Brunch at Lucy Quinn was a whole vibe -- and the fact that it's Black-owned and built with legacy and love made it even more special Chef Ben Welch created this space to honor his grandmother, Lucy -- and you feel her presence in every detail: from the portraits on the walls to the "LL" stamped in the ice cubes. It's soulful. It's intentional. And it's giving generational excellence. I went full Gemini birthday mode and tried nearly everything on the brunch menu Here's what stood out: Smash burger - top-tier, get it. Candied bacon - elite. Buttermilk biscuit with pimento cheese - flavor on point. Deviled eggs - can do no wrong. While not every dish blew me away, there were definitely moments of brilliance -- and with a menu this creative, I'm excited to come back and try more. The drinks? Impeccable. Beautiful, bold, and strong. The service? Warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Food: 3.85/5 Drinks: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Also, fun fact: both Chef Ben and his grandmother Lucy were Geminis -- so it felt meant to be to brunch here during peak Gemini szn Can't wait to return and experience Little Lucy, the late-night lounge next door.

Our favorite bartender suggested we had to try the food at Lucy Quinn since we eat at Little Lucy so much. We stopped in before a little before closing and the hostess acted like we needed a reservation for an empty restaurant which was a deterrent. So we asked about the bar, once we were informed that the drinks at Lucy Quinn and Little Lucy are the exactly the same, we left and went next door. On our second time back we sat at the bar with our favorite bartender and went over menu options and recommendations. We knew we wanted the try the fried catfish and romaine caesar salad for sure. We sat next to a fellow foodie enthusiast and he was going thru the menu ordering some of everything: the crispy pork belly, Benne seed-duck fat milk bread and roasted cabbage. We asked him about his food selection and the taste points of each dish. Everything he ordered looked soooo good but he was saying it was just OKKKKaaaay. So we narrowed down our selection to go with our originals to keep it simple. The romaine ceasar was extremely fishy and just off but we opted to keep it and the fried catfish which is served with spaghetti puttanesca was a train wreck on a plate. While very aesthetically appealing to look at the taste was anything but. The best I can describe it as was a foul off-putting flavor, like...what is this?????? So much in fact that we had to send it back it was trully that inedible. The spaghetti was so underwhelming and bland and the catfish had some sort of funny batter on it that was gross along with the catfish being undercooked. And the price point of $25 for this entree and portion size with flavors that do not even compliment the dish is a travesty. What were other patrons being served that we missed. Where they experimenting in the kitchen with a new recipe. We were soo highly disappointed in our food experience the only saving grace was our bartender and the cocktails. We had such HIGH hopes and expectations for the food on this side of the wall and for it all to fall short was disappointing.

Wait staff was amazing & very informative. Helped with someone in our party w major food allergies- said yes no we can make substitutions etc. the cocktails are on point. The food is good. Soul creole southern. We ordered wings, caesar salad, burger, pork belly, pastrami, bread, gumbo. The Caesar was my favorite. Take or leave the bread. Wings were crispy & smoky. Pastrami was smoky- not my favorite but everyone else seemed to really like it. Definitely worth a visit. Being a nee restaurant they are still working on menu items & this place will probably improve even more over time.

Wow! Lucy Quinn is exactly what The Grove needed! From the moment you walk in, you can feel the love poured into this place. Chef Ben Welch has created something special here and a true tribute to Southern hospitality with a modern, creative twist. Vibes: Cozy, stylish, and full of personality. It's warm and welcoming but still has a little edge. Think Southern charm meets trendy St. Louis dining. Perfect for a fun night out with friends, a date, or honestly, just treating yourself. Food: Everything we tried was chef's kiss. Highlights: The Wings - These smoked wings are next-level. Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and packed with smoky, savory goodness. The Burger - Wow. Just wow. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of rich, flavor. Topped with melty cheese and the kind of sauce that makes you want to lick your fingers. Easily one of the best burgers I've had in STL. The Gumbo - Deep, rich, and layered with flavor. Final Verdict: Run, don't walk. Lucy Quinn is the kind of place you'll want to come back to again and again. Amazing food, good drinks, and welcoming environment. Already planning my next visit.

Large, roomy casual dining in Tower Grove area. Upscale brunch offerings from the usual breakfast/ brunch choices. Service could have been more attentive. Had to get up to find a server. Food was delicious!

The food was amaaaazing! Everything I tasted, including other people's (Potato Wedges, Smoked Catfish Hash Browns, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Candied Bacon...) was just wonderful! The ambiance as nice, though as the place filled up, it got a tad loud. Why only the 4 star then? The service! Our waitress seemed very helpful at the beginning, but then just called it in. We were a table of 8 and she was going to get her 20% tip no matter what. At one point, one of the people had to get up and wander around with 2 coffee cups trying to get them refilled. SUCH a shame!

Had a great first visit to Lucy Quinn, a beautifully designed spot named after the owner's grandmother. The food leans toward upscale Southern--creative, a bit pricey, sort of Tapas style, even if it's not labeled that way. We tried pretty much the entire menu. I enjoyed my brisket and the potato wedges were really good. The cocktail menu offers a nice variety, and overall it was a solid first experience. Service was on the slower side but still attentive. I'm curious to come back and try Little Lucy, their connected diner-style concept next door. The interior art is also a standout--it adds a lot to the atmosphere.

We loved everyone we ordered. I had the 1/2 chicken and was pleasantly surprised that it was smoked. Husband had brisket and the meat practically fall off his fork tender. It is sad to know the restaurant will be closed soon as the food is definitely delicious.

Double smash burger and potato wedges

Excellent food the double snashburger was very tasty and at 14 dollars very affordable. The potato wedges were quite good and seasoned well with a Cajun seasoning. The German chocolate cake at 12 dollars was one of the best I have ever had in st louis. The service is top shelf and the decor is quite pleasant. This new little restaurant is perfect for a romantic evening or any occasion.

This was the first time trying them out and our experience was amazing. Our server Nicki was really nice and funny. Made the experience even better. The art and aesthetic was really cute as well. The chef/owner stopped by the table and we had a chance to give him praise. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food. I had the smoked brisket and eggs and candied bacon. Both items were really good and filling. Certain parts of the bacon were maybe a little too crispy to chew, but overall the flavor of it was nice. I'd come back here again.

Lucy Quinn has become a new favorite spot! I will certainly be visiting again and again. I went to catch up with a friend over a meal and the service, food, decor, and ambiance made my visit a really good one. I ordered the catfish hashbrown, potato wedges, and crab beignets. Everything was tasty and I didn't eat it all during my visit. The food reheats well too! 10/10 recommend! You've gotta try it for yourself!

This just might be my favorite place I've visited in the last year! Food and drinks were amazing. The service really sold the place though. While deciding which drink would be best, our server and another employee who I'm assuming was the bartender came to our table and answered all of our questions. Even going as far as to giving great examples. I definitely was happy with my choice and danced in my seat throughout the entire meal. The establishment was beautiful, fun and welcoming. I can't wait to go back! Ask for Destini to be your server and I can promise you, your experience will be just as awesome. I can't wait to try their other place, Little Lucy!

LQ Wings & wedges
Quinn H.

Music, decor & service were great. Had the wings and they were fantastic--smoky, crispy, with a light honey mustard-style sauce. The wedges had a bit too much seasoning for me, but would be great for sharing or if you love bold flavors. The milk bread (not pictured) was unique and yummy starter had a savory and sweet option for the spread. Also loved that the cocktail ice was from Good Company--nice local touch! Definitely coming back for the wings and to try a dessert.

If you're here, grab dat hurricane too. I could sip on that all day, especially in the summer.

Pappy's sure made me happy during my recent first visit to St. Louis!…read more After researching all the best bbq restaurants in the city I settled on Pappy's for my first foray into the St. Louis bbq scene. There was a bit of a line when I first arrived - but coming from Texas it was nothing compared to some of the bbq lines i've waited in (plus you got to be in the AC) and the line did move pretty quickly. I went with a 2-meat plate and enjoyed the ribs (dry rub), burnt ends, and sides of fried corn on the cob, sweet potato fries, and the ice and fire pickles....absolutely everything that went into my mouth was better than the last bite. The ribs were falling off the bone, the burnt ends tender and smoky (and when paired with THOSE PICKLES YALL). Highly recommend this combo of treats! The serving sizes were generous and as it was I ended up being able to only eat about half my plate but the ribs made for a great midnight snack later! (the fries not so much but that's to be expected) The food, service, and ambiance were all amazing! Definitely worth the hype and a visit whether you're a local or tourist alike (you could tell both crowds were there).

The owners are very approachable and could immediately recognize us as Filipinos when we were sitting and eating there. The restaurant reminds me of a "fancier" Filipino style like you see in big tourist spots in Boracay. I do admit, the wait is a bit long as we were waiting for almost 30 minutes for our food to arrive. However, I feel like the complaints about it from other reviews are ridiculous since this place isn't considered fast food, but cooked with love. I mean- when I was living in The Philippines, everyone has patience of a saint, especially when it comes to food so I do not see the wait time as an issue. It's not served immediately like karinderya style. I ordered the Filipino-style chicken BBQ and I'd like to say that it's so delicious and flavorful. However, it doesn't remind me of home. I do want to point out to definitely ask for tuyo kalamansi with chili for the dip if you're not a fan of vinegar. I was told it was homemade by the owner and it did not disappoint. The pork BBQ that my father ordered was a bit too hard for his liking, as Filipino meat tends to be on the softer side. The ube banana pudding is also yummy, however, it is way too sweet for our liking. I'd like to point out that Java rice is so good that I think that it isn't enough for a Filipino like me and I personally don't want to pay for another cup of Java rice. There were more sides than rice tbh. I was also a bit bummed that halo-halo isn't in the menu at all, With that being said, I feel like the food and desserts here are mostly catering the American palette, but it would be good for people who has never tried Filipino food.
