I finally got around to visiting Cordova Catfish's new location. It's very spacious and serves as not only a restaurant, but a banquet hall as well. I ordered the catfish and my husband ordered the buffalo. The catfish was not too bad. It was fried hard, but just lacked flavor. The Mac and cheese was my favorite. The server that we had was great. I will return and will probably try a different dish next time while watching the game. read more

I'm glad I found this place. It is welcoming and the owner is very friendly. The catfish fillets were a bit small, but cooked perfectly! Really tasty catfish. The fries were also good. They had a seasoned coating and were very thick cut spiral fries--interesting. I will visit this place again and try some of the cakes they bring in from New Albany. read more

I spotted this gem cruising on Germantown Pkwy. After making a pit spot at my bank, I stopped to get a plate of fish. This place is huge. Plenty of room for any event that you would like to host in there facility. I walked in and was greeted right away. Got a Catfish fillet dinner and I was out of there in 10 minutes. Very impressed. Good food definitely. Will be back if I'm in the area. Give this place a try. This place is open! This location is not closed!! read more

This place is horrible!!! I got the SPECIAL porkchop (available Sunday only and the lady told me it was amazing!!!) It was literally less than 1/8th of an inch thick and had been cooked to the consistency of a potato chip. The cornbread was so dry that when you took at bite (muffin) it fell apart The pinto beans were flavorless and the spinach soufle was just some spinach and flavorless This and a beer was $14 and it took me 35 minutes to get it and the place was empty NEVER AGAIN !!! This is my third attempt to try and like this place but they need a cook!!! read more

Catfish fillets were a good size but slightly under cooked by my standard. Sort of pricey at $15 for two fillets and $1 extra for two marble sized hush puppies. I may go back and try the whole catfish but will designate "well done" on the cooking. read more

UPDATE: Now that I've finished my meal and realized that most of this tiny piece of fish is breading only, this review has been reduced to a 1 star. Guess I'll make my catfish at home from now on. read more

Cordova Catfish - $8.50 for this and a canned soda (and I only pinched off a little piece). Smh - Fish & Chips Near Me

So for the most part it was pretty good. I do have a few issues though. They had no cocktail sauce, no small packs of butter, the only drinks they had were water and canned coke and sprite, and they were a bit chintzy with the tarter sauce and coleslaw. Everything tasted good and I liked the flavor on the French fries. There was only one guy working and he was actually a little busy so it took a little while to get our food. read more

Nothing on the menu was fresh or homemade. If you like bulk food service food, warmed up, then you will like this place.

Boyfriend and I tried this place for the first time. The fish is cooked to order which was a plus but the fries were not good in our opinion. There is a limited choice of sides, but hopefully this changes. Food portions were small for the price. Glad to have her in the area and I'll support as long as she is around. read more

Well first of all; we wanted to try it because we were wanting some oxtails or chitterlings.. they said that they were out...so we ended up taking to go from the Buffett... and let me just say ..?? It was DISGUSTING!!!! We tried almost everything on the bar and NOTHING taste like Anything...! We spent over $19 a piece and walked away feeling as if we just thrown away money ... we will not be returning because we could've eaten better at Piccadilly's and we don't even like Picadilly BUT it would've been better... I really hate this because we do like to support our black owned businesses.. But unfortunately we can't get with this ... read more

Awful, i should have left. $16.92 for what? Two peices of fish coleslaw that not fresh, and a few fries. Not a good choice. I was expecting a better first time experience. The entire time the older guy was yelling at the younger guy to stop looking at his phone, and work. Time I walked in and placed my order paid which was to go. I was asked hadIi placed my order yet by the same guy that just took my order and my money. The price is too high and the service is not conducive to the expectation one may assume it would be. read more

My husband and I got to go orders from them and were very pleasantly surprised with the food. The portions were pretty decent and the food was very fresh. The takeout takes a little bit longer because they make it fresh to order. We ordered the 3 piece Catfish filets dinner and an order of Okra. All of it was wonderful. The hush puppies were my favorite. I could have eaten a bucket of them. We will be back again soon! read more

I love my catfish and fried green tomatoes. Now I have a restaurant to go get both. WOW! Let me say it was love at 1st bite. This is also a great place that would be great for high school reunions or family reunions. I will definitely be coming back. read more

I desperately want to give this place an awesome rating. The food was spectacularly good. Ethereal. They just need to get their act together. Wrong drink. Wrong seasoning selection. Incorrect check. Still have to say go there and give them a chance. The food is seriously delicious and the staff is very nice. read more

Management was horrible. I requested on 2 of my orders that my slaw be placed in a separate container so it would not run over the rest of my food during transport. The server asked the cook (manager) to do this and he told her NO. He said he did not know this before preparing the food and he wasn't going to fix it. I asked to speak with him and he wanted to argue with me that his staff didn't let him know in time (which is not my problem, that's a staffing problem). After going back and forth with him awhile he finally fixed it. Had I not prepaid and been hungry I would have just left. The fish and coleslaw was pretty good. The corn muffin and hush puppies were horrible (hard and crumbling). The spaghetti taste like pizza sauce . read more

This restaurant had the audacity to charge me an automatic qratuity of 15% for a one plate to-go order. They also charged 25cents for a piece of cornbread on a 11.99 meal - no bread huh. I did not ask for bread, the cashier asked me and then did not indicate that there was an additional charge until I saw the ticket. The meatloaf was nothing to write home about and they poured ketchup on top for the red sauce. WOW! I also had a valid coupon for this Dexter and Germantown Pwky location. But they would not honor it. How do you stay in business with customer service and food like this. Really thought this would be a nice place to eat. Don't do it, I say. Big mistake if you eat here. read more

I am disappointed, I went to this place a year ago when the first opened and the catfish and fries were the best I ever had but they were not open for lunch. I come back a year later and they have new owners and menu... A menu with NO french fries and the first items on the menu were not even catfish??? What happened? I wanted a quick order of catfish and fries for $8 - $10 but not possible here... But you can get Ox tails, yams, and chiterlins???? Needless to say i dod not order but i will wait and see if they go back to their roots... Just give me fish and fries at a fair price. read more

This business is closed. Tried to go today and business is not open. I'd heard this was a great place for catfish. No luck today .

I got three catfish dinners on 4-29-20, the fish and sweet potatoes fries were drowning in grease..greasy mess, the white beans had thread like strings in them..the worst food ever..I was very disappointed..when I contacted the manager she was very unconcerned. That's the last $52.35 they will ever get out of me.. disgusting food.. read more

Ate here the other night had three Catfish fillets, fries, and coleslaw. Everything was very good. The person behind the counter was extremely nice and also threw in an extra fillet since they were closing up for the night. I would definitely recommend this place and eat there again. read more

I'm uber happy to have a catfish restaurant in the area... The catfish is good and the fries are great. They are sidewinder fries, my first time having them and they're awesome. They close early and tend to run out of certain food items closer to the close of business. Also, they don't take call in orders. read more

Received takeout order fast but was disappointed when checked my plate very small portions.

I've been lookimg for a good catfish place and I have finally found it. The food is goood and fresh. We will be visiting again.

Best fish plate in memphis. Fresh every time ! My bf raved about how good his catfish plate was then went back for the buffalo. The hush puppies are awesome too. read more

I really wanted to give this place a higher score but I couldn't. The service was good. The food was just not up to par...The good: Macaroni and yams(especially the yams)were tasty. The bad: Chicken wings were undercooked, Catfish was too fishy for Catfish, the greens had no flavor and the dressing was flavorless, dry and just disrespectful to the good soulful dressing I have grown up eating. Cordova needs a great soul food restaurant so I hope this restaurant will try again. read more

Wasn't appetizing at all way overpriced... wasted money still hungry thanks for nothing...

Husband and son ate there tonight. They said it was delicious! Fish was good size and was super fresh. My son loved the shape of the fries.

This place closed for a while and re opened. I called today to order catfish fillets only. I was told that for $10 catfish fillets the total would be $49. I assume they're under new management, and whomever the new management is, they've clearly lost their minds. read more

Just finished dinner there ... The owner was nice. But!!!! I order catfish but it wasn't real catfish strips it was Swai fish from grocery store... charge $10 a piece for two drinks a shot of crown royal come on crown royal isn't top premium... But here's the kicker as we sat at bar I saw roaches crawling on walls bye the service window..That was it for me Cordova fish..The waiters were all ghetto dress not proper for restaurants with the exception of young lady on register.. mac and cheese was cold.. U got work to do Cordova Catfish read more

They are open on Sundays! I was happy with my food and the employees were really nice. I would recommend you give them a try!

Update: we tried the spaghetti and it was ahhhmazing... the meat sauce taste like my grandmothers ;-)

Great Food. Best Catfish in Memphis. I was standing in line behind a lady that was complaining about prices. The cashier did not get rude with her, but everybody in line was tired of this stupid lady's comments about why the cake was so high. To this lady, next time go to Captain D's!!! It's obvious you couldn't afford to eat out. Because it's black owned and she was black, she thought she could criticize the prices and hold the line up! Next time lady go somewhere else and let others standing in line with some money order our food. read more

I don't often write reviews, but must share this. This restaurant is the best kept secret in the Memphis area. I only recently discovered it, and can say without hesitation that it is some of the best catfish and soul food I have ever eaten. When I was told by the server that all of the food is cooked from scratch, I didn't really believe it at first. I do now! The fried catfish filets are very fresh, with a crisp, flavorful coating. Every vegetable or side I have tried has been delicious, especially the greens and the spaghetti. They have chitterlings on Sundays, and they, too, are delicious. The menu is extensive, so I'll try some of the other dishes, too. For now, I'm stuck on the soul food, since I had not been able to find good soul food anywhere near Cordova and had given up. The service has been great every time I've visited and the restaurant is very nice inside. They also have a full bar! read more

Stopped by on Friday for lunch and got the 2 pc catfish dinner. It was cooked fresh (took 10-15 min)and had good seasoning. Slaw was ok. Met the owner, she was great and fun to joke with, I'll be going back for lunch on Fridays. It's a little out of the way but if you want some tasty catfish, it's not that far. read more

REAL cozy! Great food. I will be headed back on Sunday! They told us they have Ox Tails and Chitterlings!!

This has got to be the worst place around to buy fish at.. They give you 3 pieces of fish but they are so tiny, it's more of a nugget plate than a fish plate. they basically take a catfish and slice it three ways.. I see why this place is never crowded, total waste of money !!!! read more

This place is unprofessional with poor service! The order took too long even though it was a call in. The cashier was conversing with her sister and totally ignoring customers.
