I came back to SE Wi for Thanksgiving. A stop at City Bakery for hard rolls was a requirement. They did not disappoint.

Great breads, hard rolls and donuts but terrible customer service. Everyone is always so miserable and crabby there!

Great to have around. You can get them hot right out of the oven or anytime frozen. Great to use for sandwiches

Friendly staff and had the most amazing icing topped cinnamon roll type donut. Can't remember the name.

We came around 8 AM to get a loaf of raisin bread and a seeded whole grain bead, which is my favorite thing when I buy it at a farmers market.

Thanks as always to Yelp for finding OGBH - because this place is AWESOME! We wanted to sit at the bar, but the bar was busy, so we grabbed a table in the other room and the bartender came to us about 4 minutes later and said there were 2 spots at the bar! So, we moved to the bar and thoroughly enjoyed the next 3 hours - we might still be there, if it wasn't for the Brewers game we had tickets to! We enjoyed several different beers on tap, talked with the bartenders - specifically Mitch and Sarah and of course the other people at the bar. We enjoyed the OGBH Brat - for sure the best brat I have ever had. The bun is perfectly warm and toasty, the brat is delicious and full of flavor and of course, it's snappy! We even tried the bavarian pretzel with the yummy cheese! I love this place - I don't have to search for anywhere else to go now that I have found this gem!

I'm not a beer drinker myself, so I always go for a liter of the root beer. I'm not even a huge root beer fan, but it feels fitting when I visit here. I love their chicken schnitzel tenders. The ranch here is so well-flavored and compliments the thin breading on the tenders.

I sat there and enjoyed the local banter as they yelled at the TV while the Brewers were playing, it was great. Again, genuine people, a genuine welcome.

The bartender who was working the bar side came to take my drink order when she noticed the dining room bartender was busy. I haven't had an OF in years but she made a great one. Our server, Nikki(?) was very attentive without hovering. Very pleasant even when it started to get busy. My friend & I both ordered hand breaded perch for dinner & Nikki told us to help ourselves to the salad bar. Oh my! How many days had they put out the lettuce mix & other salads?? The lettuce was very limp & wilty. The macaroni & pea salad just tasted "off" and the fluff salad had no taste at all. After that, I was grateful I didn't try any other salads items. Thankfully our fish came out and it was delicious! The breading was crunchy & served very hot. Fries & broasted potatoes were good also. My suggestion is to offer a traditional perch dinner with potato, rye bread, and cole slaw like most other area restaurants. If this had been offered I'd have been very happy with Al & Al's, but that salad bar was such an unappetizing turn off that we won't return for a good while.

Immediately we saw a large set up of music west of the building. The music was decentish and classic rock. The doors next to the bar were open. We needed to go all the back, the furthest table away due to the volume. The flights are $20 for five 4oz pours. That's maybe a $1 more than I'd expect with economy of scale. Most flights are also only 4 pours so it isn't much more per ounce. If you don't get the barrel aged maybe not a good deal? Anyways we got 10 beers. They label each glass with the beer's number on the menu. Super helpful except I wasn't seated near the menu so I took photos. Bourbon barrel scotch ale I gave a 4/5. Vulgar Display Hazy Pale - Ironically this double dry hopped pal ale tasted most like a traditional non fruity ipa of all theirs. I would like to taste this without dry hopping. 3.5 Freaky 220 dangerous for a 9.75%. Drinks like a 6%. Not that hoppy. 3.25 The rest I rated a 3 or lower but I'm not into sour types. When the night meets the day should not have been a nitro.
