Baked chicken

Hole in the wall local soul food place. Excellent mac and cheese, creamy and flavorful. One of the best ones I have had. Thursday is turkey Wing day with excellent brown gravy. Delicious cabbage and potatoes. The corn muffins were delicious but burnt on bottom but that was minor. Staff and owner were so kind. You will not be sorry!

Fried chicken, mac n cheese, spaghetti.

Pretty good place! Lots of options so will have to come back a few times to try other things. Start off by saying that I never would have stopped by if not for the power of people. JUST this morning someone started a thread on Twitter for people to discuss best places to eat in town. Scrolling through the list I made mental notes of options to try. Well, running an errand at lunch heading down 3rd street and out of the corner of my eye I see the sign for Daisy's. Hey wait, I remember reading about them this morning! (Daisy's wasn't on yelp before this). I decided to turn around and grab some lunch to go back to work. Again, I likely never would have thought twice to stop in if not for the twitter discussion. They open at 11 every day (closed Saturday) so perfect timing! It was 10:58. I parked and got in line outside (just a handful of other folks waiting on this soul food goodness). They were running behind and didn't open until about 11:10 I was okay on time but some others had to leave. You order at the counter and the food is doled out cafeteria style, and you pay at the end. I heard someone asking about fried chicken (not out yet) so I asked about how long. Just 5 minutes? Sure, I can wait! Once it was ready the lady called me up to jump back in line (not having to wait until the end). Got some dark meat fried chicken, and spaghetti and mac n cheese for my sides (not healthy at all today). Paid for my meal and headed back to the office. Food was good y'all! Fried chicken done really well, mac n cheese was really tasty, and the spaghetti had a good meat sauce to it. Oh, and good portions. I'm full! There's a decent amount of seating inside. I'd say probably half of a little more were grabbing to go and the rest eating in. A little bit of parking outside. While waiting on the chicken to get ready, the line was pretty busy, going through the lunch rush, but they get you in and out pretty quick through the line. Since they are pretty close to work, I'll definitely be back to try other things. I don't know if it's a place I'd travel to specifically if I was on the far side of town, but if you're close by it's a great option for lunch!

This is one of the best soul food restaurants in the south. It reminds me of my Grandmother's food so much. I eat there all the time.

Saw this place recommended on TikTok. My daughter and I wanted to try somewhere new. So glad we…read moredid. Food was absolutely delicious. We first started out with the fried green tomatoes which were so good! I had the turkey and dressing, yams, and turnip green. All delicious and yummy. My daughter got the fried catfish, cabbage, and pickled green tomatoes. I'm not the biggest catfish person, but theirs is really good! Seasoned great. Even though we had so much food, we shared a peach cobbler which we both enjoyed. Staff was very friendly and very attentive. Will definitely be returning again.

First of all, I am completely obsessed with their turkey and dressing. I dream about it. It's the perfect blend of everything and it feels like Thanksgiving every day!!! Add the gravy, ask for extra on the TD - yes I know the shortcut for the meal! I also get extra cranberry sauce on the side. Then there's the baked chicken, fall-off-the-bone tender, perfectly seasoned, and honestly, just as good as Aunt Bay Bay used to make (don't tell her I said that). The mac and cheese is creamy, cheesy, golden on top, the kind that is made with the béchamel! It instantly takes you back to family dinners. And it's not just the food that keeps me coming back. It's the consistency. Every single time I've been, the food is hot, delicious, and exactly what I hoped for. The staff is friendly and warm--you feel like you're at home the moment you walk in. There's this beautiful energy there. By the way, Stax music artists and Dr. King used to go to the private room there. It's historic! This place is a Memphis treasure. A national treasure, honestly. The kind of spot you bring visitors to when you want to show them what real hospitality tastes like. If you've never been to The Four Way, stop what you're doing and GO. Get the turkey and dressing. Thank me later.

This place came highly recommended. We went to check it out on a Sunday and the expectations were…read morepretty high. You place your order first and then you find a seat if one is available to dine in. Dining is limited and the establishment consist of local black artwork covering the walls there is an upstairs area, but that seating is also limited. The owner was very proud of his establishment and gave us the history of how they came about and who cooks what in the restaurant. The service was great the food unfortunately did not match. I'm all for supporting black owned businesses, but I have to give honest feedback. Starting with the sides, the spaghetti, the cabbage, and the greens all had excessive amounts of sugar in them, which was such a turn off, everything taste the same it was so sweet it created a film in my mouth of sugar. The sweet tea lemonade mix was again full of sugar. You couldn't taste the lemonade or the tea. It was just sweetness. I do understand certain people like their food like this. I however, am not one of those individuals. The turkey ribs, a.k.a. clavicle bone taste like smoked bologna and the A1 barbecue sauce did not enhance the flavor whatsoever I nor my mother could finish our food the cornbread taste like mush everything overpowered everything there was no distinct taste of broccoli or cheese just mushy wet undercooked cornbread that again was sweet. The only star of the show for this experience was the fried fish. It was cooked to perfection seasoned well surprisingly without sugar. We could not finish our food after a couple of bites so we took it to go and handed it to a homeless person on the way home. I love the concept of this establishment. I love how they incorporate other black businesses and I can tell he is proud of his work. I would love to support in other ways, just not through the food unfortunately, I will not be returning but I pray this establishment continues to improve, evolve, and thrive, it's a million herbs and spices to utilize, sugar doesn't have to be one of them and for $70 bucks I do expect to enjoy the food to some extent.

Talbert is Jim & Samella's grandson and HE CAN COOOOOOK! On this day, I had one of the best meals I have ever eaten in Memphis! He began with a salad made with veggies from Knowledge Quest. He pickled the fresh vegetables and then sautéed some of them in brown butter. His next course was a Soul Roll with collard greens inside a fried egg roll with yam sauce. We then cleaned off our palates with pineapple sorbet that had small pieces of pineapple inside. The main course was a choice between chicken or oxtail with dressing. The vegetables were green beans or Brussels sprouts as well as sweet potatoes. Dessert was a choice between sweet potato pie, pound cake or bread pudding. I cannot believe how delicious everything was. My chicken was falling off the bone. Everything was so well seasoned. You will never need salt or pepper in this restaurant. The restaurant is located in Talbert's grandparents' actual house. The decor is such that you totally feel at home. It's such a delightful experience!!! What makes this an even better experience is knowing that the restaurant adopted Ida B. Wells Academy to buy school supplies for the kids. I hear on Sundays, they get so packed that you can't get a seat and they run out of food every Sunday. Someone there said "you have to be posted up by 10:30 to get in." The restaurant is only open three days out of the week. They have set menus for each day. I will have to try every single one! This is an INSANELY AMAZING restaurant in the heart of South Memphis.
