    Patacones Plate
    Grace K.

Sabor Caribe was on the list to visit. It is advertised as a mixed Caribbean and Venezuelan restaurant. There are about 4 parking spots in the front of the restaurant. Per owner, there are parking spots in the back. There are other parking lots that you can park at, but it's like a block away. Upon entrance, there are about 8 tables inside. There is also patio seating outdoors that is covered. FOOD: Sampler Plate (3/5, Combination of 2 each of empanadas, arepas (per owner, this is like a pastry "pop"), patacones, and pastelitos): Empanada: These were good, simple chicken empanadas. They are savory corn turnovers filled with various ingredients. Arepa: Arepas are a grilled corn pocket with various ingredients. I didn't want to get the arepa dishes because they were a bit pricy for one. I did not think these were in the sampler; however, they are the circular pastries, slightly sweet with a cinnamon twist. Patacones: These were two quarter-sized bites of the chicken patacones, which did not do justice. I highly recommend getting the plate. Pastelito: I thought the pastelitos were the cinnamon pastries at first. However, these are the circular turnovers that had a spoonful of beef in them. Patacones Plate (5/5, Two fried plantain sandwiches with chicken and pork with cabbage, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese): If I had to explain this, this is like a burger with plantain as the buns. It is so good with the two sauces they have: cilantro green sauce and spicy orange sauce. I tried the chicken and pork, which had good flavor. You also have the option of black beans or beef. The service is good. The food comes out in a timely manner. The water never touched bottom. They also advertise a karaoke room here! Would I come back? I enjoyed the Patacones plate. I'd come back for that... maybe for the burger!

What brought us in were the 2 for $9 margaritas, and they WERE good, available in many flavors. The service this Saturday afternoon was not great, really slow. There was only one server on the floor, but I felt like the issue was really in the back of the house. The ambiance is nearly nonexistent. However, the food and drinks we tried were very enjoyable. My husband ordered some chicken pastelitos, followed by this monstrosity of a heart attack burger called the Bomba B. It is stacked high with a variety of meats and a fried egg. He declared it delicious and actually finished it, but didn't touch the mountain of fries it came with. This was a real bargain at just over $15. I had a black bean arepa and fried yucca. The flavors of the arepa were good, but this is not finger food and nearly impossible to cut with a knife given it is served in a plastic basket. The yucca was, sadly, clearly massed produced for the freezer. They were more like yucca fries, starchy and disappointing. We might return, but with a fresh insight as to what to expect.

Every once in a while, a place amazes me with the food and ambience. This is one of those places! I love their outdoor patio, which is perfect for enjoying their tropical cocktail menu. The food was incredible! We tried arepas, empanadas, and patacones and everything was juicy, fresh and delicious. We were so excited to take advantage of their $9.01 deals! I highly recommend brining friends for a casual dinner and drinks. They also have a karaoke/party room that is FREE to use! You have to try this place.

Amazing food and great staff! This was my first experience with Venezuelan food and I wasn't disappointed. A friend ordered a round of appetizers for the table and I got to try so many diverse flavors. The Sifrina was chocked full of chicken salad & avocado. I also enjoyed my strawberry margarita with Tajin on the rim. Lastly, I enjoyed the avocado & cheese tasty treat.

Everything was delicious and fresh, and the service was top-notch as if you were family. Great food, a cozy spot in downtown perfect for a bite for lunch or dinner.

Decided to kick off my weekend by trying out this spot. I've seen several Instagram posts and added it to my list of places to check out. It was a last-minute call at the end of my work day, and im happy I followed through. We chose to park around back and entered via the stairs, which were a little slippery due to the weather. Music is blasting from outdoor speakers as you walk up. Our timing was great as there were only two occupied tables at our arrival, but this ch aged within the next 30 minutes. Waitress was super helpful in recommending the sampler platter. Venezuelan travel ($20.80) : beef epanada, chicken arepa , chicken cachapa, and chicken Patagonia with a side of Yucca fries. I couldn't pass up the XL passion fruit margarita I've seen on numerous IG reels. Latin music plays throughout the restaurant while you eat. Experience was a 5/5, and I can't wait to visit again soon. The front and back patios will be great for spring visits.

First time experiencing this restaurant Food: nice portion sizes, great flavors and seasonings, but a tab bit on the salty side. The sweet plantains complements this dish. Service: was friendly and welcoming! Ambiance: clean, casual, family friendly and there's seating outdoors too! Parking available in the front and back of business. There's also a karaoke room set with a bar to hang out at.

    Pabellon Plate

Cool ambience and service. However, the quality and food was lackluster at best. I decided on the Pabellón plate and an empanada. It was acceptable, but not come-back worthy. The plantain portion was great, albeit cold. It was worth the visit to try, but perhaps you'll have better luck.

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Potato and chicken Pastelitos omg! so satisfying. 10/10 Chicken and beef empanadas are easily 10/10 possibly the best in Memphis.

The ambiance and service were lovely. We ordered tequeños, arepa pabellón, and the Venezuela style burger. The tequeños were better than mozzarella sticks--sweet bread, soft cheese filling, interesting sauces to try with it. The arepa pabellón was flavorful and fun to eat. I will probably not get the Venezuela style burger again. It wasn't bad at all, but the arepas and appetizers were more interesting and better tasting to me

Went here for happy hour after seeing a post on IG. I was definitely not disappointed. There is parking in the front and the back. The front parking is more so for food delivery pickups. If you park in the back, be forewarned that you have to walk up stairs. We sat ourselves when we came in the door. I ordered a drink and tacos. They did not disappoint. I definitely recommend stopping in.

    Domino Arepa, Fried Sweet Plantain

Visited Memphis for a weekend and got lucky enough to eat here, wishing we had enough time to go again. The plantains were absolutely out of this world, my friend and I each had a different arepa that we loved, and the cafe con leche was perfect. Id you're gluten free, this is a great spot.

    Bomba-B with yucca fries
    Mathew S.

Insanely good. Great value. Will update the review when I've had other fare they offer. But the Bomba-B with yucca fries was fantastic. Easily two meals. Be sure to grab some of the green and red sauces; they taste mayo based- the green is an herby cilantro concoction. The red has some legitimate heat to it. Perfect compliment to the yucca fries. As for the burger, we'll, dang. Beef patty, fried egg, bacon, ham, pulled pork, tomato, cabbage slaw, maybe some potato strings, and the above mentioned mayo-based sauce. A pleasant buttery flavor kind of tied everything together. Much different, and with good effect, that any other burger I've had in town. I'll certainly head back to try the arepas and other Venezuelan options they offer.

Tried the food and it didn't taste good and it is too expensive for what it's worth. Wouldn't try again.

Met with great customer & a small line (3 ppl max). The cashier was making drinks and taking orders while being prompt and charismatic. The wait staff on point as well. Cleaned our table off with quickness so we could sit outside. I ordered Esquites, Dama with Rous, Sandwich Venezolano (not pictured) with a Juan Famous margarita & a mangorita. My bf enjoyed his chicken sandwich and gave it a 8.5/10. Next time will try the pulled pork one. The Dama is super delicious. It's like a lighter version of beef stew in my opinion. The fresh cilantro has a refreshing taste to the dish - 10/10. The Esquites was oddly enjoyable. The tajin made it a little tart but it's basically just as the cream corn I grew up eating - 8/10. Now the star of the show is them RITAS. 20oz of pure goodness. If you come on certain days - the Juan marg is only 3.95 with your meal. That's a good steal in my book. We were able to get a regular and a mango marg. The mango was super juicy and packed with flavor. I dropped a couple pieces into my drink to make it fruiter and it works. Kinda strong drinks but no one is going to that as a compliant from me lol. Please give this place a try. It's located in crosstown and they help support international cuisine. #MemphisEats

They have a nice bar program with plenty of liquor and a few tap choices available . Unfortunately, the "huge" steak burrito ($15) fell flat. BUT Service is great!! While the presentation was nice, the meat was entirely unseasoned. It was very cheesy, but lacked the bold flavor you'd expect from a burrito of that size.
