We came here on a Sunday, so the crowd was not a surprise. Despite the crowd, the line moved fairly quick and the employees were friendly and helpful. The interior is clean and the menu is posted on the left wall, with their daily specials and entrees that are served on certain days. There are also options for vegetarian diets. Pricing depends on what you want and portions are very generous. read more

Smothered chicken, yams and cabbage The food is nasty. I actually cried because I was so hungry and excited because it looks good. The yams nasty af! Tastes like sweet potatoes no sugar. Cabbage tastes earthy. And the chicken needs some more flavor. The corn bread is not sweet it's hot water cornbread which is fine just didn't expect that. Just highly disappointed thought I was gonna get a meal that taste like somebody grandma made it but I guess everybody grandma can't cook read more

Wonderful selection of soul food with amazing flavors. They keep the lines moving quickly and you have a clear view of the selections. I have only carried out from this location. read more

This place is in the middle of a strip mall and some what difficult to see from the street. Plenty of parking in the private lot. Parking spots have no lines and the parking lot is filled with glass and potholes. Be patient with this place. They are not open on Saturdays and it may take a couple of phone calls to get someone. Best to just go in and wait in line. Ignore the menu, this place will cook certain food items when they feel like it. I came on a Sunday and had to wait in line for over an hour. There were 35 people already in line and they were preparing a large catering order. The food is served cafeteria style so it does not take long. The food tastes great. It is well seasoned and the the portions are large. Prices are low. I love the turkey wings/legs, mac and cheese, and greens. Very affordable prices. read more

Don't eat here. They have bugs!!!!!! Nasty dirty establishment just like the workers. They had the nerve to be rude towards me because I point out a big water bug that was behind the counter. I immediately left. read more

The Spaghetti Plate with broccoli & cheese and Mac n cheese is a ten out of ten for sure!!! Guy working behind the counter was very professional and polite got me in and out with my pickup order and made sure I was taken care of when they were out of what I originally ordered by giving me a call and asking!!! Scenery was very nice as well. Definitely recommend giving them a try and will continue having me as a customer read more

The Crock Pot II - Friday's special : spaghetti plate - Soul Food Near Me - Memphis, Tennessee

I ordered this meal via uber eats because....Covid. I ordered their Thursday Special, Lasagna with cabbage and fried okra. I also ordered the catfish sandwich with fries and a drink. It took an hour and 45 minutes to get the order. It wasn't picked up by the uber driver until an hour had passed. My order was placed in Styrofoam containers and cellophaned together to try to keep the heat in....very much appreciated. There was no drink left for the catfish sandwhich meal. I wasn't too upset about that as I had expected it. It said it came with fries and a drink but didn't give options to select a drink on the uber eats website. So I was okay with not having a drink....but when I opened the container, there were no fries and 2 fried "catfish" fillets in between two slices of think Texas bread....it wasn't toasted so I'm not calling it Texas toast. When I tried the fish, it tasted more like swai than catfish. The lasagna looked like I got the scraping from the bottom of the pan. Not neat and layered at all. Tasted like a doctored hamburger helper meal with shredded cheese sprinkled on top. The cabbage was okay but had ZERO seasoning. Bland as can be. The fried okra was alright but again no seasoning. But it was fried well. I like to give fair reviews. In this case, I did not recieve what I paid for and the quality of the food I received left a lot to be desired. Not sure if I'll waste my money with them again but if I do, hopefully I would be able to update this review. This was my first time having their food. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. read more

There were a great variety of entrees to eat. The portion sizes were filling. The food was delicious

My wife and I have ate Grubhub delivery from here about 5 times. The food is consistently Southern and prepared well. On 2 occasions I had ordered an entree that sold out and promptly got a call from the restaurant (not Grubhub) apologizing for the inconvenience and switching over to another delicious dish with no hassle! After I finished my meal I was glad my first choice sold out! The replacement was fantastic! (smothered chops, greens, potato salad) I would recommend CrockPot 2 to anybody sick of fast food or fancy spots that break the bank! Glad they are an option! read more

Good home cooked food that's seasoned right , quick service, friendly staff, must eat!

I go here everyday for veggies!! Service is great, they move pretty fast. You should most definitely try it

Salty as hell and just not good. Service 7/10. Clean. I will not be going back. Been twice never again.

Fantastic soul and scrumdiddlyumptious food. Food is always good and I love that I can call in my orders and that they takes Apple Pay. Service is usually great as well and pretty prompt as well as accurate. Only once where it wasn't accurate. Sometimes Cornbread is a hit or a miss but I love love love going her for some good home cooked soul food.!!! read more

They're going to nickel & dime themselves out of business. Nasty attitudes... 1$ extra for this... 50 cent extra for a to go cup, for my veggies, so my chicken won't get wet. 1$ extra for yams... the market has increased... 6 dollars extra for this ... Hell Just go to captain D's 4.00 for a small side..... then the servers nasty.... Folk don't have to support y'all read more

the experience at this soul food restaurant left much to be desired. The dishes lacked seasoning, with neck bones devoid of any meat, leaving a bland taste that failed to evoke the soulful flavors expected. Adding to the disappointment was the rude grouchy customer service, which unfortunately overshadowed any potential redeeming qualities. While the intentions may be noble, the execution falls short, making it difficult to recommend this establishment. Additionally, the side dishes tasted like they came straight out of a can, lacking the homemade touch that enhances a soul food meal. read more

Years ago this place was the bomb. Over time the quality has gone ALL THE WAY DOWN. Even went once and the portion size of 2 pieces of baked chicken were not even worth the price. Gave me a small leg and thigh that were a child's portion. It was so small the customer behind me asked where the rest was. Used to be my go to for soul food but now you are better off going to southern hands. read more

My first time in Crock Pot II the food was delicious seasoned well and more than enough proportions. Walking in and seeing the restaurant for the first reminds me of it being set up on a cafeteria style; the menu is on a variety choice where you choose what you want. read more

This use to be a good place to grab a quick meal. I am not sure what has happened here but, the food is so BLAND! I've noticed there is a smell when you first walk in... not sure what it is but it doesn't smell like delicious SOUL FOOD!!! Prephaps the cooks have changed. Customer service has declined as well. read more

I liked the food but the variety is such that I would literally never come back unless I wanted that same meal. Everything here is fried, which is great when you're in the mood for it, but not so great when you tend to lean toward the healthier side of grilled foods. Anyway, the list of sides they have on the backboard is not representative of the sides they actually have. It's best to just look at the line and see what they actually have rather than look at the list of what they are supposed to have when you are ordering. I made this mistake and had to pick both my sides again as they were unavailable and not gonna be made that day. But the ladies were really nice about it and even gave me a water cup for free. It was a Monday or a Tuesday so I got the Fried Shrimp Dinner off the daily menu. The shrimp is cooked to order and can take 15 minutes but ended up taking only about 5-10. I got cornbread, pinto beans, and corn. All in all, it was a really good meal and I really enjoyed it. But as I said before, nothing else appealed to me so I am not sure if I would go back or not (I'm fond of variety). Favorites: Fried Shrimp Dinner Pinto Beans Corn Cornbread read more

The staff was very friendly. The food was tasty. I had meatloaf. If tasted like a Sloppy Joe, but in a meatloaf form. I enjoyed it. We also tried the smothered chicken It, too was tasty, but gummy. The highlight of the meal for me were the beans. Delicious! The reason I can't give them more stars is they were out of a lot of things. The menu listed all of the daily specials, but that's not what was being served. "Sorry, we're out of that." The real bummer was they were out of cornbread. When I ordered the beans, the nice man asked me if I was sure I wanted them because they were out of cornbread. I'm glad I got them, they were the best thing we had, but they would have been better if they'd had that cornbread. We will go back again and hopefully find a larger selection. read more

The Crock Pot II - Meatloaf with Corn, Beans, and a Roll. Yum! - Soul Food Near Me - Memphis, Tennessee

It's a hidden gem definitely 1 of 1.. the food has never disappointed me been a customer for 15years and it's black owned.

First visit was not impressed with the food or the service. I arrived at 1115am on a Friday, they open at 11am. I looked at the menu and decided I'd order from the daily entree side instead of the Friday menu. I asked for smothered pork chops, they didn't have any, ok, fine I chose smothered chicken white meat, only to be told " we don't have any wings", so I get a leg instead. I hear the lady behind me order regular fried wings and she was told we only have three wings. Ok, I could understand if the place had been opened a while, but it wasn't even 30mins before they were saying we don't have this or that. If you're going to display daily entrees and sides every day at least offer what's on the board. The sides that were advertised for today, I only saw two, the rest were I guess whatever they chose to make. Anyway, I won't visit again, the food was nothing to rave about in my opinion. read more

This place as amazing. My siblings hate here one day and I was able to taste their food. I had to come myself and try something else. Its really hard to find soul food place that cooks with turkey instead of pork. Since I am aware of this place it will be one of my favorites. I can't wait to try out the full menu spread. read more

I have ordered a plate of macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes with gravy, greens, and two pieces of fried chicken, and a piece of bread. The mashed potatoes were chunky and dry abd the greens and macaroni abd cheese were a little bit overseasoned but still good. I recommend not overseasoning the food. read more

Good, home cooked food. Staff is nice and patient even when people come in who are indecisive and want to get something for nothing. Nice portions, too. The Crock Pot is one of the few places who post reasons for price fluctuation. Other restaurants and grocery stores up the prices w/o notice. At least, Crock Pot prices are fair and the food is good. read more

not much variety but what they do have is pretty delicious and soulful.. they NEVER have cabbage but u can bet they will have yams, greens, and corn. Those are my go to veggies. to avoid the line i do call in and make a to go order and i skip right to the front to pick up and pay. read more

Only been here once. I ordered smoked Turkey wing (very dry and over cooked) the vegetables were good. A lil pricey!

This has to be a family business because the attitudes at this location on Shelby Drive is aweful. The ladies hate to answer any questions they are rude. Too many different charges for certain things. The guy who rings at the register must be the owner or management. He has no control over staff. He listens to staff curse and talk crazy and don't say anything but look around. But talking to him , he definitely seems slow. Service is slow. It's horrible. Mac n cheese is mushy like mash potatoes all the time, layered with cheap thick cheese. It's a lot of room for improvement. read more

This food is always good and I eat there every Sunday. Every time I come back to Memphis this is the first place I visit.

I love their beef ribs, cabbage and mac & cheese. All of food is awesome. And the price is on point

My daughter first told me about this place and I went by to pick up a take home dinner. The workers were very courteous and they actually wore plastic gloves while they prepared your plate. (a big plus these days) They give you way more than enough for the price you pay. I had 2 pieces of baked chicken, cabbage and broccolli w/cheese.....and paid less than $10!! It would have cost me more than that to cook that just for myself. It was absolutely delicious. I loved it so much, that I went right back the next day for lunch and took a friend. This time I actually ate in. It's a little small, but if you like that down home kind of feel, you will be just fine eating there. read more
