When I walked in, I was greeted by the familiar smell of fresh baked cakes and cookies. One of my childhood friend's family owned a bakery. There was only one little cake was left when we arrived. I wasn't thinking ahead, so that was my fault, but also a good sign! It wasn't fancy, but just the perfect amount. I also bought some of the beautifully decorated flower sugar cookies. While I was waiting to pay, an older gentleman commented to me that he worked there 62 years ago as a junior in high school, and the recipes have not changed since then. I was sold! When it came time to celebrate my friend's birthday, my whole group agreed that their chocolate cake and cookies brought them back to their childhoods. There was something about moist, light and fluffy chocolate cake with just enough frosting... Thank you for our happy flashback to simpler times! I will definitely be back for more goodies!

You should also be aware that the feelings are mostly cake frosting, so if that feels too sugary for you, be warned. The donuts definitely satisfy someone with a sweet tooth, and they offer mini donuts at a reasonable price point, so you can try many different flavors in one sitting. When you cut the mini donut in half, it's just about right for a bite a piece when sharing with a friend.

Often I find my sandwich is just dry and not as flavorful as I'd expect for a spot that seems to be innovative and thoughtful about their rotating sandwiches.
