I love Southern Hospitality Mannn!!! We stopped here after our FAMILY REUNION because, we're foodies and although, we ate a lot at the BBQ we wanted more food! I knew that I should've gotten a plate to go. HA! I had the fried green tomatoes and peach cobbler as my "after the BBQ SNACK," but snuck a nibble from other family members plates (wink) ok maybe, I didn't sneak, but I did try others food. The service is top tier! On a Friday night, early around 5:30pm it was not crowded for dine-in but of course there is a line for carry out at the door! But when I say organized and well oiled machine, yes it was that but warm and friendly. Directions on where to stand are clearly displayed for call-in and to-go. A sign was also displayed regarding wait time. There was no yelling out orders or the feel of chaos and I like that. There were no employees standing around looking busy or multiple people in one spot, again very well oiled machine. The prices are clearly displayed with specials listed. So as I stepped up, I placed my order for 2pcs catfish dinner for $10.99 that came with 1 side and hush puppies. Not bad but how does it taste? The hush puppies are sweet but good. I got okra as a side and they nothing specia and a bit greasy but just okay. They were not hot out the grease but greasy. Hush puppies were not fresh out the grease but still good. Now the main character, the catfish. It was hot out the grease and that smell is the things dreams are made of, you long for that smell. I looked inside and snmiled a big smile. Very nice two pieces of catfish for the price. My only complaint is I prefer my fish fried a bit harder, with a crunch and this was not that. This is by far and away my favorite spot for Catfish near my work. I'm really glad they are here. It's simple, consistent, fairly inexpensive if you get the specials, and the people are just really nice. I've never encountered anyone who wasn't overly polite and extra helpful. I think it's run by a family if I'm not mistaken. All of the staff makes an effort to make sure you like your food and have everything you might need. I just love that! It's uncommon to find these days and I really appreciate it. I would probably continue coming here even if the food was sub par. Good news for you and me is that it is not! Shrimp was soooo good and meaty! Cocktail sauce for shrimp perfect! Wasn't a fan of the oysters but I've NEVER had oysters so not sure what their suppose to taste like. Delicious food! I got the platter with the fried catfish and fried shrimp. The shrimp were HUGE which is a big plus and the catfish fillets were also huge! The spaghetti has to be ordered separately and not as a side with a combo so I tried it. It was good. Not AMAZING but good. No complaints on the spaghetti. I also got mac n cheese (good stuff) but my favorite side were the green beans! They were very flavorful, NOT salty, and just plain delicious. However, I think the green beans have pork in them. My bf got the special with the catfish and 1 side. He really liked his food too. We both loved the hush puppies! You will leave very very full. I had plenty leftover from my platter for another meal and the special is a good amount for 1 serving but you will still be VERY full.
