    Ackee and Saltfish Dinner Plate.
    Colleen M.

Ordered rice n peas got white rice. Ordered oxtail and ackee and salt fish and got minimal food. Rice tasted weird. No gravy with oxtail. And patty was dollar store quality for $4. Smh. Definitely was dissatisfied. But such is life.

The food here is so amazing it's one of our favorite places to grab food Togo or even eat inside. This is a true hidden gem of a place for food in saint louis. If you're thinking about trying it out trust me do it. Get the jerk chicken plate or red snapper.

It was good. However, it was extremely salty. This was my first time at this particular restaurant, so I'm not sure if it was a error or that's how they prepare the chicken. Overall, it was solid.

I always get the oxtail plate which is very delicious with extra rice. My boyfriend loves their jerk chicken plate. They never disappoint. I always order it for pick up and it's ready within 20 mins. The restaurant is family owned so it may look a little shady but I promise the food is the highlight!

My date and I did not enjoy our meals. I ordered the fish tacos. The fish was chopped up so small that I had to ask if there was any fish in the tacos. Plus it was incredibly dry and without taste. My date's street tacos were dry as heck as if the meat was overcooked. The street corn was horrible too and tastes burnt. The tortilla chips were not good either. My recommendation is to find another Mexican restaurant with better food....one just shy of Taco Bell. The one positive was our server!

Jamacian food is not plentiful in STL and hard to find. But - this is a hole in the wall that serves amazing flavors. First, I would set your expectations that this won't be your identical resort trip to Jamaica. This is mainly a to-go place, but there are 5 tables you can sit at inside. No-one but us sat inside, and although the people are really really friendly - it's in a neighborhood in South City that isn't a place I would go late at night. However, this place is worth it if you are itching for Jamacian, don't have the time to make it yourself, and you know De Palmas is average at best. To Dos: 1) Red Snapper (extra 20m and on Jamacian time it's really like extra 30m) You can call it in though. But u must get this!! 2) Curry Goat is very very tender 3) Jamacian Beef Patties 4) Spicy is not as spicy as I thought it would be 5) Jerk Chicken was bone in and my least favorite but still wonderful 6) Jamacian Ginger Beer!!! And remember, this place is cash only and looks like a Pay Day Loan shop.

Very unusual set up. I'm definitely not confident in dining in. I went in not expecting much on the inside and was not disappointed. Big speakers, a few green plastic covered tables, random guy in a recliner drinking a Heineken then later falling asleep.... all just kind of odd. The lady that took my order and brought my food and I'm pretty sure does all the cooking was lovely. She went above and beyond my expectations as did the food. Get the curry goat. Fantastic! Oh and don't forget the Beef Patty(ies)! Will definitely go back into the oddity and weirdness for that food! Thinking next time Oxtails!

Not good. Very greasy over cooked rice. The chicken was dry, the cabbage had no flavor, and plantains were soggy.

But it's all good and we all smile through. Took my brother Sunday night while he was in town cause he lives in a less diverse area and craves city access to all the thing. As soon as he said let's get Jamaican I began craving a meat pie. Have mercy I love them! They ain't playing with the spice either so I keep drinks handy. Ended up ordering one meat pie and a bowl of the soup of the day. It was red bean soup he said. But wow the depth of flavors and textures, it should get a better name! Love it and happily ate it all! The meat pie took longer of course to come out and they weren't kidding it was hot! Loved it and shared a tiny bite (cut off) with bro whose eyebrows lifted in joy. He had the jerk chicken plate and ate every dang bit! I have had wings, goat curry, jerk chicken, curry chicken, rum punch and lots more on other visits and had always left happy & full. The folks who work here are good folks and enjoy seeing others enjoy the food they prepare. On nice days there are a few tables out front, good to sit there except at rush hour cause you are next to the street. They do a lot of to go service so you will see a steady stream of folks in and out.

Oxtails - these were really good and tender with flavor. The rice and beans were just that rice and peas Jerk wings and fries - these wings were good. They were cooked right and had that jerk taste but the fries were not good. Jerk salmon plate - the salmon was over cooked, dry. The cabbage tasted like carrots and not cabbage.
