Little Jamaica delivered one of the closest flavors to Barbados that can be found on this side of the U.S. The curry goat was full of rich flavor, perfectly seasoned, and very tender. It had that subtle jerk-style kick that made every bite even more desirable. The cabbage was well cooked, the rice and peas were flavorful, and the plantains were a solid addition to the meal. The portion size was excellent, especially for the price, making the value stand out even more. Customer service was also excellent, which always adds to the experience. For a mall location, this spot really impressed, but honestly, the food is good enough that it deserves a full storefront of its own. If you want a taste that feels much closer to the islands without leaving the U.S., Little Jamaica is definitely worth the stop. The oxtail plate I got from here was a great choice for my first visit here. I'm glad that the Wolfchase Galleria has another food option to choose from. My food was really good! The only problem I had was that even though my oxtails were VERY tender, I still wanted the juice and seasonings from the pot to be on my plate which is usually something I didn't have to ask for at other spots. The serving size was huge and worth the price! I decided to try the oxtail dinner, which comes with rice and peas and potatoes. There may have been 3 baby potatoes. There was a small portion of cabbage. I wanted to try the jerk chicken, but they don't offer la carte for their meat options. The oxtails were meaty and delicious. Went to the mall to get a pretzel. Cruised the food court. Saw Oxtails (my son likes them). I've never had Jamaican food before. The absolute best fried plantains I have ever had! Had heard about this place, it is in the Wolfchase Food Court, so I would assume they have mall hours, and decided to try it for lunch. The food was pretty good but it would be nice to choose which piece of chicken you would like (ex. Thigh and wing or two thighs). The takeout plates are a bit flimsy, I've had food to spill before I got it home. Overall, I think its a good start for Little Jamaica. I am visiting the Wolfchase area from out of town. A friend of mine suggested that I try Little Jamaica in Wolfchase Mall. I ordered the cabbage. I made it back to my hotel and started to eat. The cabbage was EXCELLENT !!!! SEASONED TO PERFECTION. Tasted great. So you might say why a one-star rating. During the course of eating, I found 4 strands of black hair in the cabbage. I was 2 miles away back at my hotel. My happiness turned to sadness. I tried locating a number for them but was unsuccessful. I was going to reach out to them and let them know what happened. I was going to suggest maybe wearing hair nets when preparing food. Having worked for the Heath Department in another state it's a requirement for ladies to wear hair nets. I hope that next time I visit, they have on hair nets and there is no hair in my cabbage. read more
