May special for dinner sounds good! Available after 4:00, a soft-shell crab bucatini. We were there for lunch so opted for the Hot Honey Chicken biscuit and hash rounds. We got there just in time, there were already lots of people in the dining room eating and after we placed our order at the counter and got seated, a bunch more people came in. Our food came out quickly and correctly. The chicken biscuit had a good size piece of chicken and just enough sweet and heat. The biscuit was good; I cut off the top because I am a wierdo who doesn't like butter on top. Always on point, great space, food is really good!
Food: amazing! This was some flavorful, soul food right here! Greens were fire!! Mac & cheese..fire!!! I had the smoked wings which were delicious, except that I would get them with the relish, and drizzle on the side.Shrimp were good size, and tender!! The fish was cornmeal (which I'm ok with), and it was fried to perfection! My only problem with the food was my a la carte fried chicken wings. He needed some help. It was cold, and rubbery. Needed to be fried a minute or two longer IMO. Not a big fan of tipping before I even get my food, so I have to remember that when you have to order, pay, and optional tip before you even sit down. I like the overall appearance of the place. Very clean, and everyone was very nice. Definitely going back! Sorry about the half eaten food in the pics. Lol!!!
Atmosphere was vibrant and music sublime. The oldies and soul that gets you really enjoying your company and the food? This place had it. I got the fish and spaghetti, hubby got the grilled fish and "Grandma's cornbread," and mom in law got wings, mac and cheese and greens. Latter not pictured here but they enjoyed overall. Mentioned greens had too many stems in them and chicken could have been seasoned more. My entree was perfectly seasoned! If in the area stop by for efficient and friendly service!
Grace Meat + Three was probably one of the best spots I've ever had! It's super close to SLU, and I got the Grace Burger, which was really tasty, but I think I preferred the fried chicken sandwich. It was so crispy, probably one of the best chicken sandwiches I've had in a while! We had sides of cornbread and mac and cheese, and the mac and cheese was divine: perfect flavor, pasta, and breadcrumbs. The interior is super family-friendly, lots of kids and families when I went, and the staff was so sweet. Parking can be a bit tricky, but it's absolutely worth it!
The foodie in me did a considerable amount of research prior to my trip to the St. Louis area. Grace Meat + Three was high on my list of places to visit. My daughter and I arrived, stood at the counter, and waited to be seated, but this is an "order at the counter and take your number to the table" type of establishment, which seems to be a popular business model in the area. We stepped out of line to decide on what to order. I settled on the Catfish Meal Deal (hot) and a side of Fried Brussels Sprouts. There was a sauce station with an array of options. I'm a saucy lady, so I helped myself to the Dilly Tartar Sauce, Tasty Ranch and Comeback Sauce. There was also Sweet Whiskey BBQ and Alabama White Sauce. The sauce bottles were labeled with dates that gave us a bit of pause, but the bottles were cold, so we proceeded. The dining area had Southern-charm, and the other guests all appeared to be enjoying themselves. The staff were all very kind and helpful and we enjoyed our meals so much that we both placed to-go orders to enjoy at our hotel room later that evening. My daughter ordered wings to-go and I ordered the Grace Burger. Unfortunately, while eating my burger later that night with a knife and fork, I found a long strand of hair embedded in the burger patty, which caused me to discard it after those few unfortunate bites. Were it not for this, I would've given them 5 stars.
This atmosphere is somewhat southern charm mixed with chic. Touches of southern accents sit in the windows and on the walls. It's very homey and fresh! However, The main star of the show. The Chicken. I got the chicken sandwich and I'm telling you I cannot wait to go try just the fried chicken next. Crispy. Seasoned. Bursting with flavor! I got original and not spicy cause I'm a wimp but the sauces you can get on the sandwich. The comeback sauce for the fr and the hot and honey for the chicken. You can't change my mind. The fries were crispy and salty and seasoned to literal perfection. We also tried their bologna sandwich which is featured on the Netflix show 'Fresh, Fried, and Crispy' so we had to get it. My boyfriend loved it so much he mentions it all the time. Fried pickles were fantastic and I cant wait to try the rest of their menu!
Reunited and it feels so good! I met up with some friends for an early brunch on Sunday and was craving some southern food. I've only been to Grace once and that was four years ago. As a matter of fact, the last time I was there, they had a somewhat limited menu. This time, I went with the shrimp meal which comes with 1 side ( I chose cornbread) and got an addtl side of Brussel sprouts. For a party of four, our food came relatively quick. The first bite of shrimp was interesting as I tasted majority batter and very little shrimp. While flavorful, it was a tad underwhelming. While the shrimp may have been a letdown, the cornbread and Brussel sprouts were anything but. The cornbread was moist and resembled a slick of cake due to its thickness and consistency. The sprouts had the perfect combination of char, balsamic, Parmesan, and spices. Overall, I was more than pleased with the service and food. I can't wait to come back.
Would have rated a 5 if it weren't for the service. The girl was very rude and was LITERALLY texting in between taking our order. There were five of us, after each one she would stop and text. While we were sitting down, two guys came in that hadn't been there before. She didn't look up or greet them, they just stood there and she was texting. We were one of the only people in there. Food was great as always!! I wish they had a "mild" spice. It goes from no spice, to hot, to extra hot. I like spicy and the hot was so spicy I could barely eat it. Quiet inside and plenty of seating for everyone.
I absolutely love grace meat! We've been going for years now and I have probably tried it all. The kitchen sink salad is unreal. The deviled egg in the salad, the onions, the cornbread crumbs takes it up a notch. I love the fries and chicken sandos as well. Super fresh and juicy chicken. The service is always wonderful. We love sitting at the bar for the experience. 10/10 place!
Casual dining in a restaurant setting. You order at the front and the deliver your food. Good service. I felt the food was ok. The Hominy Lager was tasty. The cornbread tasted a little too dense. The bologna sandwich which this place is known for was basically a thick cut of ham with egg. I think I was expecting my taste buds to have Oscar Meyer old school tastes.
Plenty of seating, nice and clean. Street parking available. The food was okay. I had catfish and fries. The fried brussel sprouts were a disappointment. Just brussel sprouts with balsamic vinaigrette, not fried or roasted. I tried to order a regular margarita, but they didn't have it just an elderberry margarita. What?! The best thing was the music playing.
Most of our food was good. The chicken tenders were good as was the buttermilk sauce. The appetizers were good but the deviled eggs were a smidge too Dijon-y. The fried green tomatoes were perfect and delicious. My husband's chicken sandwich however was sad and dry and too crunchy. The succotash was too salty. The mac and cheese needed more flavor but it could have been the salt from the succotash taking away from it. Overall a nice place and fast and hot. read more
I've loved Grace Meat + 3 for years. They have an excellent brunch and dinner menu and delicious options for takeout during the holidays. On this specific visit, my friends and I met up for a late lunch on a Saturday. It was steadily busy but they manage the crowds well. You order at the counter and they bring your food and drinks out to your table. I almost always order the quarter chicken (dark and hot) with a couple of sides. Their mashed potatoes and greens are staples and wonderful. The food always comes out quickly and the staff are super friendly and helpful for whatever you might need. They have a great bar menu too. On this occasion I enjoyed the Oaxacan Negroni. If you over order (as I always do for leftovers) they have to go containers ready for you next to the soda machine. We went to Grace Meat + Three for a Sunday brunch and we enjoyed it! My friend ordered the Chicken and Waffles and I ordered the Everything But The Kitchen Sink with a side of crinkled fries. Our chicken was very tender and had great flavor. I'm giving it four stars because of the atmosphere - the line was too slow due to them having one person at a register with an ordering system that takes too long. It's also a beautiful space but there is something about it that feels a little off - it's too casual for a nice brunch but while also trying to market it as a "fancy" southern restaurant. I also find it odd to be called Meat + Three and not have that as an option on the menu. read more

First time here and won't be the last. Very clean inside and the cashier upfront was so friendly! For appetizers we ordered the fried green tomatoes and deviled eggs. For entrees I ordered the catfish, my husband got the chicken and waffles, my kiddos got the chicken tenders. So so good. My husband got the spiciest seasoning on his chicken and although it was good, wasn't really that spicy. I didn't order any cocktails this time but the list sounded so yummy. read more

My wife and I absolutely love Grace Meat + 3. The staff is always amazingly friendly, which creates such a great vibe. We want to try everything on the menu but can't get past the Catfish Nuggets. I am also one of the people that added this place to their list after seeing it on a Netflix show! Food: Let me tell you, the chicken was indeed pretty amazing. Fresh, seasoned well, nicely sized, and juicy! I got my sandwich spicy, but honestly it could have passed for an original flavor. I loved that their bun was not huge and overwhelming, just perfectly sized. Now, the Mac & Cheese was a miss. It was more of an creamy noodle with crumbs. I would just suggest fries! Environment : Once you get in there you order then get to pick out where you want to sit. The service was quick and super efficient. The only complaint is there was no guest Wi-Fi password that I saw, but they had a guest Wi-Fi service. I want to go back and get the famous fried chicken! read more

I cannot wait to return! We arrived about 2hr before closing. Kitchen was slammed but they were able to push the food out. Catfish was fried to perfection, swapped out the succotash for greens- perfect pair! Deviled eggs were a bit odd tasting. Too much mayonnaise maybe. read more

We had a group of 13 for dinner and felt like we were at home as we ate. The chicken tenders and fried chicken is better than the famous Nashville chicken (I was just in Nashville, and this is much, much better). Chef Lewis has studied and perfected food service and makes even picky eaters clean their plates. The groups favorites this times were the Chicken Tenders, Fried Chicken, Greens, Fried Green Tomatoes, and Nothing But The Kitchen Sink Salad. No one had any leftovers because it was so good we had to finish it there. The staff was amazing even helping us seat all 13 people together. There was constant walk-up business at the window and the staff handled all of the patrons with ease. I will be back soon. read more

I'm know it's hard to mess up fried food but this was some of the best fried food ever. Just as a warning though the fried green tomatoes tasted like they had been picked. I will admit this was only my second experience with fried green tomatoes. The cashier taking our order said his favorite thing on the menu was the burger. I look forward to trying it next but then again that was some perfectly fries catfish. read more

Still a 5! Last review back in 2018 and today, last meal of 202, still impressed. I visit often and have not ever had an unpleasant experience. Today's meal, finale for 2021, Grace Burger, as it comes, Fries, Grace Old Fashioned, Side of Pimento Queso and side of Buttermilk Lime dressing. The queso and dressing are for the fries, of course. Burger was phenomenal! Juicy and perfectly cooked. Toasted bun held it all together nicely and great flavor on the meat. Appropriate amount of Pickles and Onions with Comeback sauce to compliment meat. Fries perfectly cooked and the drink had the correct amount of alcohol (wink). Having not been sure how to end 2021, but having a taste for a great burger, so pleased I chose Grace! read more
Everything was delicious. The chicken was tender and juicy and the sides were exactly what I'm expecting from a southern restaurant. The service was fast so it's a perfect spot for lunch or if you just want a quick bite to eat. The restaurant itself is very spacious and if you're in the grove it's definitely a place to check out! read more
I had the full bird, cornbread, mac&cheese, and cole slaw. Honestly, their fried chicken is where it at. I got the honey, hot fried chicken, and the hot honey dipping sauce. The cornbread was so moist and sweet, just the way I like it. The mac & cheese and the cole slaw was really good as well. read more
My wife and I went out for a much needed date night. She got the hot chicken strips and the collard greens. Chicken was delicious of course. The greens were soggy though, so she didn't finish them. I got the fried bologna sandwich with gumbo and the seasonal squash. Gumbo wasn't as spicy as I would have expected, but the squash was wonderful. Sandwich was great! Wasn't sure about the mustard, but it was a perfect addition and helped balance it out. We split the fried green tomatoes and had a couple of beers. Only bad thing, aside from soggy greens was getting my back caught on the edge is a metal box hanging on the wall and cutting myself. I think I may have also almost ripped it off the wall. So, go and enjoy the food, but watch the decor and try to be more careful than me! read more

Decided to come here for lunch one day and I was throughly pleased. Located in The Grove, so parking options really aren't the best. Ended up parking in the paid lot across the street. Walked in to a nice young lady at the register, patiently waiting to take our order. I decided on the wings and Mac and cheese and ordered some wine (drink options available). The chicken was golden and crispy. I opted for the "hot" option so there was some extra seasoning sprinkled on top. The Mac and cheese was more creamy than cheesy, but that isn't a deal breaker because it was actually delicious. By the soda machine is where the bottles of the different sauce types were located. I was able to try a nice amount of them. The ranch was really good and you can tell that it is home made. Overall good experience. Good food. Clean establishment. Good service. read more

Great tasting Southern food in the heart of the Grove neighborhood! The service is fast and efficient, you place your order, and someone will bring the food to your table. There is a mix between fast food and casual dining ambiance. You get your food quickly, but there isn't a feeling of being rushed so that you can enjoy your meal. read more
Very, very underwhelmed with the food here. we visit it on a Wednesday evening after a zoo trip. We weren't greeted when we arrived so I just walked up and asked is this where we order. Asked the hostess/cashier how was the kitchen sink salad, and her response was "I have no idea." It's ok if you're new... But that should never be your answer when a patron is inquiring about a dish. But OK. I ask the gentleman next to her (as if he didn't hear me just ask her) and he said it was "good." Okay whatever. I end up ordering the Kitchen Sink Salad, my husband got brussel slaw, burger and 4 whole wings for our daughters. My salads presentation was nice but it lacked flavor, entirely. The dressing was flavorless, the grilled chicken was over cooked and had no flavor and the poppy seed accents were just too much for me... The lettuce leaves were huge but it's cool, I just chopped them up. I did like the deviled egg inside the salad. We sent the brussel slaw back; it tasted like plain brussel sprouts with vinegar. No flavor, nothing special at all. I'm a huge brussel sprouts salad fan so I was super disappointed. We switched it out for fries that were cold. Seasoned well tho. With salt! The girls chicken wings were fried very nicely but had no flavor! I'm lying, they had a flavor, but it was not a flavor that I was expecting. Like a weird herb flavor that they tried to "wow" you with but it left me annoyed. No salt... My husband's burger was good, nothing to write home about. It legit reminded me of a steak n shake burger. Oh and The ppl who brought out or replacement items were nice. We came today, Sunday July 14th, 2024. Dinner time 5:30pm, was not crowded at all. Employee took time to explain menu, offer his preferences too. Order a variety so that we could be fair. Food was not hot. Had to ask for hot fries and by the time we got them chicken was cold since it was like warm to begin with! Catfish was hot, shrimp was hot as well. Seasoned well. Collards and cornbread I enjoyed. Rum lemonade was strong but since service was lacking I was glad to drink it! Ranch sauce and hot honey sauce we good as well. I try to be fair and give accolades where they were warranted. We live 38 mins away so don't think it will be worth another trip, Good Luck read more
I'm in town helping my daughter move here from SoCA- to start SLU Law. Hungry for a lighter dinner on a Sunday, we found this neighborhood gem. We opted to start with the deviled eggs. While billed with spicy aioli, it was flavorful vs. hot. Definitely a must do for connoisseurs of all things deviled egg. We split the fried chicken sandwich and 1/4 fried chicken. Holy moly! Tons of flavor, crispy and light. Try the comeback sauce. Great! Great! Great! The sandwich, one piece of chicken side of Mac n'cheese and the one piece of Texas toast each was enough for a meal. Fresh brioche bun and Texas toast. Mac n'cheese was creamy and delicious! Pickles were the cherry on top. The fries looked good but we didn't try them. You might want to. Outdoor seating on wooden picnic tables, but plenty of in door seating, too. Masks required at time of post. Will I comeback? Heck yeah...! read more

I have been here twice now and greatly enjoyed my experience both times. The chicken is fantastic! For appetizers I have tried the fried pickles and would recommend the hot chicken dip if you have multiple people in your party. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I like that you can get your own sauces and your own to-go boxes if needed. They also serve Excel soda which is a plus for me! Beautiful place with amazing food!! read more

A friend and I had lunch at Grace Meat + Three yesterday. They were taking every precaution to ensure customers and staff were covid safe. It's was our first time dining here and we were excited to try them out. The young man that greeted was super friendly and explained the daily specials along with our individualized menu questions. I ordered the meal deal spicy chicken special and my friend had the fried green tomatoes with chicken gizzards. Of course I sampled the tomatoes and gizzards. I had never had gizzards and I must say for a first timer they were delicious. The manager and the cashier checked on us to ensure all was going well with our meal which was a nice touch. The restaurant was clean with spacious seating options. I will definitely be returning!! read more

Came around 130 PM on a Saturday and snagged a nice two person table by the window. Super spacious and friendly service. Order at the counter and then seat yourself wherever you fancy. Lots of options for different size groups. Chicken was flavorful and lightly breaded. Sauces plentiful and seasoned. Left me asking for more (but also had leftovers). The man loved his wings and lord knows he knows his wings. Highly recommend the lime buttermilk sauce and the fresh French fries!!! This was our first time. Honestly I'm really upset. We spend $60. My husband got Catfish nuggets. There was like 10 tiny little pieces. He said it was very salty. Along with my mother and law got the catfish 3 piece. It was also very salty. The fries were terrible. The Mac and cheese was just bland noodles and zero cheese. The burger was gross and I have had plenty of burgers it is hard to mess up a burger. It was loud and overall the people weren't very friendly. Other customers were saying stuff about my son and overall a bad vibe here. To top it off we had to no ice for our drinks. The sweet tea was out took 20mins to get some. A bit of a wait, but we'll worth it. Half bird, regular spice, was well fried, but the dredge was a lot lighter than I expected. Fried chicken is great in general and this is no exception. More of a sauce it up bird though with its thin, hot wing-like crunch. Brine was heavy on celery. Greens were expertly seasoned and mashed potatoes were buttered in way that's fit for a king; think Joel Robuchon but make it home style. Gravy was super thick and a little sweet for my liking. Cornbread was interesting. On the sweet, dense, cakey end, and sugar lends to the deeply caramelized crust. Maybe due to shortages but sadly served with margarine. The vegetarian BBQ sandwich was easy to mistake for pork. The mushroom, pea protein base made for a meaty umami and texture that paired well with the smoky sauce. Iced tea was on point. What can I say, it was hands down the best fried chicken I have ever had (don't tell my mom)! I had the 4 whole wings and a fries. I don't like spicy foods but the person at the counter convinced me it wasn't very spicy, and I would have to agree. We also tried the lemonade punch and it fabulous as well not too sweet not too boozy. I can't believe I waited so long to stop in and try their number 1 dish! Definitely a must try! read more

Found this place after visiting the Science Center nearby. Eclectic neighborhood location with street parking. I tried the 3 pieces of catfish with a side of collard greens and cornbread. They offer spice levels for their breading items, and I opted for "hot." The catfish was excellent. It is served with a pickled tomato relish and slivers of fresh white onion. A new item to me but paired very well with the heat of the catfish. Instinctively, I grabbed hot sauce but didn't use it at all. The cornbread was very sweet, similar to a very dense cake but good. The only ding for me was the number of stems in the collards, but the flavor was good. Next visit back to STL, I'd definitely come again. read more
