted starchy and lacked the authentic Wisconsin cheese curd texture, more akin to standard mozzarella sticks. Culver's does it better, both in quality and value. 10" Deep Dish Taylor Street Pizza ($14.69 + $5.99 deep-dish surcharge) The pizza arrived at 6:47 PM. First Impressions: It looked unappealing. The menu's photo looked promising , but what I received was burnt-red and sloppily assembled. * Upon lifting a slice, I noticed moisture pooling in the pan--unappetizing and a clear indicator of poor preparation. * The crust was a major disappointment. Thick and undercooked, it seemed rushed in the oven, likely at too high a temperature. It was unenjoyable and ultimately not worth eating. * The toppings were sparse and lacked flavor, except for the peppers, which gave their typical, spicy flavor. Even as a Wisconsinite, I found myself wishing there was less cheese. Overall, the pizza was mediocre at best. At $21, I expected something far superior. Instead, it reminded me of a $10 frozen pizza from Walmart. Additionally, when the pizza was brought to my table, the server handed me a serrated knife and fork with her bare hands. They weren't wrapped in a napkin as is standard at most restaurants. While I'm not much of a germaphobe, this felt like a lapse in proper hygiene and professionalism. Additional Notes: * The square table I sat at was unsteady, making it inconvenient to rest my arms or safely place drinks. * The orange drink I ordered had black specks in it, prompting me to switch to lemonade. Conclusion: The menu claims this is their "famous pizza," but if that's true, I'm left wondering why. Should I have tried the flat crust instead? If this is their flagship offering, it's easy to see why some people dislike this style of pizza. I didn't absolutely hate my meal, but I wouldn't hesitate to throw it away, especially considering the cost.

There is ample parking around the building and it's very accessible from the road. Upon entry there weren't super clear directions about waiting for a host or seating yourself - this is very much a place of regulars so the need probably doesn't often occur to answer this question, although it did happen to us and the visitor in front of us haha. We were eventually greeted by the waitstaff and asked to find a seat. It's a fairly small dining room, maybe 6-8 tables(?) and a couple of horseshoe shaped bars to sit at right amongst the action of the open kitchen. They were quite full with only 1 table open at the time. Having a front row seat to it all was really cool! The menu had really great options without being overwhelming. They even has Sprite Zero so I couldn't have been happier. We ordered a double cheese burger, two sides of fries, and a double cheesesteak burger. This was essentially just a slightly larger and thicker burger. Both were excellent and were able to customise to our heart's delight! The fries were a little under seasoned for my liking, but salt and pepper were available. The ranch wasn't anything special, just premade from a pouch. The special of the day was a burger and cup of soup/chili, and I think we definitely were missing out there. It was super popular in the time we were there and the chili smelled incredible. And considering how hot the day was, it must have been really good for people to keep ordering it. When it came time to close out or check, we realised there was a "cash only" sign on the register. I'm usually really good about seeing these things ahead of time or looking for them on the door. So I apologise if it was posted upon entry, as well, but I did not see any signage for that other than at the register. Thankfully they do have an ATM on site inside if needed. The next time we are in the area we'll be back to try some of these other specials and goodies!

I got seated right away, and everything from the friendly service to the quick turnaround (food hit the table in about 10 minutes) set the tone for a solid experience. I started with a cup of their cream of vegetable soup, and wow--this was the sleeper hit of the meal. Creamy, super flavorful, and seasoned so well that I didn't even reach for the pepper shaker (which is rare for me when it comes to cream soups). Just spot-on. For the main dish, I went with the hot turkey. It came out looking a little suspect--grill marks and a slightly dry appearance--but ended up being way better than expected. The turkey was actually tender and flavorful, and the gravy on top tied it all together. My only complaint? There wasn't enough of that gravy! A double portion would've taken it to the next level. Overall, Parkside is doing diner food right. Great place for a comforting, no-fuss meal. I'll definitely be back.
