The food is truly delicious, but be extremely specific when placing an online order. The owner does not accommodate mistakes, even when the error is on their end. One of my items was prepared incorrectly, and instead of remaking the sandwich, the owner grilled the missing vegetables and handed them to me, telling me to add them myself. I explained multiple times that I did not want a "refurbished" sandwich -- I simply wanted it remade. He refused and insisted on giving me a refund instead of correcting the order. Thankfully, his daughter stepped in with kindness and offered to remake my sandwich, which I appreciated. To keep customers satisfied, it's important not to become upset when a mistake is made. A simple remake would have resolved the issue. I will patronize them again, but I will never order online again. read more

I love breaded shrimp and chicken. Every Lent I make sure to stop in at Vails Brothers in Tower Grove. It is a small location, and I'd recommend ordering take out to go if you are in a rush. The wait time is ~15 minutes if you order which still isn't bad at all. There are a couple tables inside, but I've always just walked back to my office to eat. The portions are huge, so don't over order. I've only ever ordered the shrimp, but I've also heard good things about their chicken. read more

I had this restaurant saved to try for awhile and I'm glad I finally did. My default meal is chicken tenders; their lemon pepper ones are delicious! I got wings (hot lemon pepper) and shrimp, she got chicken fingers and we shared some mac & cheese. The food was BOMB. Even my picky eater raved about it. The wings and shrimp were perfectly battered and crisp. The sauce on the wings was just the right mix of flavors too - I feel like a lot of lemon pepper hot sauces go heavy on the buffalo and light on the lemon pepper, so you lose that flavor completely. Vail gets it right, with the perfect mix of spice and citrus. The fries were unseasoned, which left them open to customizing with salt and pepper, and the mac and cheese was nice too (it's a roux-based sauce, not a baked mac). Little did I know I would regret it...fries were burnt and cold...I guess they thought we were taking our food to go and wouldn't notice until we were long gone, but we sat in and had to request a new order of fries. The girl at the register was eating golden brown fries but they gave us burnt cold fries. Lemon pepper wings didn't have lemon or pepper and the cake we ordered was dry and stale. They don't want returning customers serving food like this.
