Had breakfast there a couple weeks ago on our way home from a trip. Well worth it. Both my wife and I had the coffee and oh which is delicious. I had eggs, pancakes, toast, and bacon... We had breakfast at about 11 o'clock and never ate another meal the rest of the day. It was so much food and so delicious. We sat at the counter and met some local residence that love the place also. Only one staff member always wore their mask, and our waitress only wore hers when we asked her if she would. As soon as she was done helping us, the mask came off again. Adding insult to injury, the food just wasn't very good. I had a ham and cheese omelet with a side of pancakes. The omelet was pretty dry, and the pancakes were decent, but nothing to write home about. This happened to be a midway spot for us and some friends that live in the Sheboygan area; good thing this isn't a local joint for me, as I would be mighty disappointed! We stopped here a few years back with family and had a nice lunch. My husband and I stopped here again for breakfast on Tuesday on our way to Door County. Their menu is so extensive. It's hard to choose. I had great potato pancakes--just like my mother used to make! My husband had the French toast special, which he said was so-so. Decided to stop for lunch yesterday on our way home from Door County. They had a fish fry special. I ordered the two piece cod and was excited to order the potato pancakes as my side. This time they were awful. The grated potato was brown like it had been exposed to the air a long time and the pancakes were almost burnt. They matched the cod, which was also overcooked. It was dry and tough. I was so disappointed! My husband said his gyro tasted like it had been made ahead and microwaved. The service, however, was great on both visits. I'm sure if I had complained yesterday, the waitress would have made it right for me, but I was anxious to get back on the road and get home. We won't take another chance, but will stop at Culver's when we pass through Oostburg. We can at least count on their consistency. read more

Owner's son is out of control - went this weekend and it appeared he was selling drugs to young kids in parking lot when we arrived. Disappointing. He almost hit my daughter when leaving. Looked in the car and saw him with a joint; in a beat up White Corvette. He was screaming out of control, yelling "I didn't actually hit her, I braked." And repeatedly yelling at customers in parking lot to "Just Relax". Met with Sheriff this afternoon; and they will start patrolling. Went to Judi's for the blueberry and lemon special this morning. The pancakes had so little liquid on them we had to ask for regular syrup so we could eat them.....we do not eat dry pancakes. I ordered cranberry juice and maybe they used half cranberry and half grape. I often order cranberry juice in various restaurants and this was not normal cranberry juice. We gave it two stars, but that means to me the food was not good. read more

Our family rented a cabin near Oostburg, Wisconsin and had the opportunity to go to Judi's Place for breakfast. Our family absolutely loved the restaurant. The service was so friendly and the food was top quality and priced very reasonably. It is a restaurant that the locals love to come to. I wanted to try EVERYTHING, it all looked so good. It was pretty crowded and our server was so attentive. She was great. I had to get the Oosburger and man, was that good! Even thought it does not look that big, it is filling and I only ate half. It's a hamburger patty with a sliced Sheboygan brat on top and whatever toppings you want. I opted for cheddar cheese and grilled onions. It's served on a hard roll, like you get with ham and rolls on Sunday. I also got the chicken dumpling soup, which was better than average because it had kluski noodle dumplings. I loved the decor here, too. Cute vintage signs and Dutch merchandise. There aren't many restaurants in the town of Oostburg, near the beach cottage we stayed in. But we're glad we found this one! We ordered take out and we were pleasantly surprised by the large portions for such reasonable prices. We couldn't eat everything at once and had leftovers. I rarely give a five star review... The quintessential small town Wisconsin diner. We had the spinach and feta omelette which was fluffy and probably more than you could eat in one sitting. Also the San Pedro skillet with taco meat which was jam packed with cheese and veggies. Again a large portion that came with optional pancakes that were super light with a buttery crust. To top it off they had a special grilled pecan roll that had just the right blend of dough, cinnamon, and sweetened pecans. The total bill was under $23 with drinks. The staff was all amazingly friendly. We even got to see the kitchen staff passing up dishes and they were having fun with the wait staff. It's a 2 min exit of the Interstate and will be a new stop for us on the way to Milwaukee. If your close and hungry, Stop here. read more

Why is it so hard for any restaurant to look at the order ticket before putting the canned cream on pancakes, crepes, etc. I made it very clear to the waitress: NO whipped cream! Said it TWICE to our waitress. Guess what I still got...more food on the landfill. This was at least the third time this happened for me at this restaurant. Once, it was quipped here: "You're in the dairy state". Ya, the dairy state where it is difficult to find(and illegal) to purchase raw milk... or dairy products free of glyphosate. I want old fashioned, pure whipped cream out of a half-pint paper carton, NOT GMO-JUNK squirt out of a can. Guess I have to prepare it myself. Then, their chili...Why does everyone need sweetener? I want my main course and dessert SEPARATE. If someone wants sweet chili, give them some sugar on the side. We're all fat enough through the long Wisconsin winters. read more
