I finally got around to visiting Cordova Catfish's new location. It's very spacious and serves as not only a restaurant, but a banquet hall as well. I ordered the catfish and my husband ordered the buffalo. The catfish was not too bad. It was fried hard, but just lacked flavor. The Mac and cheese was my favorite. The server that we had was great. I spotted this gem cruising on Germantown Pkwy. After making a pit spot at my bank, I stopped to get a plate of fish. This place is huge. Plenty of room for any event that you would like to host in there facility. I walked in and was greeted right away. Got a Catfish fillet dinner and I was out of there in 10 minutes. Very impressed. This place is horrible!!! I got the SPECIAL porkchop (available Sunday only and the lady told me it was amazing!!!) It was literally less than 1/8th of an inch thick and had been cooked to the consistency of a potato chip. The cornbread was so dry that when you took at bite (muffin) it fell apart The pinto beans were flavorless and the spinach soufle was just some spinach and flavorless This and a beer was $14 and it took me 35 minutes to get it and the place was empty NEVER AGAIN !!! I'm glad I found this place. It is welcoming and the owner is very friendly. The catfish fillets were a bit small, but cooked perfectly! Really tasty catfish.The fries were also good. They had a seasoned coating and were very thick cut spiral fries--interesting. I will visit this place again and try some of the cakes they bring in from New Albany. read more

Management was horrible. I requested on 2 of my orders that my slaw be placed in a separate container so it would not run over the rest of my food during transport. The server asked the cook (manager) to do this and he told her NO. He said he did not know this before preparing the food and he wasn't going to fix it. I asked to speak with him and he wanted to argue with me that his staff didn't let him know in time (which is not my problem, that's a staffing problem). I've been lookimg for a good catfish place and I have finally found it. The food is goood and fresh. We will be visiting again.

Husband and son ate there tonight. They said it was delicious! Fish was good size and was super fresh. My son loved the shape of the fries.

They are open on Sundays! I was happy with my food and the employees were really nice. I would recommend you give them a try!

Update: we tried the spaghetti and it was ahhhmazing... the meat sauce taste like my grandmothers ;-)

I don't often write reviews, but must share this. This restaurant is the best kept secret in the Memphis area. I only recently discovered it, and can say without hesitation that it is some of the best catfish and soul food I have ever eaten. When I was told by the server that all of the food is cooked from scratch, I didn't really believe it at first. I do now! The fried catfish filets are very fresh, with a crisp, flavorful coating. Every vegetable or side I have tried has been delicious, especially the greens and the spaghetti. They have chitterlings on Sundays, and they, too, are delicious. The menu is extensive, so I'll try some of the other dishes, too. For now, I'm stuck on the soul food, since I had not been able to find good soul food anywhere near Cordova and had given up.
