I didn't realize that they had a case of assorted cakes that I could have got for my coworkers birthday after I had already bought the donuts. This is in no way the fault of the shop because it's literally across from the donut case. I just didn't notice because it's a lot to take in! Anyway, will definitely return. The only critique I have is that you cannot add a tip if you're paying with a card. I never carry cash so I felt really bad that I couldn't tip the lady that helped me. When I walked in, I was greeted by the familiar smell of fresh baked cakes and cookies. One of my childhood friend's family owned a bakery. There was only one little cake was left when we arrived. I wasn't thinking ahead, so that was my fault, but also a good sign! It wasn't fancy, but just the perfect amount. I also bought some of the beautifully decorated flower sugar cookies. While I was waiting to pay, an older gentleman commented to me that he worked there 62 years ago as a junior in high school, and the recipes have not changed since then. I was sold! When it came time to celebrate my friend's birthday, my whole group agreed that their chocolate cake and cookies brought them back to their childhoods. I ended up getting the Old Fashion and the Fuego Margarita both of which were soooo gooooood! The old Fashion was made with Russels reserve 10 year Bourbon (a recognized excellent Bourbon by the experts), Cooper and Kings Brandy, Whistle PiggyBack Rye whiskey, Blackberry and Angostura bitters. This combination of components are not what you would normally see in a classical Old Fashion but man do they form an amazing and tasty Old fashion albeit a tad on the sweet side. Absolutely delicious. The Fuego Margarita is made with a blanco tequila, 21 seed cucumber, Jalapeño, lime juice, Solerno orange liquor and Agave. I have had this drink on a cruise in the past which was quite good where the secret is to balance the Jalapeño/cucumber with the liquor so it does not overpower the drink and man did they nail it. This was absolutely a must try margarita if you are a fan of the drink due to its unique components and how well they complement each other. Top shelf all day long!!
