These are the Sheboygan mud pies. Just a small part of all the bakery choices.

What a cute little bakery. You get free bakery smells! Yum. There are several areas: dining, frozen goods, coffee and hot drinks, and the bakery area. Bakery items are reasonably priced and so delicious. I got my first Sheboygan mud pie. I picked the cinnamon roll with chocolate icing. It was very tasty. We are inside snd they offer free wifi too. Service was quick and kind.

This is a super cute bakery located near downtown Sheboygan. I wish I could have stayed for a cup of coffee, as the restaurant area was welcoming with a huge picture window that just called to be sat by. I needed two dozen assorted doughnuts for work. The lady behind the counter was very polite and did a great job picking out a variety. The doughnuts were top notch!!! I will visit again.

We arrived at Johnston's Bakery after 9 AM on a Thursday. It has great parking across the street. I loved the nostalgic feel with a group of retired locals laughing at a table nearby. We were instantly helped by the friendly workers. A young lady recommended the cherry and cream cheese danish. It was a perfect ratio of pasty and filling. My sister enjoyed the cherry turnover, but she wasn't a fan of the crueler. The bakery has over 9 inside tables ranging from 2 to 5 seats. There is also a private room that accommodates a larger group. There is even more seating outside in the back. It seems like a nice place to relax and socialize or co-work from.

Came by here after checking out Bookworms Garden. Got the raspberry elephant ear and cinnamon roll donut. Boy, the elephant ear was at least 5 lbs and delicious! I ate 1/3 and couldn't eat anymore. Loads of raspberries preserves and cream cheese for less than $3. The donut was fluffy and soft. They got the weekend special $1.2 for a dozen giant cake donut holes. Their interior, ceiling fans are so cool. Definitely must return when in area.

Great cinnamon roll from start to finish! Soft warm inside with perfect amount of cinnamon to glazed frosting! Would go back to Sheboygan just for this cinnamon roll!

Amazing selection of pastries and friendly service! Will certainly be back and can't wait to try out an espresso drink

Super fun to "get bakery" at Johnston's. We over ordered every visit! Of course they have donuts. Normal delicious donuts, not doughnuts drowned in toppings, trying too hard to be special. Better yet, there are so many other delicious treats, many I've never seen before. The smile sugar cookies are the real deal. I don't even like sugar cookies. These have actual flavor (hints of spice maybe)! There's a morning bun with cinnamon and a little apple - delish. Famous Sheboygan hard rolls seemed to be flying off the shelves as locals picked up big quantities. The staff was also friendly, attentive and patient. One staff member saw our indecisiveness and did mention to us that we could safely come back after lunch! Apparently, they do another fry midday to ensure items are available in the afternoon. This was on a Saturday.

    Small sugar cookies.

When entering, the shop is straight past the stairs and then the second right turn. Their menu has a variety of coffee and tea drinks, smoothies, protein shakes, hot chocolate, baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, ice cream, and more! The inside is beautifully designed and leans into the greenhouse aesthetic; it's whimsical and a true escape. I ended up ordering the Sweet Cardamom Latte along with the Blueberry Rosewater Scone. The scone may have been the best I've had! It was fresh and you could taste the rosewater and blueberries balance each other out. The Sweet Cardamom Latte had subtle flavor but they make their syrups in house as well as source local honey to flavor drinks. My husband got the Chai Tea Latte which had a subtle, sweet flavor. He also tried the ham, smoked gouda, and egg sandwich. They offered a chipotle mayo sauce to go with this which I highly recommend. This was a bit of a splurge but was so worth it!

Like the rest of the American Club, it's a gem. We stopped in a couple of times and had the chance to try a variety of items. Food: They have an excellent assortment of beverages and pastries. Over our two visits, we tried a coffee latte, gourmet hot chocolate, London Fog Tea Latte, and a coffee. The baristas do a very nice job with the hot beverages. You can watch them being made, and it's clear they pay attention to the small details. A great example was the whipped cream on the hot chocolate, piled high in the center of the cup without touching or spilling over the sides. The food was a bit of a mixed bag. On our first visit, we ordered a Blueberry Rosewater scone that looked amazing in the case. It was nicely baked, topped with turbinado sugar, and had plenty of blueberries. The texture, however, was more muffin-like than scone-like. There was also a noticeable baking soda taste, which we both picked up on. I later mentioned this to the manager, who was apologetic. On our second visit, we shared an Espresso Hazelnut Cruffin. This is essentially a croissant baked in a muffin tin and filled with flavored cream. That one was outstanding. The dough was flaky yet moist, and the filling was generous and fresh. We cut it open, spread the filling across the pieces, and ate it almost like buttered bread. Truly delicious. Service: All of the staff were friendly and pleasant. Even when they were busy, it never felt rushed. They didn't initially ask if we wanted our beverages in mugs, but they were happy to accommodate when we asked. They also offered to heat up the scone, which was appreciated. Atmosphere: It's a small space with about a dozen small tables, best suited for groups of two, though there are a couple of tables that can seat four. The stained glass windows are lovely, letting in plenty of natural light and providing a beautiful view of the courtyard. It can get a little loud inside, but we were still able to have a relaxed conversation. A charming spot that fits perfectly into the American Club experience.

This place was recommended, so we decided to give it a try on a cold Saturday morning. Food: We ordered a couple of lattes and some breakfast. For drinks, it was one Vanilla Latte and one London Fog Tea Latte. We asked for mugs, but they were served in glasses instead. Not quite the same, but acceptable. Both drinks were made well, with good texture, nice flavor, and the right temperature. For food, we ordered one Veggie Quiche and a piece of Spanakopita. After they were reheated properly (see Service below), both were very good. I had the Spanakopita, and it was loaded with spinach and feta. The dough-to-filling ratio was excellent. The flavors were rich and complex. The portion size was large, larger than my appetite, but I somehow managed to keep working on it until I was completely stuffed. Service: The service around the food was disappointing. Even though we were clearly dining in, our order was marked as takeout. This created a number of issues. When the food arrived in takeout containers, I mentioned that we were eating inside (especially obvious since our drinks were in glasses). The server simply shrugged and said, "Oh well, they are marked as takeout." I went to the counter and asked for plates and that the food be brought to the proper temperature. It took a while, but they eventually returned with the food reheated, served on plates, and replaced the plastic utensils with metal ones. There was very little acknowledgment that a mistake had been made, and no real apology for the delays. Atmosphere: The place is rustic and right on the water. It reminded me of a fish shanty, in a charming way. There are a couple of different rooms for seating, and we chose one in the back that was quieter. I liked the authentic feel of it. However, there were some areas with old furniture piled up for storage, which took away a bit from the overall look. They also have an outdoor patio that overlooks the river, which would be a lovely spot to sit on a warm day. We would go back. If we ordered food again, I would just make sure they clearly understood from the start that we were dining in so the details were handled correctly.

Not sure if that is the norm or if it was because it was a holiday weekend and many other businesses were closed. We all enjoyed our meals. I especially liked the chicken curry wrap. You could tell all the food is made fresh. They have tables inside and outside. There are tables outside by the canal and some around the side of the building. We picked a table outside on the side, but a bee kept on trying to land on my sister's smoothie so we ended up eating and running.
