Came here for dinner on a Friday night and the place was pretty busy - definitely very lively! We had a party of 5 and got a table without waiting which was nice, plus we got a solid seat in the corner of the dining room. Menu had a good mix of options and the service was super friendly. Food came out in reasonable time and flavors were fine - I enjoyed the fish fry and curds as an out of towner and overall, the meal was solid. Urbane has great craft cocktails in a beautiful bar space. Staff is helpful and friendly. Definitely a great place to stop and take break while you're out and about in Sheboygan. Alas, I have not eaten here yet, but the menu is varied and looks interesting. read more

Very good good!! We were visiting the area last week and were hit and tired. Stepping into Urbane we could rtell it was very popular! Tuesday is trivia night! We each had a beer they were great! Then we shared the red pepper soup, awesome and shared the Greek bother with rosemary fries which were both excellent! I would def recommend! read more

Fun place with great drinks and food. Bartenders and servers were uniformly friendly and v knowledgeable of the offerings. Good craft beer selection included local brewery 3 Sheeps. Watching them make drinks from fresh cut fruit was hypnotic. Everyone was hustling. Great to see. Food was good too. We shared an artichoke dip that was piping hot and had a nice kick. Will not be back..drinks were horrible, steak sandwich was ordered medium rare came overcooked, meat dried out, why ask if it's not made to order. Menu is not acurate..be more specific on portions. We did not eat as it was late. It was our final stop of the evening for a couple of martinis and beers. We enjoyed both and the bar staff were very friendly, fun and attentive. EXCELLENT! We're in town visiting family and what's more perfect for Friday night than "fish fry"? It's something we love but not what we normally eat. We prefer batter dipped to breadcrumb and Urbane did it perfectly. Even with takeout, the fish was hot, still crispy and not oily. The three large pieces were meaty and delicious. Perfect!! And the fries- rosemary salted to delicious perfection- not too heavily seasoned- just right. The coleslaw was different from what we usually get (although maybe typical here?) and again, delicious. No Mayo, just a light vinegar base, but not like ones I've had which were obnoxiously acidic. I didn't eat the tartar sauce but heard raves about it:) Highly recommend! We selected this restaurant because we had a vegetarian in our group, and it popped up as a vegetarian option. I want to start by the building... It is so cute! Their historic building is set on the corner of a very busy historical Sheboygan Street. Walking into the building, you can't help but notice the shotgun style and the gorgeous, coved ceilings! The staff was super friendly, and the drinks were different and amazing! I had a new old-fashioned, but with a twist. It reminded me of a Manhattan. It was so cool tasting, that I actually took a picture of it on the menu, and sent it to my husband. I'm hoping he can somewhat duplicate it. The food was very good! It isn't your typical bar food... Seating has become a Friday or special dinner issue. The few tables that have are increasingly marked as reserved several hours later than what we usually go there to dine. Not sure why they limit the use of their dining tables to one sitting for the evening???It's frustrating to where we have walked out a few times and went to the Ale Haus instead. Environment has also become much louder recently when everyone is drinking and yelling over each other. Not as warm, comfortable and pleasant as it once was. read more

We come here for the fish fry on Fridays. It is huge, you could split it between two people if you weren't massively hungry.

Wow! What a delicious dinner from urbane. We got the Friday fish fry, three large pieces of fish beer battered with a big portion of rosemary sea salt fries, coleslaw, and tarter. The fish was juicy and lightly battered but crisp (stayed crisp on the drive home!) with a good flavor. The fries were wowza, super delicious and crunchy with that lovely rosemary flavor. Even the lemons slices were good and not dry! The tarter was garlicy and not too thick, I loved it. I don't eat coleslaw, but it was enjoyed and described to me that it was probably not mayo based and had almost a sauerkraut flavor. My brother got the hangover burger and he's absolutely converted to fried eggs on burgers now. It was huge, too. If we lived in town I bet we'd be back every Friday! read more

Went to Urbane Saturday evening on our yearly trip to Sheboygan. Three of us, all senior age. Had a small appetite, so I ordered off the small plate menu: Fish Taco and a drink. "Fish taco",I stated clearly. Food came, and there were two tacos on the plate. One bite, and I realized it was a shrimp taco. Next time by for the server, I mentioned my order of a fish taco, and I didn't need it now as I would eat the Shrimp - just charge me the $9 as I ordered. Left one shrimp taco untouched (small appetite). She said there is no fish taco on the menu!! What?? "Oh, that" she said of the small plate section. Manager comes to the table: problem here? Just a miscommunication I said, just charge me my drink and the $9. "she said you pointed to the specials on the separate placard: jerk shrimp tacos $19". What?? What?? Bill comes: two fish tacos for $18!! Only ate one shrimp taco (small appetite). Blood pressure hits sky high. What a jerk move by server and manager. Paid cash and left my friends sitting there as I went outside and chose not to be a pissed customer on a nice Saturday night. You're welcome Urbane. read more

I had a takeout Irish dinner (corned beef and cabbage) and it was very good and the serving size was generous.

Service was 5 star. Pleasant and friendly. Food was excellent and very tasty. Have been here before and will be back

I wanted to love this place, but didn't. The bar area is very cool looking and have a good array of beer and whiskeys. Nothing amazing, but enough variety to make it work. The food is pretty much sandwiches and burgers. The menu was interesting, but the real fall down was the service. Our waitress had very little menu knowledge and was fairly inattentive. If she was really busy, ok, but she was not and we saw her standing around talking to other servers . We had to ask for water refills often and the food was never checked on until we were finished eating. Had we needed something, she would have never known. We were told that it is 60/40 locals / tourist. If so on a Friday night it was not that busy. Lots of places around, and Yelp is strong so if you don't pay attention to the details the tourist part will slow or stop. read more

If you are looking for places to eat in Sheboygan it's easy to be drawn to the hit-or-miss places. I personally choose Urbane over Pier 17 or some with fancy names. Here's why: First, Urbane has terrific service. Every time I eat there (5+) I have been greeted like I'm an old friend. For a traveler that feels good. Second, Urbane has a wonderful menu. Fresh foods!! They're not serving pre-prepared, plastic foods. My small plates and entrees have always been prepared according to my unique dietary specifications. Their spices and sauces are obviously the creative work of a great chef. Further the chef has been very responsive to what I'm hoping to experience. I'm grateful. Perhaps no one will relate to this but I can relax at Urbane unlike other places. I don't mind The Black Pig but their menu never (ever) changes. Urbane has something new and different every time I visit. Today I tried the Napa salad which compelled me to write a review. It was amazing. It was light and nutritious. Great flavor! I also tried the sweet potato chips. Fabulous! Very different from the usual in-house chips. These were super thin with a light touch of balsamic glaze. I can't believe I ate so many! read more

This is probably my favorite place to go in Sheboygan. When you walk in, it's a very welcoming environment- something I worry about in bars. But everyone is very friendly, the dark colors are warm and inviting. It's a very relaxed, chill vibe about the place. Their drink menu is immaculate. It's PAGES long, and they're all freshly muddled and made with care. Not to mention that they're delicious and so reasonably priced. You won't go broke drinking here, but you'll also get great quality. Food-wise, I've never had anything bad here. The cheese plate is always good. The burgers are great. They always have specials, which I've yet to be disappointed in. It's a great place for adults to go and unwind in an upscale-feeling setting, with affordable prices. read more

Second time there in as many years, it was just OK. Outstanding location, seriously, sunset cocktails/dinner, no better place. Food was adequate, in a town with no shortage of amazing grinds, chef has to up the game though. Craft cocktails are a great idea if you can pull it off....Urbane has not perfected it yet though, in a city of 2/$5 OF's, but they have their audience. A friend and I visited Urbane for the first time this evening. We were trying to find a cool place to eat with a good vibe, and Urbane certainly delivered in that respect. It was hopping when we walked up, and we were seated right away. My friend ordered The Violet Martini (she said it was really good) and I had basil lemonade (delicious, but I wish there were free refills - I drank it so fast!). For an appetizer we had the Cuban Cigars, which were little egg roll wrappers filled with the ingredients of a Cubano sandwich. They were sprinkled with powdered sugar (sounds weird, but it was good) and served with a spicy brown mustard. They were good but not amazing. For my entree, I had the Friday fish fry. I chose panko instead of beer batter (and I wish I had gotten the beer batter) for the breading on the cod, with rosemary fries. It came with two tiny triangles of marble rye, a cup of coleslaw, and some seriously good tartar sauce. The fish was well cooked, but the panko breading was flavorless and needed a heavy squeeze of lemon. The fries had a good rosemary flavor, but were extremely salty. The coleslaw was AMAZING - vinegar dressing rather than creamy, and just really fresh and yummy. That was the star of the show, however. My friend ordered the roasted red pepper chicken sandwich with sweet potato chips (that have a balsamic reduction glaze). The chips were super thin, which made them have a yummy texture, but some of them were super soaked in the balsamic. The chicken breast on the sandwich was absolutely huge, so it was really hard for my friend to eat. Overall, great ambience and drinks, and it was around $60 (including tip) for just the two of us, yet the food wasn't outstanding. We would return just for drinks next time. read more

Sheboygan needs a place like this. Their happy hour is buy one get one house wine/rail. The wine they fill generously & then you get two. Definitely worth it for that. I wish they had specials on their specialty drinks. That is why they're not getting 5 stars. The drinks are good but pricey for Sheboygan. If they had better specialty drink specials for happy hour, I think they'd attract a lot more people. The Thai nachos are to die for. I love them so much. Went here last night for burgers and beer. The inside is quaint and clean. We had good service, although not very friendly. I was not impressed with the burgers, I had a boursin burger, that had a small pinch of boursin cheese spread on the uninviting bun, and a small hamburger patty with a few sautéed mushrooms and onions on it. The service is also amazing. I've eaten here for lunch and dinner and the food is consistently great! In Sheboygan, pretty good work. Urbane is a little more lounge-y than the other bars in town, and we were looking for a nice low-key place to end our night. Decent beer list for Sheboygan and cheap too. Most beers under $5, which is a-ok in my book. Bartender saw the look on my face when I received the cheap tab and replied, "That's Sheboygan". Service was friendly and the bartender made an excellent Moscow Mule. They freshly squeeze the juices so nothing is premade. Sheboygan! The air conditioning was not on when we went and it was a terribly hot and humid night, so it made for a sweat-a-thon. Please turn it on! read more

Go for the soups alone! Stay for the excellent mixed drinks. (or vice versa;) We had two soups in a row a month or so back and both were very different. One was a clean, fresh, clam chowder that made each ingredient shine, and the flavor of the broth was just amazing. The next day we had the Moroccan stew - another fabulous soup with hearty ingredients and flavors to die for. More recently we had the cream of mushroom soup - which was also very good, but not on par with the other soups for showcasing the chef's talent. The 'Ode to Soy' salad was fun and rather fabulous both times I've had it. You really can't go wrong with it. We also had the crab cakes - which were literally just fried, fresh crab meat. They need to back way off on the salt on these guys, as that was all I could taste. If they did so, they would have an excellent product on their hands. The burgers are also good if you are looking for something a bit more hearty. They did not disappoint. Two thumbs up :) Oh and the drinks are mixed with real fruit juice fresh squeezed when you order. Wonderful! Rock on Urbane:) Though I don't like all the flies!
