I have bought many dinners from them. Then my 87 year old father and I ordered. There was no sauce for the potstickers. So I called them and they race baited in a white city. They told me they didnt know what sauce there was for potstickers, dumplings whatever you want to call them. Ive made them and ive made the sauce. Vinager and soy. Everyone in the world knows that. But they have some idiots that work there. I ordered my fifth time from them and then they laughed at me saying they didnt know there was sauce for potstickers. Food is delicious, service is questionable. Make sure you get a receipt and keep it. While dropping off my food the driver tried collecting money even though I paid with a card when I called. I informed them the payment already Came out of my account and offered to show my banking transaction, they declined. Later that night they started calling my phone because they lost the receipt and wanted me to pay again. After explaining I already paid the conversation ended. To the next day, another worker starting calling me and threatening to call the cops on me because I didn't pay. After I texted in a picture of my bank transaction proving I paid, the owner replied that they had the receipt all along. Never got an apology just attitude. read more

MONEY STOLEN AFTER ORDERING HERE! Do Not order here! We ordered here, and mysteriously our debit card number was stolen and thousands of dollars of unauthorized purchases occurred. And I mean THOUSANDS. This was the only place we spent any money with that card outside our usual places, and between working with the bank, and so forth, it is the only place this could have happened. Aside from that the food was not that good, took forever to arrive. Arrived cold, and we orders both general tso chicken and orange chicken, but both orders tasted exactly the same, and neither was labeled. I can bypass the other stuff and just not order here again, but I don't want others to be out in the same boat we are in. read more

I had wanted to try Chinatown Kitchen for a while now. Placed our order from Greenbush, so a 20 miles drive to pick the food up. Order placed via the on-line site (site is done well). Waited a bit, as it said order would be ready 20-30 minutes. Got there about 40 minutes after order was placed, but nothing was ready. Waited another 25 minutes for food...no one else was there or waiting. Lady was screaming at staff most of the time we waited. Took the food home, and was very disappointed. Got 5 diffent dishes, and they all basically tasted the same. Probably the worst Chinese food we've had. We also noticed when we got home we were charged a $1.25 on-line order fee, and another $1.35 handling fee. What's that about? We won't be back. read more

My girlfriend ordered chow mein. She was given no fried noodles or white rice which is supposed to come with the order. Upon notifying them of the dilemma we were told they couldnt deliver for something so small. Update: Gave them another chance. Once again ordered house special chow mein. Once again did not receive the fried noodles. Explanation given was the front counter was not made aware that they wont get more fried noodles in until Monday. Today is Friday. Last time I'll order from this place. Half an hour after my food was supposed to be here I finally get through on the phone to check. Cant get an answer where my food is from whoever answered the phone, sounds like mass chaos "hold on hold on hold on" then asks my address which he should have since it's delivery. I do a lot of traveling and eat at dozens of Chinese restaurants. I decided to stop in and get my favorite shrimp fried rice. It was hot enough that I had to wait till I got to my next stop before I could eat, which was just over an hour away. When I open the container, I was overwhelmed with the smell of onion. There was so much onion in there that it was making me sick and I tried eating just one shrimp and all I could taste was onion. This was the first time I have ever encountered onion in shrimp fried rice. Every other place I've been to uses scallions. unfortunately, I was too far away to return to get a new order because I could not eat any of this order. read more

If you order online, I'm not sure they start to cook it until you come and pay? You can't pay with credit card online, sadly that might start the order. Gave them 20 min. to get here for pick up, been here another 20 (so far) for pick up. If you do place an order online, I would follow with a call and pay over the phone, ask wait time, and go from there. Was a two, got the food. Worth the wait. Large portions order way to much! Either short staffed or completely unorganized...or both. A 40 minute wait turned into an 80 minute wait for carryout. When a cluster of people were waiting outside for their food, the employee just came out and randomly started collecting everyone's phone numbers (which had to be given when the order was placed.) I always appreciate the very large portions, the tasty way that the foods are prepared and the friendly atmosphere. People who work here tend to remember repeat customers and they are gracious and grateful for business. There is sometimes a bit of a wait after ordering food, but they do have spaces to sit to wait and it is always interesting to see the employees cooking the food out in the open, which adds to the organic quality of the atmosphere. They do not allow ordering and paying online, but their in-store payment process is expedient and easy. I always go to this restaurant for my Chinese take out and love it :) read more

The food is marginal, their delivery service stinks. We live 2.8 miles from the restaurant and it's an average of 2 hours to get our food delivered. Not worth the delivery fee. Won't be ordering any time again soon. read more

Worst Chinese takeout I've ever had! Food here used to be good but last 2 times everything in our order tasted like burnt old grease. Took 1 bite called to let them know and they could care less. Sucks to have to throw away food for 4 people but what they serve now is inedible. read more

FYI the business is under new management. We've been eating there for years. Stopped in today and the new owner and one of her employees were yelling at each other. Placed our order and paid immediately. Waited 45 minutes for our order to come up. We grabbed our food and headed to our car. The delivery boy comes out and accuses us of not paying. When we got home we opened our food and were disappointed. The quantity and quality were lacking. I had ordered some spring rolls and they had a disgusting rotten taste. China Star is about the same distance from our home. We will eat there next time. read more

Very inconsistent food here. Sometimes great and sometimes not so good. Online ordering! This time, the Lo Mein had some kind of smoky flavor, as if some barbecue sauce got mixed in with it; and the fried rice was overcooked (overly soft and mushy and sticking together). The Boiled Dumplings tasted good but the dish smelled like some kind of cleaner; very off-putting. The little sauce cup with the dumplings, as always, was unable to be closed fully because the lid just rests on top and does not actually seal whatsoever; it looks as if the cheap plastic just melted away. I've had that problem with this Chinese food restaurant before as well with their foil food containers. This is the only Chinese food place that I've had that problem with -- the rest use the same containers and they close just fine. On the other hand, I've ordered General Tso's Chicken from them every time I ordered and it was always pretty good, average for this type of restaurant. The Potato Cheese and Chinese Donuts are very tasty. They have online ordering and delivery which is why this is the place I order from every time I want Chinese. Their delivery time is pretty average, unlike another well-known Chinese food place here whose name starts with a "K" and ends in a "ing Wok" that consistently takes an hour and a half to deliver something less than ten blocks away. read more

Both times I have ordered delivery, my food has arrived smelling like cigarette smoke. That's a huge turnoff and quite disgusting. This last time I ordered, they didn't give me my soup. I called right away and let them know. They said they would be right back with it (I only live 2 blocks away) 40 minutes later, I called because I still didn't have my soup. She said it was on the way, and I ended up having to wait another 10 minutes. That's just ridiculous. Definitely not going to be ordering from here again. They did nothing to fix their wrongs. If you like literally half cooked food it's the place to go! Crab Rangoon is only fried on the wings, the part with the filling was raw dough and fell apart as I picked it up. It used to be our favorite place to order Chinese. It's gone downhill. China star is way better read more

We catered through them for a family event and they were dishonest with their prices and were extremely difficult to work with. They were very rude and terrible with communication. I'm staying downtown and wanted Chinese food. I have to say, I was a little Leary about this place. We ordered over the phone and picked up dinner to eat at the hotel. The restaurant was clean, with the kitchen in plain view. The food appears to be made fresh to order. We had pot stickers, egg rolls, soup, orange chicken, and sesame chicken. The food was good.
