I didn't expect that my travel partners would be in the mood for sushi while staying in Sheboygan -…read morebut what can I say? ...the palate wants what it wants. The meal started on shaky ground with the tuna tataki. Dry and somewhat fishy, I had no desire to have more than one piece. The ponzu sauce also did not have the flavorful, citrusy tartness that could have saved this dish. Thankfully, things did get better. The Spanish grasshopper roll was flavorful, much more fresh tasting, and had a nice level of heat. The dragon roll and the crazy roll were also decent but not amazing. Thankfully, the tataki set the bar pretty low for everything else. Service was also decent in that our server was friendly but somewhat forgetful and main courses didn't quite arrive together leaving some to stare at their food while others waited for theirs. This was not a major issue, though, and only helps to explain why this was just an average experience. One final note was how unusually dark the restaurant was with very dark paint-chipped walls. Additionally, the walk to the restrooms took me past a small graveyard of broken and unused chairs. The spiral bound menus were all in various levels of disrepair. The only reason I mention these things is because there's a certain level of attention to small details that can make or break my level of comfort in eating sushi at any particular restaurant. Pricing was shockingly inexpensive for the amount of food. Unsurprisingly, a service charge was added since our group was large - but I was shocked that it was only 15% - which I have never seen. We all made sure to add to the gratuity reflective of our appreciation for the hard work of our server. Overall, not fantastic - but definitely not the worst sushi place I have been. Not sure I have a strong desire to give this one another try, though.

The sushi is fine, but they have hardly any vegetarian options. The restaurant is dimly lit also. The service is friendly and quick. If you want good Asian food in Sheboygan, go to Nori or Tochi instead. (Although each of those has their own pros and cons - Nori doesn't have a very nice dining room but great food, Tochi is a great date spot but the dining room is small)

Chef Greg was so kind and completely catered to my dietary restrictions. I could tell that he genuinely wanted to make my experience great, and he completely delivered on that. The flavors are bold, rich, and inviting. The broth feels like a warm hug, and it is hard to not smile when you taste it. The environment of the restaurant is unique and exciting as well. It's small enough to be an intimate experience while still having your own space to enjoy the meal. We will certainly be visiting again, even if it means making the hour drive just to have some ramen!

We got there not long after 4pm on a Monday and I'd say it was 3/4 full. It's a very small place so I imagine it fills up regularly. Very cool vibe in there. We sat at the bar. The people there were overall very nice and friendly. I opted for the braised beef mazeman ramen. It was superb! I'd say better than most ramen I've had in WI. The smoked bone marrow butter made it particularly rich and delicious. So yeah, finally made it to Tochi and sure glad I did!

Let me reassure you, the food here is authentic Indian cuisine, prepared well, and it is tasty. It is also a bit pricey, in my opinion. I realize I'm starting to sound like my parents..."back in my day..." On my last trip to Curry Corner, I bought a single order of chicken curry and one order of garlic naan (bread) for my partner. It was $24, and yeah, you are implicitly expected to tip for carry out, which again, I find a bit annoying.

I am from Chicago and we have good Indian food but nothing like The Spices Restaurant and Bar in Sheboygan. We had the best Chicken 65 ever! The delicious and perfectly seasoned Palak Chicken and Green Chicken Korma were outstanding, top-shelf, made-from-scratch and the food was served piping hot and to our preferred spice level, completely tailored to our taste. The vegetable Bryan was intensely aromatic, and their cheese garlic naan was simply amazing. I also loved that Surya and the bartender were great. You must try this gem. It's simply the best. FIVE STARS!! Prices are exceptionally reasonable for the high quality and generous portions. Wish we had a Spices Restaurant in Chicago. We will come back because it's worth the two hour drive!!

We've lived in Chicago before moving here and loved Chicago food, especially the Little India neighborhood there; that being said, this place is phenomenal and bar far the best Indian restaurant we've had in the greater Milwaukee area. Never have we had a bad meal. Have tried most things on the menu- while it seems more North Indian (less spice used than in South India), it makes up for it with the Nepal menu options. The fried chili momos and steamed chicken momos (Nepali flavor and sauce yum), and the Tandoori Chicken are always well-made and seasoned. The Chai is phenomenal. This location, compared to downtown, is less 'dress-upped', but in our experience, the less dressed-up an Asian restaurant is, the better the food is going to be. Cute decor includes elephants, flowers, and types of bamboo steamers and such, making it very cute and homey. The service is always great, both the Nepali gentleman and the other Indian gentlemen servers are friendly and helpful. The only few 'negatives' we have had- service can take a bit, but it's completely worth it for the quality that comes out of the kitchen. Some small things- like the tandoori chicken not having sliced ginger or the chai being a little on the tamer side of spice- are to be expected with inflation and whatnot for the food industry. In the end, food is amazing, service is top-notch, and what we feel is the best reason to go there is the sense of home and comfort we get from the food and staff. Worth the drive, worth the try. Thanks to the owners and everyone at The Spices for making an international couple feel at home!
