After a bit of an unexpected dinner adventure, I ended up at Log Cabin Restaurant in Howards Grove and I'm so glad I did! I first tried to pick up dinner at the Piggly Wiggly in town, but unfortunately they were closed. I then drove all the way to Millhome Supper Club, but they were packed and not taking to-go orders. Turning back toward Howards Grove, I decided to stop at Log Cabin -- and it turned out to be the best choice of the night! They had prime rib on Saturday, and I placed a to-go order. Just got home and it's absolutely amazing -- perfectly cooked and flavorful. While waiting at the bar, the customer service was outstanding and the atmosphere was so welcoming. Everyone was so friendly, it really made the experience even better. I would absolutely recommend Log Cabin to anyone in the area. The food, the service, and the vibe all came together perfectly. Our party of 4 had ordered takeout. Two of the orders were incorrect. The chicken sandwich was missing the french fries that were part of the order. The ham sandwich was actually an open face sandwich smothered in some type of brown gravy, which was not appreciated. Who puts gravy on a ham sandwich? This place is GREAT for groups. They take reservations, we came in with a group of 12 and we're accommodated. The staff at the bar was helpful and efficient when we all got drinks before being seated. Menu is extensive so everyone can find something they like. Food was honestly okay, nothing special BUT out of our 12 person group every single person got their food hot to the point where it took a second to eat it. Stopped for breakfast. Ordered an omelet. At the time of the order there was 5 tables with people. 3 of which had their food. We placed our order and it took almost an hour to get our less than impressive looking food. And the waitress apologized and said she actually had to make it herself. I don't have know what happened to this place? I was absolutely delicious. Now the menu has changed. No meatloaf, no specialty drinks, no Friday fish with perch. So disappointed. Who serves sweet corn with a fish fry? They served the best sliced bread from a local bakery. That's gone! This explains why there was no wait to get in on Friday. Normally it was packed. It's a very unwelcome change. This isn't homemade comfort food, like it was. It's frozen baked pies, corn from a can, no bakery bread, gravy from a can, the cod was not bad, but I want perch. We are in Wisconsin, I can get cod anywhere. Whoever owns this does not get it! My waitress was good that was the positive of the night. A young man asked us twice how the food was. Well, disappointed in the quality of the food since new owners have taken over. Nothing tender about the hand battered chicken tenders, over cooked , dry and tough as leather. Personally I didn't need the remodel and higher prices that came with it but still came for the food, atmosphere and good service. Sad to say, I've seen food quality and service deteriorate over the past 2 years, including one night that was totally aawful, start to finish, terrible Food and service. Put me off for months. Went back again recently. I don't know why it feels so different now--just a loss of conviviality and that feeling I once had that I knew it would always be good. I don't know that anymore. This place has some great homemade great food. I have had meat loaf, pot roast, burgers and often have breakfast here. It's so good and you can tell it's made from scratch. The bread is amazing! It comes from a bakery in Kiel and is so light and tasty. I drove out there just to get a few loaves. The breakfast buffet on Sunday is really tasty. This week there was warm coffee cake which was amazing. I added a butter pat and it melted into the cake which made it even better. I hope they keep up the good work! They also serve alcohol and I saw the bloody Mary's which also looked amazing. read more

My gf and I go here every Sunday we can to get the breakfast buffet since there is barely any in sheboygan. Great scrambled eggs and cheesy potatoes, the bacon is just awesome and it's super cheap too at 8.99 all you can eat. Great servers also they see empty plates always cleared fast and drinks refilled. My husband had the Monday special - Broasted Chicken and I had the beer fried Walleye fish. Both were excellent. The portion size are large. I took some of my Walleye back to our RV to enjoy later.
