You need to stop here. We stopped for lunch and oh my goodness, I wish this could be my regular burger place! When you walk in, you order at the counter and then go around the corner to their dining area. We ordered the truffle boom and the Notorious P.I.G.- and we are STILL raving about them. Your drink and sides aren't included with the price, but we were able to split an order of shareable sidewinder fries between the two of us. Drinks are bottle options, but they also offer a large dispenser for a free water option. It is a very trendy style stop, really catering to someone on their lunch break, a family stop, or your group of friends meeting for a catch up session!

Cow Art!

Unique restaurant in a great downtown location. Inside is clean and spacious with lots of interesting art on the walls. Fun atmosphere. Though the menu is a little limited (mainly burgers, panini's, salads and soups) I'm sure you will find something you will like. They also have ice cream! I've had the toasted cheese twice and tried their soups. Toasted cheese is basically a cheese panini (you can get meat on it) it was crisp and tasty and I would recommend any soup!

Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Work took me to Sheboygan (fun to say) and i just wanted to find a decent burger and, fingers crossed, hot crisp fries. To me, good French fries make an average burger better. Highly rated, a stop at the Local Press showed why. Casual atmosphere, happy employees, food cooked to order and served at the table, the Local Press Eatery was good news fit to print! The "sidewinder" fries were good enough to make the Juicie Brucie burger wait its turn but definitely still front page headlines!

Fried Cheese - huge and delicious!

The food! The atmosphere! The staff! It's is all amazing. We had a huge grilled cheese and and bacon sandwich, the Mac Daddy burger, large fried cheese, fried chicken sandwich, sidewinder fries, mac and cheese, and the Blue Jack burger. We stuffed ourselves because they food was so good we couldn't stop! Highly recommend and will come back, probably tomorrow

Great place for a true Smash Burger experience! I did my own creation: City Bakery roll, single Patty, bacon, blue cheese, egg, avocado & topped off with onion rings. Couldn't finish it all at once, great as a snack later. Will be back again soon!

Very yummy food. Unique burger and chicken sandwiches all cooked from scratch. Smash burgers delicious and hand breaded chicken. Definitely a great stop for lunch while making your way through downtown sheboygan

Truffle Boom Burger and Truffle Fries, to go.

Went here for a Saturday lunch with my relatively picky daughter, who had been pushing me to try this restaurant ever since it opened. The restaurant owner has done a very nice job redoing the space originally occupied by Harvest Cafe. The kitchen is fully visible to you when you order, and looks clean and professionally run. Both the counter area where you order and the seating area looked sleek and spotless. The people behind the counter were both friendly and efficient, and I learned from them that the owner had previously worked at the American Club. We were able to place our order immediately, and observe the food being made. The wait was about 15 minutes, which was eminently reasonable for burgers made to order. My kid was blown away by what she ordered, the Truffle Boom burger and truffle fries. While she is not easy to impress, her commentary ranged from "Phenomenal! Five Stars!" to "OMG! This is amazing!" I was able to steal a couple bites of each from her, and I must agree. Really an outstanding burger, juicy and perfectly cooked, and delicious fries. We especially loved the roasted mushrooms topping. I had the tomato bisque and bread. The bread was lovely , lightly toasted with butter and seasonings. The soup I found a trifle herbal for my tastes. However, I finished every drop. I truly wish we were allowed to give half as well as full stars, as I would give them 4 1/2. I may revisit this ranking later, as I would like to check out the sandwich portion of the menu, as well as their shakes. I don't like to give out a perfect score based on one visit. But given the quality of what we had, I will definitely be back, and I will be recommending Local Press to everyone.

Fries were crisp, coleslaw tasty and the marbled rye bread came buttered! Solid selection of local (Wisconsin) beers, including one of my favorite breweries, 3 Sheeps. Started my meal off with a Blackberry Old Fashioned that was well executed. The gal who took care of us, Crystal, was a delight. Prices are quite reasonable. Two pool tables to boot.

FISH Sadly, they were already out if bluegill, which was my planned order- i panic ordered perch. I should have gotten cod. Fish have bones & you're bound to find a few - but I'm pretty sure one of the filets had more bones than meat. The breading was spotty with large areas not breaded & half the fish was, well, fishy. I (along with 3/4 of the table) appreciated the option to get German Potato Salad or Potato Pancakes instead of the standard fries. The buttered marble rye was also a hit with most. I stopped eating the perch on piece 2 of 4. I went to the potato pancakes, which were pretty good, as was the German Potato Salad. The coleslaw was ok. While I'm not mad at $80 after tip. f you're in Sheboygan and not eating at Black Pig, respectfully, what are we doing?…read moreThis meal had me wondering why I don't make the trip to Sheboygan more often! Black Pig was such a great find, and everything we tried was packed with flavor. We started with the White Truffle & Black Pepper Bacon Fries, because regular fries simply weren't invited. The truffle and black pepper added so much flavor, and these were the perfect way to kick things off. Next up was the Shellfish Rangoon, filled with crab, scallop, and shrimp and topped with tahini-cabbage slaw and pineapple sweet & sour. The combination of flavors was unexpected but worked so well. Then came the Black Pig Cheeseburger, an 8 oz Niman Ranch USDA All-Natural Prime Beef burger with Hooks 1-year aged cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a house-made brioche bun. The burger was flavorful, juicy, and satisfying. I finished with the Endless Rhubarb Summer mocktail, made with rhubarb shrub, lime, simple syrup, ginger ale, and dehydrated lime. It was refreshing and the perfect way to round out the meal. The service was amazing from start to finish. The staff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which made the entire experience even better. I also loved how spacious and clean the restaurant was. It has a comfortable atmosphere that makes you want to sit down, enjoy your meal, and stay awhile. Overall, Black Pig is absolutely worth the drive from Madison. As you might expect, the menu is decidedly pig-forward, although there are plenty of other excellent options. The Wine Spectator- recognized wine list is absolutely incredible, featuring many bottles you would be hard-pressed to find even at high-end restaurants in much larger cities. We started with the Belly Belly Nice appetizer, featuring thick-cut Duroc bacon served with three dipping sauces. All were delicious, but the whole-grain mustard was an absolute must. The duck confit leg and thigh was ridiculously good, easily one of the five best duck dishes I've ever had. Others at our table enjoyed the Big Pig Burger, which was juicy and packed with unique flavors. Another standout was the grilled Ibérico pork pluma, which was prepared beautifully. I would make a special trip back to Sheboygan just to eat here again. It was truly that good!

They have some creative options and nice drinks on the menu. So there are some positives... However, every time I dine here it takes a very long time to receive your food and check out. I understand a bit of a wait when it is busy, and that on weekends you can expect a longer wait for your food. I'm just shocked for how many servers are running around that things take so long or at the very least they aren't on top of refilling drinks and checking in while the food is made. Their kitchen is very small so I'm sure that contributes greatly to the wait time, but again, the service doesn't make up for it. Then top it off with my main dish being cold and a bit soggy, the price range is just a slap in the face at the end.

Amazingly, I still had room for the turkey Reuben with waffle fries. It was an interesting twist and a slightly healthier alternative to a traditional Reuben. They also offered a great selection of local beers on tap. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful as we worked our way through the extensive menu. We loved everything about this place and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sheboygan!
