When I go, I often order two meals: one to eat there and one to have for leftovers during the week. My favorite is the coconut chicken curry with sides of sweet plantains and collard greens. My friend also likes the oxtail a lot. I also recommend ordering online if you want a comforting meal to go and support an incredible little restaurant in St. Louis. I absolutely love Haitian food and was super excited that I was able to go here when I was in St. Louis. I will definitely go back next time. I'm in St. Louis. I was a little sad that they didn't have any pickles the day that I was there. However, the food was delicious and the other items on my plate were very fulfilling. I also bought a few patties to take home with me as well. Can't wait to try other items on the menu. The service was good and everybody was very friendly. The inside of the shop is cool cause it has Haitian decor. They do not have a parking lot, but there is free street parking. Finally got to try My Marie Restaurant after it was recommended by another Yelper, and I'm so glad I did! Parking was manageable, and the entrance was bright and easy to spot. The space itself has limited seating, so it's better suited for smaller groups or takeout, but it definitely has a cozy and welcoming vibe. The staff were polite, helpful, and offered great menu recommendations, which I really appreciated as a first-timer. I originally wanted the beef riblets, but the menu has been updated (photo included), so I went with the jerk chicken (leg quarters), whole red snapper, beef patty, collard greens, cornbread, fried green plantains, and red beans and rice. They were out of mac and cheese, but honestly, everything I did get was fantastic. The flavors were authentic, rich, and perfectly seasoned. The snapper in particular was a standout, tender and savory with that true Caribbean flavor you hope for. If you're looking for some seriously satisfying Creole comfort food, My Marie on Cherokee Street is the spot. I got the Creole shrimp with peas and rice plus a side of mac and cheese, and let me tell you, I left full and very happy. The Creole shrimp had the perfect amount of kick, packing in those spicy flavors without overpowering everything. The mac and cheese was creamy, rich, and exactly what I wanted on the side. We're so happy to have a Haitian restaurant in town! And the food is delicious!! We were enjoying everything so much that I forgot to take pictures of our appetizers. We came in on a Saturday night. They were out of a couple of things, but it was the end of their day and was understandable. Alternate suggestions were made, and I ended up with a surprisingly delicious alternative to what I had planned to have. I ordered the marinade for an appetizer and two beef patties. The patties were some of the best I've had. I'd come back just for these. For my main meal, I ended up getting the beef riblets with jerk sauce on them. Oh. My. Word. The beef was so tender, and the sauce was delicious. I had plantains (green) and rice and peas for my sides. Their rice and peas was also so good! Also ordered at the table: jerk chicken, fried pork, beef stew, and legims. I'm a softy for anything pork belly, and every bite had perfect meat and fat balance. We also tried all of the sides, and I loved them all! Tried this small woman owned business for a late 2pm lunch on a Sunday. We were the only diners; a table was leaving when we came in. Some to-go orders were picked up, then a couple of guys sat to order. Ordered Caribbean coconut curry (with chicken, potatoes, bell peppers) with side of rice & beans and sweet plantains. Hubby got Seafood gumbo which was served with white rice. Son got jerk chicken with sweet plantains and mac & cheese. All was delicious, large portions and a good value. Sooooooooo I brought in my coworkers for lunch, I picked this location because it was Caribbean food and I love Caribbean food and I saw it had seafood options due to me currently not eating meat at this time. But of course the items that I wanted weren't available no seafood gumbo, the fish was Swai (not real fish) and they wouldn't budge on any alternative options. My Marie is a hidden gem! I've tried the Naked Fried Chicken, Chicken Curry and Gumbo. All were excellent, flavorful, large portions, a good value and worth returning for. As tasty as the main entrees are the SIDES are incredible. Marie's greens GIVE ME LIFE! The Mac and cheese is creamy and decadent, the plantains both sweet and green are wonderful. I never remember to take a pic when I'm in because I can't wait to dig into my lunch, but next time I'm in, I certainly will. The selection of soda is kind of limited, but hopefully will grow as the restaurant is more established. Give it a try! read more

When I placed my order I stated it would be about 20 minutes until I arrived. I got the Red Snapper which was crispy on the outside but tender on the inside, just perfect. And BEEF RIBS, something that is not that easy to find in Saint Louis. I would think being we have 1.5 million BBQ's in this town you would easily find beef ribs, but unfortunately not. These were tender with a nice crust on the outside, just delicious. Also the cabbage, Mac and cheese ,dirty rice and beans and collard greens, just like being in my family's kitchen. It really does take about 25 minutes for me to get there but it is worth every mile. I was headed to Whisk on Cherokee to grab me some sweets and I came upon My Marie. What a wonderful surprise. All I saw was the oxtail sign and I literally pulled over to check the place out!
