Still one of our go-to spots! Early on a Saturday night we were able to get in without a wait. We got a roomy high-top table, love it! Host was super friendly, got us seated and let us know Charlotte would be our server. She is great, we have had her before and she is friendly and efficient! New menu has some new options and a lot of returning favorites. We ordered our usual loaded fries as an appetizer. I got the 1/2 smoked chicken with mac and cheese (still the only place I will order mac and cheese!) As the evening progressed the place filled up so glad we go there early. Appetizer and entrees were great, as usual. Charlotte was great! Host was great, nothing but great things to say!
Great, friendly service. This place is delicious. We got food to go. The smoked turkey was my favorite. My second favorite thing was the coleslaw (really good, not super sweet, nice and balanced flavor). The meatloaf was tasty especially because of the root beer glaze. The Brussels sprouts were good. The burnt ends were ok--needed to be more "burnt", and the fat wasn't quite rendered. That was the only thing I wish we had gotten something different. I'd definitely come back here! My husband loved the assortment of sauces.
Great bbq for a decent price! Went for the duck but would go back for the rib tips and Mac'n'cheese! It was fun to do a round of tasting of their 6 sauces, arranged from most sweet to most spicy. I would definitely recommend the cherry smoke one, sweetness and spiciness were at a perfect balance for me on that one. The pulled pork and tri tip we had were a little underwhelming...not super flavourful But their cornbread we saw on the next table as we left looked insanely good and would definitely want to try that next time!
I cannot recommend The Shaved Duck enough and cannot believe this is my first time visiting! The restaurant is such a neat spot with some of the most kind and genuine people working there. The food was downright delicious. In a city that BBQ is always talked about, this should be discussed right along with the rest! In my opinion, it's the best pulled pork I've had. It was so flavorful but not greasy at all. We both agreed that meatloaf with the sauce was the winner in everything tried but the taste and quality of everything was great! I also loved the Brussel sprout side and would definitely get those again! Overall, great experience and cannot wait to bring friends back here!
Friendly service and delicious eats! Everything we had was super yummy and I would order each item again. The cornbread was dense and not too sweet which made the honey butter combo just right. Can't go wrong with burnt ends - very flavorful with the sauce. The duck chili was a little unexpected since it was on the brothier side but I was a big of it. Meat plate made for a great way to sample multiple options! If I had to narrow it down to two, I would probably go with the pulled chicken and meatloaf (and I am not a meatloaf lover!). Seasoning was on point and def try the meatloaf with the sauce. The tri-tip was also a good option, the seasoning was great! We didn't even add any of the plethora of bbq sauces to the meat because the flavors were chef's kiss as-is. Believe it or not, we saved room for dessert and opted for the gooey butter brownie which layers gooey butter cake on top of a brownie and is topped with ice cream. Mouthwateringly good! The brownie was melty and parts of the gooey butter cake caramelized and it came out hot with a generous serving of ice cream. We will definitely be returning!
Wait here the other night and I can't stand enough great things about it. First off my partner is gluten-free and call ahead of time to ask questions. The bartender who answered was extremely knowledgeable when he was very impressed. When we arrived, it was very cozy and acquainted in our server was awesome. We shared the wings, duck, jalapeño creamed corn, and burnt ends. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious!
Shaved Duck!! It is awesome to see you all back. The renovated space is so much more inviting without the wall. The room is open, seems larger and able to breathe. I used to visit often and it was humbling you all remembered me even after 8 years since I had moved away for a while. Visiting Shaved Duck is a lot like seeing an old friend. Staff always welcoming. The food hasn't changed a single bit. Still as flavorful as I remember and new sauces to explore. The smothered fries are a favorite every time because you will dream about that cheese sauce. I tried the smoked wings, they were crispy with just the right amount of smoke. I went through all the sauces and Black Isle is still top for me. I also liked the modification of the mango habanero. It was much more mango forward this time and had a nice kick. The Bournon and KC were also very well balanced and the Cherry Chili. I was very happy to meet James today and look forward to hearing about your next venture with expanding Shaved Duck elsewhere and reminding those STL knows its BBQ!! Great vibe inside - but with this great October weather they were still offering outdoor seating as well. Started with the duck confit and the maple/brown sugar bacon. Very good sized servings for a reasonable price. Bacon was a little sweet...but what did we expect for something coated in brown sugar. We shared a two meat plate with the sausage and pulled pork which came with a massive side of fries. Too much food for two people!!! But the best part was the flight of BBQ sauces. Nice variety from sweet to heat. Hope to return some day

Updating my review since they have their liquor license. It's a small, but good liquor selection. The beer and wine list is full of options. The food is amazing. You can taste the smoke in the meatloaf. It's one of my favorite dishes. We'll be back.
Great experience all around! They have street parking and you're served at the table. We had about a 10-15 min wait before we were seated. They have a smaller dining room and a couple of outdoor seating spots (it was way too hot to sit outside), but we didn't mind the wait! Sometimes they have live music playing, usually around dinner. We came for lunch :) We started off with the smoked crispy wings and oh my gosh, we were blown away. They are sooo good. I also would recommend a side of the buffalo sauce, it's a unique buffalo sauce and super good. Plenty of BBQ sauces on the table as well, I loved the Black Isle and Mango Habanero (not too spicy). My 2 friends and I shared a combination plate with 3 meats (pulled chicken, pulled pork, and burnt ends). All of the meats were amazing! The pulled chicken was very moist and had a great seasoning flavor, the pulled pork was fresh and didn't taste greasy, and the burnt ends had this delicious bbq sauce on it! We also tried a bunch of sides! The Brussels sprouts and jalapeño creamed corn were my favorites. Such great flavor. We also tried the mac and cheese and caramelized mashed potatoes.

Another great BBQ place in the city. The interior is very tiny, and they were packed during dinnertime on a Saturday, so our group ended up outside, which wasn't an issue on a beautiful day. Every dish we tried was great. I really liked my Pulled Pork "Sand"- lots of meat on a nicely toasted bun. The sides may have been the star of the show. Loved their Mac n' Cheese (kinda tasted like Bread Co's but elevated), and the bite I had of my bf's Caramelized Onion Mashed Potatoes was delicious. Service was quicker than we expected after seeing how busy they were- even if it took awhile to get our check. read more
Interesting menu, delicious and unique flavors. We stopped in for lunch and Saturday and found just a few other patrons there. The server was friendly and efficient, the food was outstanding. I had a house salad and smoked wings, my friend opted for mashed potatoes and candied bacon. Every dish was fantastic. The smoked wings were crispy and flavorful, the balsamic dressing with the house salad was perfectly balanced. My friend loved the apple slices with the bacon and the mashed potatoes were on point. The smothered fries!! Best cheese sauce we've ever had! Ordered the duck breast because Guy Fieri raved about it. The cherry sauce made the dish. The Brussels were crispy and yummy. But, back to the fries. We'll go back just for those. Service was great. It's pretty small so expect a wait on the weekends. read more
Came into town for work and my coworker raved about this place. I took a quick drive directly from the airport. I turned down a side street and immediately thought I was lost however this corner establishment is in a neighborhood that looks a little sketchy at night but overall was no problems. I walked in and had a seat at the bar. My waitress was really nice. She's the new Bar Manager. She recommended the 3 meat combo with a side of mac and cheese. I told her how my coworker raved about the Burnt Ends so I got a side of that as well. The food came out a short while later. The burnt ends were great! Nice and tender. I also enjoyed the sauce. The Tri-Tips were MONEY!!! They were my favorite part of the meal. The meatloaf was lukewarm. I could easily do without. The pulled pork was solid. Mac & Cheese I could also do without. I went with a party of three when it was super busy. We hung out at the bar and had a drink until our table was ready. The bartender and the server were great, very charming and thoughtful. Food was awesome, my party got a bunch of apps and then we split some ribs. They were a little dry but the flavor was there. Will be going back again the next time I'm in St. Louis! read more

This cute little bbq joint and bar did not disappoint! Went with my office while we were in town and everyone loved their meals! Started off with their cornbread, which was buttery and could easily feed 5 as an appetizer. I got the combination plate with chicken and tri-tips, both amazingly seasoned and packed with flavor! Their five sauces were all good accompaniments, with the mango habanero being a fan favorite. The star of the show for me had to be the brussel sprouts, salty and smoky but still a good palette cleanser! Overall a great meal while being reasonably priced, took home half my meal as leftovers after eating my fill. Service was good and we'll definitely come back again! read more

I'd been wanting to try this place for a while now and finally got around to going. For BBQ we love brisket and if you love brisket too- come check it out. We got the brisket sandwich and burnt ends sandwich (pictured). My partner gave their burnt ends sandwich a 4.5. I quote " It was good. I would've preferred a different sauce. But it was really good overall." I say overall the food was good and no complaints regarding the service! read more
Been thinking about eating here our last few trips to St Louis. FINALLY! The restaurant itself is in an Old Brick Two Story Building. It used to be HILDEBRANDS BIG 4 MARKET. The new owners took over, I believe, in November of 2023. You'd never know it has been flooded with the roof collapsed. Hospitality was FANTASTIC! The food was so FULL OF FLAVOR and the portions enormous. The DUCK CONFIT was so tasty and my 9 year old daughter couldn't get enough. She had the PULLED PORK SANDWICH and loved it. My wife had the DUROC, a breed of pig, RIBS.. Juicy and meaty. I had the PULLED CHICKEN SANDWICH and JALAPENO CREAMED CORN. Both were delicious. I tried all of the BBQ SAUCES but my favorite was the MANGO HABENERO. Someone knew exactly what they were doing...Tremendous Flavor with just the Right Amount of Heat. Holy cow, or should I say pig! We love the pulled pork from here - seriously, some of the absolute best I have ever had (and I have had a lot of pulled pork from a lot of delicious places). Further, the sides are great! To make the experience of dining or taking out from here even sweeter: the staff are AWESOME. They are so helpful and nice. Finally, we were pleasantly surprised by the cute interior and that there was live music on a night we were here recently. Shaved duck is easily by favorite bbq restaurant. The burnt ends and cornbread are a great way to start! I know this won't be for everyone but I LOVE their veggie sandwich. It may seem an odd choice for a bbq restaurant but is so tasty! It's big and I always have half for the next day. Normally we do not have room for dessert. I did go and order just dessert and man oh man! This is the cherry cobbler! Definitely big enough for everyone to share but so good you won't want to read more

A great Triple D restaurant that lives up to the hype. BBQ has great flavor. Moist and just delicious. The poutine was very good, whatever cheese sauce they use for a variety of dishes is stellar. Kids were practically licking their plates clean it was so good. Service was polite and friendly and the space is filled with charm. A must try in St. Louis! read more

A great stop for an elevated BBQ experience. We got the two meats but adding burnt ends (additional $7.99). All the meat was tinder, smoky and delicious. The cornbread tho!!!! It stole the show I could not stop eating it and the creamy sweet butter, SOOO good! Highly recommend. Great service, lots of BBQ Sauce options on your table and food came quickly. read more

Not inside, but there is outside seating that might allow it. There were no signs that said you can't bring a dog.

I've been there numerous times during lunch and have yet had a long wait. The earliest time you can get to opening is probably best though.

Depends on party size but we waited 45 minutes with party of 6
Is it handicap accessible?
I have been there once, there were 2 steps at front entrance, not sure of other entrances. They do have shaded outdoor seating (we sat there on picnic tables and they had some tables with chairs). Btw it was really good
