I attended an event (prince celebration) at The Good Room, on 6/7/2016 to say the least, the service wasn't good.. I went to the bar to order a drink, I asked the bubbly young woman if she had a Cava or anything sparking, dry or white. She made a face as if something smelled bad & shook her head, flipped her hair. Before I could say another word, she made a B line to the white dude & kindly took his order. She never gave a second look, I was quite puzzled by her behavior.. I the asked another bar tender if there was any wine, she said she woks check. Success I thought, but it wasn't.. She picked up the bottle of Pino & asked her colleague to open it, he then, put his mouth to the bottle & opened it with his teeth. I was horrified, she then came back to and attempted to pour. Why, fog, why? I went to a night that should've been fun, but I couldn't dance for longer than ten minutes because the fog machine kept spewing smoke into the middle of the dancefloor. I headed to the bar then bathroom, but both areas were super smoggy too. Same with Bad Room. Finally I headed outside to clear my lungs, where I found everyone I'd dance with hanging out. The fog machine had cleared the dancefloor. You could actually see the fog leaking from the front door outside - which is down a flight of stairs and past the coat check. I get a little atmospheric smoke, and if this were a well-ventilated venue I'd sortof understand. But Good Room doesn't need to pump fog onto the dancefloor till dancers start coughing and moving to the seats, or outside for some fresh air. One of my favorite DJs was playing there till close, but I was outta there by 2:30 - just couldn't breathe easily anymore. I've been to Good Room a few times, and I don't mind the venue otherwise - but if I'd known they'd gotten so fog happy, I wouldn't have bought a ticket. read more

I had a great time at the Good Room. I went to see one of my favorite Deejays spin and it was a great low key spot with people that were really there to dance and hear the music. Also, the dress code is casual so you can just go and dance up a storm without dealing with a snooty velvet rope and a bunch of coked up douche bags ruining the vibe. read more

This place supposed to be the next best thing in New York. I think they still have a long way to go. We got there around 11 on a Saturday night, the place was almost empty. At 1 AM you couldn't breathe, since the place got very crowded. The DJ did a good job, and the sound system is great if you care about those thing. A glass of Vodka and Red Bull will cost you 16$. And the funny thing was that when I asked for extra shot of Vodka, they charged me 32$!! For a small plastic (As you can see in the picture). The line to the bathroom after 1 AM become ridiculous, and you can easily spend 20 minutes or more till you get inside. I am sure they will improve, since the place in nice, and the people who work there even nicer. But they will have to get a more professional bartender, which will know that an extra amount of Vodka doesn't mean double the price, especially when you serve your drinks in glasses that usually in neighborhood parties. read more

Saw a show at Good Room on Friday night. An excellent mid-size music venue with high quality sound and enough separation for two shows to take place at the same time. Quality: A cool space that allows for two simultaneous shows without overlapping sound issues. It also has a decent bar with enough options to keep anyone happy. Quantity: Not a wide variety of drinks, but all the basics. Value: Tickets vary by the show. Beers ran around $9. Ambiance: Good Room is a very cool mid-size venue in the Greenpoint area of Brooklyn. The space has a main stage and dance area with connected bar, a smaller second stage room, and a lounge area that separates them. The sound quality was solid and I appreciated that you could really enjoy either show without overlapping sound. The lighting could use some work and there was an excessive amount of fog, but they nailed the important parts. Crowd: Maybe helped by a lesser known artist, but the crowd was the perfect size for the venue. It was busy, but not so packed you felt claustrophobic. Service: Quick to get through security and the bartenders were great. Parking: Not easy, but street parking can be found nearby. read more

Went to Good Room for the first time last night to see Juan Maclean. I really like the space and vibe. Very chill and and definitely a better mix of people than Output. The smaller room was a really upbeat vibe and it was nice to have both options! The doormen were very nice and friendly. One disappointing note was when I tried to order from the one brunette female bartender twice. I'm not exaggerating when I say that in my 8 years of going out in Brooklyn, I've never been treated so rudely. She was beyond inattentive, she was aggressively mean. Very weird. Lucas the other bartender saw what happened and came over and apologized, so at least that happened, but I witnessed her act the same way to a few other people. It was one person, so not reflective of the entire staff, but i guess just expect anything if you go. read more

There are two rooms; the main ballroom and a smaller one by the bar. We stayed longer at the smaller room because the music that night was more upbeat. We arrived at 11pm and the people started pouring at 12mn; the music improved by the time the place was packed. Incredibly packed that people were literally just standing and not dancing. They allow people to smoke indoors which is convenient during the cold seasons but not really safe. Almost got my coat burned from the people smoking beside me! Cover fee is $20. Bring cash so you don't have to suffer credit card minimums. read more

Went to my first GoodRoom show last night to see bands. Gotta say, after years of seeing bands at Europa, i dig the layout of the smaller, more intimate side performance room. Bonus points for fog machine, Chauvet LED lights, and green room with door behind drummer. The beer selection (nothing on tap, only Tecate/Stella/Red Stripe) could definitely use some work. Bring back the great Polish beers that the neighborhood loves! There's indoor smoking here, some might not like this. Will probably never go to dance club show here, but would like to put on a live band show here. read more

The staff is extremely professional and most of honest at the Good Room. A couple weeks of ago I attended this club on a Saturday night and lost my brand new I phone 7. Against all odds, I decided to contact the club on their facebook page to see if they have found it. They told me they would get back to and a few days later I got an email stating that they had! I was here last night for the DFA party. Long story short, I like this place but it's not somewhere I would see myself coming unless I really wanted to see a certain show. Granted a lot of my cons were due to how crowded it was, so on a lower capacity night it could be better. Pros: - Decor was really cool. I like when small clubs divide the space up into different rooms so there are places to sit. - The sound was amazing. You could hear well wherever you were and there wasn't any sound bleed between the two rooms - The security is not tight. A few people/the artists were smoking inside which could be a con to some, but I felt it made the atmosphere a bit more convivial. Cons: - The place is not designed to deal with capacity crowds. When we first arrived it and there was room to move around it was pleasant, but within what seemed like 30 minutes it was impossible to move around - Well drinks were $9. That's at least $1-2 too much for a place like this. Especially when you are getting the tiny plastic cups, and you are paying $30 to get in. - Bar staff was hit and miss. Some were very efficient, but one person took my order and then forgot about it twice, even when I flagged him down to remind him. He was literally standing in the corner talking to the bar manager. I finally asked someone else to make them and got them right away but the whole ordeal took about 40 minutes. read more

Love this place. The main room has plenty of space for dancing, and the bad room mixes it up with harder music. Yes, there can be long queues for the toilets and the bar, but that's standard at any club. I just wish they would get better ventilation for the main room, because for large bookings, the room can turn into an inferno. More air conditioning!!! The place that sets this apart from the two clubs down the street in Williamsburg is the crowd though. Everyone is friendly, and there to listen to good music and tunes, and to DANCE. Those other clubs can feel like drug dens full of creepers sweating profusely and getting handsy, but the Good Room has such cool people, and an AMAZING vibe. P.S. Good Room is my new favorite club in NY. It's not so big that it's overwhelming and not so small that you cannot lose your self. The sound system is top notch. There is a main room and a smaller dance floor as well in the "Bad Room" as well as a roomy bar. Drinks are well made and not overpriced. Came here for the Desert Hearts party in early May, which was full of good vibes. This was my first time at Good Room, and my first impression that it was different enough from all the other venues in the city, which was refreshing. The layout is cool--the bar is pretty big with three long sides for easy access. Free water pitches and cups were abundant, which was so lovely (and for this, they get an additional star.) I'm always a fan when there's two separate rooms--especially when they're seemingly close but not polluting each other's sound. It was particularly warm and sweaty in the big room as the night went on, and the bathroom lines do get long. Beware: around 4 a.m. a girl in our crew went to smoke a cigarette and she wasn't allowed back inside. They were very strict about this, so just keep this in mind as the night goes on. read more

This place is horrifying avoid at all costs. Came here tonight with a few friends and we were waiting in line debating paying the $25 cover. Meanwhile we can hear the door lady muttering loudly about how she knows we won't be coming in here and she doesn't want our money. Super confusing and weird. We had zero interaction with her and a door man quickly came over and kicked us out, saying keeping "the vibe" was more important than our money. Honestly a bunch of pretentious bullshit and a super odd and rude experience I will never have the displeasure of experiencing again. Great to see a new club in the area as a alternative to Output and Verboten. Good Room used to be Club Europa. After visiting the space when it was Club Europa and now, it is a total 360. The vibe is a lot different, in a positive way. Great House/Techno being played all night, with a hidden side room spinning alternative house/techno tracks. The crowd is more of a young but mature crowd that rivals other Brooklyn House/Techno outposts. The club is completely renovated, I read somewhere that the designer also designed Marquee New York and you can tell the detail of work that went into the design. All the employees from the security to the bartenders seemed very friendly. Overall, I cannot wait to go again. It's a great new spot that provides a perfect mix to the Brooklyn House/Techno scene. read more

Could have been a Good Room. Could have been a good night. However, the sound guy (maybe the owner?) started smoking there right in the middle of a small intimate show. Indoors. No ventilation. WTH who does that anymore? What's wrong with you? What selfish jerk is too precious to step outside to do your dirty habit? Went on a sat night 12pm-2pm. It was great. A sort of schleppy looking crowd but we were pretty shleppy looking too. Music and ambience were excellent. Dancing was great and the floor was packed. Cover was $30 but they may have been scamming us. Who knows. Beer was cheap. It got really crowded at 2 and there was a line outside. The evening of 02/03/17 I had a horrible experience here. I decided at the last minute to go out and figured I would check out one of the few EDM hotspots in the Williamsburg/Bushwick area that I haven't been to yet. Here is what happened in the order that it happened and just sticking to the facts: 1. I approached a line that was wrapped around the corner in freezing, windy temperatures and that was not moving. I observed numerous cop cars stationed around that intersection that seemed to simply be monitoring activity. Everyone was asking each other whether the line was for people with tickets or not and whether the line had been moving. Nobody knew what the line was for, and they said it was slow moving. 2. A guy with something similar to a tablet was moving his way backwards through the line asking each person if they had a ticket. If they did, he was asking for their name to check. If they didn't, he said nothing and moved on to the next person. 3. Everyone in line seemed to be shaking non-stop from the cold. As I turned the corner in the line, the guy asking about tickets asked the couple in front of me. He then was about to ask me but got distracted by a group of people asking him questions. When he returned to what he was doing, he asked the people behind me instead of me, who was already wrapped around the corner while they were not. 4. Twenty freezing minutes later I approached the front of the line. A different staff member was asking people towards the front of the line if they had stamps. Some of us looked at each other, scrunched our eyebrows, and began whispering, "Who was giving stamps?!?" We had been there twenty minutes and seen no such thing. Suddenly people from much further back began stampeding through the line showing stamps on their wrists. They let them through until there were no more of them. Then the staff looked at me and asked, "Where is your stamp?" No welcome, no pleasant greeting. I told him I didn't know who was giving them. He told me to see the guy in the fur. Guy in the fur? There was no guy in the fur. Suddenly a gay or metro yuppy in an oversized fur coat jumps out from nowhere and asks for my name and then he, too, gets distracted. The staff rolls his eyes and motions for me to move forward to a corral area for people who are now about to be let through the door. 5. We all stand in the corral area for another six minutes. Then the next staff at that door tells me to show him my stamp. I told him the furry guy was about to give it to me and then took off. He shouted for the furry guy. After the inside area was clear enough to let more people in, the staff at the door just motioned me in. I skipped the coat check and went to yet another staff at the bottom of some steps who (guess what?) asks to see my stamp. I told him the guy at the door told me to just go in. He shouted to the previous guy that I'm not stamped. He motions me outside and again shouts for the furry guy. 6. The furry guy again offers no greeting, no explanation of what he's doing or why, or what the process is, and just says "name?" I tell him my name and how to spell it. He says, "You're not on the guest list," and just like that takes one step backwards and opens the rope so as to let me leave! I told him I know I'm not on the guest list. I'm trying to buy a ticket. He says, "We don't sell tickets." Now at what point in the standing in the freezing cold with no signs, no greetings, and no communication about their entry process, were they planning on telling anyone they don't sell tickets?!?!?! Mind you, I'm an attractive, single female who went there alone. You would think that's who they would want in there.... Not to mention I have a career and could have dumped plenty of cash in the place for a fun night out. Now, they will never see me or my patronage there....ever! read more

The Good Room is a solid place. In terms of location it is not the most accessible to the more attractive/popular trains, so that can be a bit of a trek. It is directly next to a police station, so for the people who are into doing shady and non discreet things, then that can be a bit of a turn off. But I've been here a few times and rarely saw unwanted police presence. The space itself is pretty huge and not very difficult to get a drink at the bar for most of the night. Depending on who is playing it can be a hit or miss with how dancey the crowd is. I always prefer a crowd who likes to dance, and I've been here at both extremes (people standing around doing nothing and people really grooving out). The bouncers are fine and the security inside always look like they are aggressively searching for drug use or searching for too under the influence people. Never seen anyone get thrown out, but wouldn't be surprised if it happened. The place is very smokey and the cool part is they always have two separate DJs (good room vs bad room) and they always have different vibes so you can jump around to find your calling. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone who is into house music to come once or twice to check out the vibe (best time is after midnight of course). read more

quite good revamped old spot (used to be europa). vibe overall is generally what an underground partier is looking for. has a fairly big bar in between both rooms where you can talk if you like, sure. sound in the main room needs some serious help, but all good still. i was satisfied as the party was jumpin'. smaller room with it's "library" like vibe is intimate, chill, and quite crowded when i was there last. certainly a nice recent addition to the club scene. read more
