I don't always write reviews, but when I do, it's because something resonates with me that has to be attempted in words. In my attempt to be concise, the peach and strawberry bellinis remind me that the presence must be more appreciated than ever. The Osso Bucco is perfection plated, and the shrimp and squash fritters pay homage To the comfort food of the south with the gracefulness of any farm-to-table restaurant. I sat at the bar with my lovely mother, and the service was quick and impeccable. The ebb and flow of the kitchen with the front of the house is admirable, and definitely noticeable after my years in the industry. The mis-en-place is miraculous and there never seemed to be a glass unwashed or misplaced. For a beautiful yet unpretentious meal, come here. read more

Not only is the place in a great location with nice outdoor and indoor space, there was NOTHING that did not taste like absolute HEAVEN! Came here for lunch with the BFF to start our spa day. It's located on a corner with street parking. Parking wasn't hard to find this beautiful day. As we walked in, I was surprised to see that it wasn't so big of a restaurant. It was bright and airy. Before coming here, we checked out the menu and already knew what we wanted to order. I ordered the roasted young chicken with quinoa and rice pilaf. It also has some kind of greens I wasn't a fan of so I just pushed it to the side. Other than that, it come with 2 pieces. One white and one dark with crispy skin (yum!). I'm really not into white meat for fear of being dry, but this was not the case. It was juicy and tasty. I enjoyed the dark meat better, buy like I said, I'm not really into white meat. I also liked the quinoa with rice pilaf; it went well together. The BFF ordered the kobe steak sandwich. When they served her her plate I was wowed with all the meat stacked on the two pieces of bread surrounded by a salad. It looked delicious. I didn't get a taste of it but BFF ate all of it. :) I take it she liked it. Before I forget, the cornbread was pretty good. We ordered the 4 piece order. It looked different than I imagined but tasted delightful with the honey lavendar butter. The butter makes the bread. Even though I liked the cornbread, I thought it was a bit pricey for $9. Wonderful breakfast or brunch spot! Friendly people, good food with real newspapers scattered on the bar top! The espresso was perfect and while the breakfast menu is short it is creative and if you're not sure what to order, ask your server for a recommendation- they won't steer you wrong! Brunch has a longer menu and the tamales are out of this word! One of my pet peeve's with breakfast places is when they serve you fruit it's usually hard unripened melon and maybe a few grapes. I guess I was really expecting some knock-out amazing food after all of the reviews and the aggressive wait time for this establishment! And we definitely ordered a cornucopia of food like we were on a Food Network experience too. First we started with the famed cornbread with house-made butter. It was as delicious as promised, so no complaints there. Second, the cinnamon roll - no claim to fame to be found here. We were told it had been heated up but we found no evidence of that upon tasting. It was on the drier side and tougher than we had hoped. Also, just not sweet. If I want to be a glutton, I want to be a glutton all the way. Third - we went with a side order of their sweet potato and banana pancake. I was pleased with this - not too sweet and the syrup (a necessary addition) perfectly complimented the sweetness of the banana. I loved it. For entrees: I went with the soup and quiche - their quiche that day was a bacon / onion / cheddar combination. It was an enormous slice and very fluffy - my friend loved it. It had a great consistency and the edges were perfectly crisped. To be honest, it wasn't my favorite - I thought it was too bland. The soup that accompanied it was a lobster bisque. We were all excited to try it and... I don't know how to explain but the flavor was just off. Like the seafood stock just didn't quite taste right. It just was not working. Our third friend went with the famed Chiliquiles. She said it tasted very good but I noted she wasn't really eating it either. The portion sized looked great, so unsure if she had just reached her peak of eating. They don't take reservations ahead of time, and there seems to be a constant wait - so plan ahead for some time strolling the town. Bloody Marys tasted like garbage, the peach Bellini smelled fishy, the cornbread tasted like it was baked yesterday, and the service was disorganized. I had the buttermilk pancakes, but they're weren't anything better than something you can cook at home or get at Denny's. The burger was just ok....all seasons in calistoga did it better. The fries were kind of addictive with the chili stuff but again, all season's fries were tastier. I came here with my family last weekend for an early dinner and we really enjoyed ourselves! The portions weren't huge, but they were satisfying so no complains there. My grandmother had the fish tacos and she really enjoyed them! My parents both had the hanger steak and fries both of which tasted amazing, however portions could have been larger for the price. We knew that most places in Napa would be this way though so it didn't subtract from our experience. My sister and I both had a sandwich which was amazing! The service was alright. I have never walked out of a restaurant before but today, I came very close. When we arrived, there was a large party along with all other smaller tables full. The wait to seat wasn't long and soon we had placed our order. We ordered the cornbread, quiche and chilaquiles. Our coffee and tea arrived about 10 minutes after our order and the cornbread another 10 minutes later. The cornbread was delicious. Forty (40) minutes later we still had not been served our breakfast. Our patience ended (we do understand service and kitchen challenged with large parties) when three tables around us were served before us and they were seated well after us. We flagged down another server and asked for our check for the cornbread and drinks - we were done waiting. Low and behold, our server came out with our food. The quiche was good and came with a nice salad. The chilaquiles were yummy - light and good portion size ( not too large). If you see a large party at this restaurant - keep on walking. The skillet cornbread with honey lavender butter was as mad derricious as many others have said - soft, moist and bursting with corny goodness. Be sure to ask for extra buttery awesome. My chilaquiles was quite tasty though admittedly I have no real point of reference as this was my first experience with the dish. Being one of my friend's favorite brunch dishes, she wasn't nearly as impressed FWIW. Good service and a nice atmosphere were pluses as well. We accepted and were very happy with Gerardo's service! My partner had the seared ahi salad cooked exactly to specification while I had the halibut (they no longer offered the sole). FOUND THIS PLACE one Saturday morning, The place I wanted to go, was fully booked, What a fortunate happenstance.. I really wanted to sit out side and enjoy the wonderful spring weather, and they have tables outside, I hadbthevaded issue of eating with.my vegan friend. A small, cosy little restaurant in downtown Napa. Reviews seems pretty good for the brunch but we came for dinner instead. Came on a weekday and was lucky to find a street parking lot just right outside the restaurant. Restaurant was pretty empty on an early weekday evening They do not have a dinner menu but a menu that stated "Supper". It has only a few choices of mains and appetizers that makes it easy to us to decide on what we're gonna order. Ordered Roasted Young Chicken - $22 , it was really good, not too oily and meat is tender, served with a generous portion of vegetables 8/10. Also ordered Cassolet (with duck confetti, lamb and sausage, butter beans and garlic bread crumbs)- $26. An interesting dish with a mix of different kinds of meat, would recommend this if you're a meat lover! Also ordered Southwest Tamale (with chipotle pulled pork and chili). It was good at the first few bites but eventually it taste more like a pie that I can prepare it at home. Will be back to try the brunch menu that most yelpers has been raving about. This place is a cute and quaint little brunch and lunch cafe in downtown napa. The food was delicious although I did suffer what we think was salmonella poisoning after eating here. I think it was due to some undercooked eggs. Thankfully my boyfriend didn't get sick (he didn't touch my eggs). Even though my food poisoning was an awful experience, I still give this place four stars for a friendly staff, great ambiance, and just an overall positive vibe. I didn't have their pancakes but they did look delicious. I will probably try that the next time I go back (and skip the eggs). In case you were wondering, I had the prime rib with eggs and fruit. Had breakfast here on Valentine's Day. They do not take breakfast reservations on the weekend so come early! Hubby and I walked over from our hotel in Napa and arrived 15 minutes before opening. We were the first to arrive but soon enough a line began to form! Right at 9 am, the doors were opened and parties quickly filled up the restaurant. All the tables were packed 10 minutes after opening! The seats at the bar were taken about 30 minutes after opening. (On a side note, despite there being a mess of people outside the door before opening, and no sign in, everyone still allowed the others to enter as they showed up, pretty cool) The menu was a good size, with lots of options for those craving breakfast or lunch type meals. Since we did our research, we knew what we wanted right away, so the waiter promptly took our order. FYI, in California, we noticed that at all restaurants you need to ask for water now because of the drought. For starters, we got an order of the corn bread with honey lavender butter (because of the other reviews), and it did not disappoint. The cornbread was very flavorful and warm, with pieces of corn in it, and the butter was...amazing (we usually skip butter). We also tried the donut, since we heard it sells out. We thought it was missing something. It was fresh, but basically a large cake donut with some powdered sugar on top. Not bad but nothing special. For our meals, I opted for the pumpkin buttermilk pancakes. The pancakes were large, and came in a triple stack. The pumpkin flavor was not super strong (I couldn't taste it but Hubby tasted hints). But they were still very moist and warm, with a generous cup of maple syrup to drizzle on as needed. Hubby ordered the quiche, which is something different for him. It was very large, and came with a nice bed of mixed greens. He enjoyed the quiche as it reminded him of something that an awesome grandmother would cook. Very comforting food. The service was good, water never seemed to go empty and the food and check came quickly. The only strange thing, was that the sun rising in the east window seemed to cause people fits. We were one of the lucky tables to sit along that window, and despite it being mid February, once that sun hit the skies, it got HOT. There were some curtains that we and a few other tables had to attempt to close, but far from a logical design for something that would seem to happen daily. This was the only time we really didn't see any help from the staff (it was not easy to close the curtains as they were 13ft tall). Maybe some tint, or realigning the tables so that half the table isnt facing the sun directly might help? Despite this, the meal was still very enjoyable. read more

Cute little spot. I went for brunch on a Saturday before leaving town after a conference. I got there at 9:45, and the restaurant was full, but I got a seat at the bar immediately. My server, Antonio, was really nice. I got the quiche and organic greens. It was exactly what I was craving. Perfect crust with nice, light, fluffy quiche. The organic greens were great as well. With the new restrictions due to COVID, they have really stepped up and made for a wonderful experience. The menu is offered through a QR scan which you can peruse on your phone. It was sent via text to me and was easy to look at. We had the Cornbread with Lavender Butter and Strawberry and White Peach Salad to start. Both very good. For dinner I had the Scallop Risotto and he had the Cassoulet. There's a reason there is no salt or pepper on the table, they know what they are doing. Very tasty and hearty. Their spin on the Risotto with pea purée and whole peas was delicious. Miguel and Audrey were very attentive and courteous, all while wearing their masks. Yesterday a friend and I were in Napa for the day, she called to see if we needed RSVP's. The lady who answered shared they do take RSVP's and walk in's as well. She shared they had availability. When we arrived the hostess who wasn't so pleasant, asked if we had RSVP's. We said no but had just called and was told walk in's were ok (there were three tables presently seated). She stated that RSVP's took precedence, and stated to talk about their ability to serve us. When we reiterated, "we were told it was ok to walk in", she asked whom we spoke to, which we replied it was a woman. She than seated us at a table. Our server (Audrey) was extremely pleasant, helpful, kind and very accommodating. In my opinion, she was an example of an "excellent waitress"! Thank you Audrey for the amazing experience. This was our first dining out experience from the "Shelter in Place" being lifted which, I I believe we are all dying to have a "dining out experience again"! During our unexpected trip to Napa, the husband and I actually ate here twice -- once for dinner and once for brunch. Street parking was readily available, and for brunch we managed to score on of their few outside tables. FYI, this is the kind of place that will ask if you have a reservation, but they didn't have any trouble seating us without one. All of the food was fantastic. It's very clean, French-influenced California cuisine. The seared tuna salad was so good that we got it on both visits. I loved the skillet cornbread and lavender butter, and especially the fact that you can get it sized for a certain number of people. For dinner, I had the cassoulet, which was wonderfully hearty and comforting. It's a fairly large portion, so I took the leftovers to eat the next day. The husband enjoyed his burger, and the side of pea tendrils, which you don't see many place, was delicious. The vanilla creme brulee was similarly tasty, and the steak and eggs at brunch was very nicely done. Service was excellent. One of our servers actually looked almost exactly like Edna Mode (from The Incredibles), which was hilarious. Sitting outside for brunch, our server was happy to let us linger with our indecision and enjoy the nice weather. We were incredibly dissatisfied with the manager/owner coming over, after we dropped $300+ on brunch for the 6 of us, and let us know that "there was a bit of a wait and you know how that goes".
