Far from Farm to Table but it is all cooked with flavor. I ordered the white meat baked chicken, with Mac&Cheese and yams. So why at 11am on a Sunday or they out of yams?! So I got the greens instead. The greens were seasoned nicely, the just taste like the come out of a can. The Mac was nice and cheesy, but it tasted as if it was boxed. I wasn't too fond of receiving the back piece of the chicken either because it contained more bones than meat. A back and a baby wing are NOT the best pieces to serve together and call it a meal. Oh, I also got a side of green beans and those were very well seasoned also! I also enjoyed the thinly sliced piece of strawberry cake and the banana pudding...while quite dry! Great home cooking in the Bartlett area. Staff is super friendly and helpful. The food is amazing, like my momma and Grannie cooked. Wonderful soul food choices each day. They don't miss the small things like fresh tartar sauce and cranberry sauce on days with entrees that use them. Desserts look great too. Eat in or easy carry out. We had heard about Gracie's, but never stopped by til today. Great place for take out and can seat around 20. Each day has a set menu set up like a buffet so you can see all the choices. We got the meatloaf and the portion was generous! Comes with 2 vegetables and bread. I had green beans and sweet potatoes. The green beans were seasoned great and I loved the hint of cloves in the sweet potatoes. We will definitely come back or order for pick up. read more

I like some of the food items but most of it is too salty for me. I can never finish any of the meats because of too much salt. The vegetables can be a little too salty at times too. The sign said they were open to six. I walked up to the door at 545 and saw people sitting and eating. The door was locked. No one attempted to come to the door or let me know when would be a better time to come back or provide a menu. Located in a ok strip mall in a fairly business part of town in Bartlett... nothing spectacular but it gets the job done..nice staff so that's a major plus. But the presentation was lackluster, but I'm not eating the serving table...I don't eat meat but the offering looked tempting of baked and BBQ chicken, chopped steak and smothered pork chops. This is the best meat and two I have found in Memphis. The smothered pork chops are amazing. Don't forget the peach cobbler.

The food is great and service was as well. I choose different items each time I visit and no surprises-it is always cooked like I know it should be. The prices are great for the food portions and not expensive at all. The catering side is great as well. First time trying Gracie's and it was great! Baked chicken had an excellent flavor and was falling off the bone. Loved the sides & cornbread. I bought a slice of cake too, which was a huge slice definitely worth the money (sorry I bit into it before taking the pic). I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. read more

I was very disappointed with the dressing today...It had a very strange taste to it.. Something was really missing..I just threw it away.

Everything I have tasted here is good and I am one of the pickiest eaters anyone can know. I have to defend the banana pudding though after seeing the other review about it. Yes, it looks different...yes, it tastes different. Why? Because they make the pudding the old fashioned way by scratch and cook it over the stove. The box banana pudding is what people are used to. It's thick and yellow. My mother made banana pudding from scratch and I couldn't believe my luck to have found somewhere that makes it this way. It's not for everyone...it doesn't get as thick or as yellow and when poured hot over the cookies it does look different. If you can get past that (and I certainly can because it's what I'm used to) it is delicious. read more

I wanted it to be great. I want to support them. But it just wasn't. How do you have soul food and have so little flavor or seasoning? The meatloaf was decent and the portion was huge. The lima beans were bland. The potatoes were bland, thick, and chunky. The mac & cheese had a decent flavor but looked like it had been sitting around a while. The role was just a sister Schubert rolls and the corn bread was dry. It had a nice sweetness to it but not moist. My recommendation would be that the owner would be open to re-examining their food. Don't be afraid to use some salt, pepper, butter and even more butter! This is soul food after all. It isn't supposed to be healthy. It's supposed to be awesome with flavor! read more

This was by far some of the worst food I've ever tasted. I had the wing dinner...green beans...mac and cheese....yams....cornbread...and cake. Wing were cooked fresh but grossly undercooked. Blood could be seen in the first bite of the tough wing. Disgusting. Flies all around the food...servers were not friendly not even the owner. Servers and owner was sweating over food and fanning off flies. Cake dry...yams, mac and cheese, and green beans was not good at all. I saw a lot of food left on plates by customers and wondered why. I walked in gracies not knowing what to expect because it was my first time. I must say I definitely reminds me of my grandmas cooking

I am real ticky about my soul food but Gracie's Kitchen passed the test. I am a country woman so I am always critiquing soul food restaurants. Some soul food restaurant fix food from the can but Gracie's is prepared fresh. I love the lasagna because it is cheesy all the way through. I have also tried other items off the menu such as the fried fish, chicken, pork chop, macaroni, dressing, and etc. I have been very pleased on all on my visits here. I think this restaurant gives you enough food for the amount of money you pay. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Tips: 1)Be prepared to wait because the lines are sometimes long and 2) sign up for the reward program to receive a free meal. read more

So unprofessional. The girl who answered to take my to go order was talking to another customer in the background, while talking to someone else to ask whether they had meatloaf. That person confirmed, and she continued to take my order. Then, someone else got on the phone saying,"hello?" And then proceeded to say that she was going to take my order - she's the cook and the other girl was helping someone else. So, after I repeated my order, she then told me they were out of meatloaf and tried to have a side conversation with someone else while I'm on the phone thinking she's talking to me. Needless to say, I canceled my order. They need some training in etiquette, cause no matter how good the food is, people expect a leave of professionalism and respect from the people that are cooking their food. read more

i got the chicken and dressing and it was the best baked chicken i have ever had. so tender i was able to cut it with a plastic fork just by touching it. it just comes apart. the taste was out of this world. can't wait to go back. my brother got the turkey and dressing. the only reason i did not was it looked like she gave my brother half a turkey on his plate. no way i could have eaten that much. and at the end this really nice lady was walking around checking to make sure everyone was happy with their lunch. man what a great little place. read more
