Cassell, Adam, and Cliff were the greatest! Thank you for being professional, a bit of fun, and damn good at your jobs! We will be calling these guys to move us till we're old and grey. This company is reasonably priced, so quick to communicate, and most importantly trustworthy. You should request Cassell, Adam, and Cliff for your move without a second thought- you will be taken care of! read more

I don't understand how this company has received so many 5 stars. I literally had to take a YEAR so I wouldn't write this out of an emotional state, but more a matter of fact. Let me start by saying the guys that did the job hustled and did a great job. They worked their butts off. It was management that fell through in almost every aspect. My husband and I moved out of state and decided to use good deeds based on their yelp reviews. I thought that if over 200 people LOvED them then things would probably work for us. Our adventure started with Rodney (owner) coming over and taking a look at our place in order to give us a price on moving AND packing. When we got the price it was definitely the cheapest we saw as we got a few quotes. He was a really nice and respectful person who gained our trust right away. He assured us we were in good hands. We asked what we needed to sign to get this going and he said he didn't need anything from us. We should have seen that red flag and stopped there. Problem 1: Come move day five guys showed up with a truck and they looked at our place and wondered why only half of it was packed. Rodney didn't tell them that they were packing up our place and they weren't prepared with ANY supplies to do so. We ended up giving them boxes we had to get to work. My husband worked all night to help them as well. Problem 2: the insurance they sent me was for a different company all together. I asked why it said Cal State Movers instead of Good Deeds and I was told he sent the wrong one. He did end up sending me a current insurance certificate with the correct name on there. Problem 3: the truck they brought wasn't big enough. They packed it up really well but we still had half our house to go! Problem 4 (biggest issue): Rodney said he couldn't procure another truck for us so we needed to go find one and pay for it ourselves. I honestly couldn't believe it. How can you say this is what you do for a living, but are not able to rectify the issue you caused? We ended up finding one at Uhaul. It cost us an extra $1,900. Problem 5: When I asked Rodney to take this extra money out of the settled price, he said he isn't making any money on this move and WE shouldn't have gotten such a big truck for that amount of money. It was too expensive. Needless to say, we were just trying to get this done and it could have been prevented with better planning. He did reduce our price by $800 and cover the second driver, but we had to eat the $1,100 extra for the truck. BTW the truck wasn't too big. We ended up filling the entire thing. Problem 6: they finally got on the road the next day, about 12 hours after they had planned to leave. They arrived at the new house with only two guys to unload. It took them, along with my husband, all day into the early morning to get it all done. As I said before the guys working the job (Edwin in particular) were amazing. BUT my husband should not have had to step in. The move should have been seamless and what we agreed to should have been done. This was the reason we hired movers, so we wouldn't have to do it. A few pieces of furniture were damaged and our old place was left a mess (tape on carpet, empty rolls left in the room, trash everywhere). I am very disappointed in how it went. I feel like so much could have been prevented. I would never use these guys again. read more

They did a fantastic job! Chris, Kurts, Dre, Kenny all did a wonderful job helping us move. We had a shipping crate drop off all of our furniture from over sea and they helped us take it out of the Shipping container and unwrap all of it and assemble. They were all very kind and respectful. Not one thing on the walls and nothing was broken.Highly recommend them! read more

Guys. I have been hiring movers for over 20 years. Long distances, short distances, cross town. You name it. NEVER had I enjoyed the moving process, but today I can say I actually DID!!! Our crew, Cassel, Adam, Twon and Dejuan were punctual, personable and professional!! I am honestly amazing with how quickly they moved all of our things!! We were moving from a 3 story townhome to a ranch. 6 hours including the drive time cross town! Everything was wrapped and handled like it was their personal property. We don't plan to move anytime soon but we'll surely be recommending them to whomever will listen. Seriously... HIRE THEM!!! read more

I contacted Good Deeds Moving and was greeted by a polite gentleman who texted back and scheduled for TJ to come by and provide us with a bid to move from Orange County to Arizona. The reason i am putting this review online is because i just declined to use them and again was responded with a very polite thank you. Nothing harsh or negative. I appreciate the great attitudes this company shows. I would also like to praise TJ for being larger than life and making a walk through of all my crap to move fun. He is a great guy. Thank you Good Deeds, i truly appreciate your honest help. JJC read more

First I would like to say that this company saved us for our move. The first company we went with canceled 20 minutes before our appointment, so we immediately saw the amount of positive reviews for Good Deeds moving and they were able to accommodate our move same day, and at such a reasonable rate. From the time we spoke to Rodney on the phone, to the end of the day when the truck drove away, we couldn't have been happier with the service and quality of work. A huge shoutout to the team of movers that made it so easy and pain free. Thank you to Saul, Peter, Curtis, and Alan! These four guys were amazing and came with such positive energy during what can be a stressful time. I would give 10 stars if I could! read more

Sergey and Willie are true moving professionals! They cater to the owners needs and ensure everything is packed, shipped and unpacked to our satisfaction. Our first time hiring a moving company and we were not disappointed. I loved how they were respectful of each piece of furniture and took great care not to damage anything. The men were very polite and hard working. We hired 4 men and a truck and they each took a room to pack and move. I loved how they choose to get the job done and not make it a two day move. We did not realize how much their was that needed to be moved and our move went into the the evening. If you hire this company to move your precious property they will get the job done . read more

Very professional and punctual. Called bright and early to confirm time and also double checked to see what extra boxes I might need. Took off the wall mounts and boxed, wrapped everything perfectly. Joe, Christ, and Eric came in with a mission and exceeded what I was expecting to get from movers. I highly recommend this team for anyone who is moving or planning to move! read more

Christian, chris and Cal were awesome! They did a great job moving my stuff from Irvine to La. thank you guys!

Sam, Izzy, Frank and Tay were great. It was a challenge to get everything to fit in the uhaul I rented but Tay was an expert Tetris player. My tip would be to direct the guys a little better as to what to wrap in the furniture blankets. Some things didn't need blankets but other items that should have been obvious to wrap weren't. Would hire again! read more

I would recommend them to anyone!!! Courtesy call the day before and again when they were on their way. Showed up on time. They wrapped everything and took great care of all my stuff. I had an elevator in the apartment I moved to that slowed down the move because we had to wait for it each trip, but they were extremely efficient and courteous to all my new neighbors. Best of all, they had a great attitude the entire time! I'll definitely be using them again! read more

Overall great experience! Staff was friendly and worked very quickly! Affordable especially for being full service movers. Thank you again!

I used Good Deeds for my move a few weeks ago and they did such a great job. So efficient, moved everything w care, packed almost everything. I had to them call to have them back because I ordered a new fridge which Home Depot, Lowe's and Best Buy would show up, look at the stairs and refuse to take it up the stairs. So called to see if they could come back, and also mount a TV while they were here. That had zero issues getting the fridge up and mounted the tv in no time. I've used movers that have been across country as well as within the state and by far these guys are the best. And very affordable! read more

Such a wonderful company. super helpful, prompt, polite, and strong. everything was moved in only a couple hours. They had called in the AM to see if we needed any help or if we needed them to bring any supplies. Again our move only took a couple hours!! This is a very well organized business. Don't keep looking, this is the perfect moving company! 10/10 highly recommend read more

I spoke to a lot of moving companies preparing for my move and I can tell you the prices here at Good Deeds Movers are the best in the area, fair terms, LICENSED AND INSURED, and they actually WANT YOUR BUSINESS! NICOLE answered my call and was so pleasant and caring and HARD WORKING, she went out of her way to accommodate me with same day service scheduling! Every other movers I called had no desire to try to fit me in, but this company actually wants the customer to be happy and wants to work! BEST PART: Good Deeds price per hour-- for SAME TERMS AND SERVICES as the company who cancelled me on the day of my move-- IT IS $60 LESS PER HOUR! And there is no service fee (like all the other movers I called) unless you drive a long distance. Good Deeds/Nicole MADE IT HAPPEN for me, added a new block of scheduling for me, ADDED WORK FOR THEMSELVES TO ACCOMMODATE ME!! These days that kind of customer care hardly ever happens and so many people run their business like their business is a hobby, not their livelihood, and like every customer is their next inconvenience as opposed to being their next blessing. GOOD DEEDS is about APPRECIATING, ACCOMMODATING, SATISFYING customers; MEETING A CUSTOMER'S NEEDS WHILE EXCEEDING THEIR EXPECTATIONS; and are the BEST VALUE -- LOWEST PRICES, but the SAME TERMS and SAME SERVICES as the more expensive guys -- and OF COURSE THEY ARE LICENSED and INSURED! My movers were equally impressive, arriving on-time and with such a nice truck, professionalism, and all their own helpful moving accessories. Curtis and Kervin (I cannot recommend them highly enough, THEY ARE AMAZING!) were the gentlemen who came and helped me move, and they were so patient with my questions, and were so smart and careful and pleasant! We got it done fast, but I never felt rushed, and they made everything about the move so much easier for me (I had been stressed about this move for months). This whole company is filled with terrific people and I can't wait to recommend them to anyone I know, THEY ARE THE BEST!! read more

I had a great experience with Joe, Akeem, and Alex last Friday morning. They were professional, courteous, and great to talk with. Moving is one of the most stressful things in life to do and those three made it an enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend using this moving company and ask for those three gentlemen. Leaving the heavy lifting to them will leave you with one less thing to worry about while you are in the middle of your move. Thanks again guys! read more

Good Deeds Moving is by far the BEST moving company ever! Moe, Markus, and Eric moved my HUGE load of valuable furniture (and antiques) quickly and most of all carefully. Moe even repaired two different pieces of furniture that had wobbly legs! He had the tools to fix my stuff on the spot- I was NOT expecting a handyman to boot! Ask for Moe.. Markus and Eric. These guys go WAY BEYOND normal service. You can relax.. I was totally blown away, "Lean Mean Moving Machine!" NO hidden fees - NO games - they are the real deal. Good Deeds was really honest and fair with the price too. Please tip them ... They deserve it. read more

This company saved the day! My day started poorly. After taking the day off to move, my plans were foiled by a different flakey mover who was a no show. So many untrustworthy folk out there! In desperation I called around and was blessed with a lucky break. Good Deeds office manager Danielle compassionately heard my saga & executed a plan to rescue me from a HUGE problem. INSANITY CANCELLED!!! Thank you! I asked her not to send flakes or losers! Since I did not need a truck GOOD DEEDS managed to worked a MIRACLE and get movers over late that afternoon! I know I got a lucky! Thank you! Omg! These guys were THE BEST!!!! What a blessing! I LOVED STAX SR. and STAX JR. They were hard working, conscientious, careful, kind, efficient, neat, helpful, strong, HIGH INTEGRITY and just the BEST! I could go on but you have the key points. Thanks also to the nice man RODNEY who was a helpful liason. Thank you TEAM GOOD DEEDS! You did just that! THANK YOU MR. STAX SR and MR STAX Jr! YOU SAVED ME. I AM VERY PLEASED. read more

Robney was responsive right away by text and gave me a great quote based on what I thought my square footage was. He sent someone out to be sure that was the correct amount and I appreciated the effort to give me an accurate binding quote. They accommodated my very rushed move schedule and charged me thousands less for a long distance move than two other companies quoted me. Edwin was the lead on my move; he and three other guys were extremely kind, efficient and easy to work with. The were very careful with my things and worked quickly. I would definitely work with Good Deeds again and recommend them to other people. I had a great experience with them. read more

Good Deeds Moving - They hoisted my extremely heavy steel furniture out from the second floor with finesse. - Movers Near Me - Irvine, California

We moved from Yorba Linda to Placentia. Taye, Fred, and Israel were our movers. The guys were on time, arriving between 8 and 8:30. They were friendly and courteous, and worked hard and fast. They took a short break to eat just before taking off for the new house, otherwise they were busy the entire day. They were very honest with their time. We felt they were cognizant that we were paying by the hour and wanted to provide the best service possible. All the furniture was nicely wrapped and protected. Nothing was damaged. A piece came off of one of our floor fans, but that was not a big deal. There was a short period where we worried about damage to our refrigerator and door jambs as they moved it out of the house. Though I suggested they take it out the slider(the way it was brought in) they opted for the dining room door and ended up taking the door off the hinges and taking some hardware off the fridge. Ultimately, it took some time and they were successful but I believe their way was not the most efficient. I used another moving company just 6 months ago so I can make some comparisons, though the amount of stuff moved this time was much more. Fred asked me if I had ever seen people move as fast, and I was honest and told him that my other movers moved very fast as well. When I showed them my motorized recliner sofa and loveseat, unlike the other movers, they did not know how to take them apart. They moved them as a whole, on a flat dolly, and it worked out fine. There was a mishap at the new house where Israel lost his footing and fell, with a heavy tool chest toppling over. Thankfully, he didn't get hurt badly and was able to get up and shake it off. At the end, after paying Taye and as they were getting ready to leave, Fred came up to me and asked me if I was happy with the service and their work. I said I was and he told me that it was customary in the moving business to tip the workers. After my other moving experience, I had tipped the guys, and it had occurred to me earlier in the day to tip Taye, Fred, and Israel. Unfortunately, I didn't have any cash, and my checkbook was packed away. Fortunately, my sister-in-law had some cash that I could borrow, and so we were able to provide the tip. My brother-in-law had also bought the guys lunch earlier in the day. So, while if a tip is expected I understand Fred asking about it, the experience did leave me feeling a little uncomfortable. At the end of the day, we had a good experience with Good Deeds Moving. read more

I was really disappointed with the service I received from Good Deeds Moving. We had our move at the end of June. It's now the middle of July, and we are still dealing with the aftermath of their mistakes and in professionalism. We did not get a check-in the day before our move, as promised by the person I coordinated with. I had to reach out to them the day before, and they did not contact me until the next day (the day of our move). That morning call revelries that they had mixed up our move time, and they accommodated for our original time, which was in the afternoon. They arrived much later than they had verbally said would be their expected arrival time. They arrived a little before 5pm instead of around 1pm as they had said. They did not have as many wardrobe boxes as they had said they would bring, and many of the boxes were falling apart. The main thing I was disappointed about was the movers' deconstruction and reconstruction of our bed frames. The two frames they had difficulty with were standard Ikea beds. Because they did not know how to disassemble and assemble them, the move took much longer than anticipated. My roommate had to pick up screws behind them as they disassembled and moved her bed frame down to the truck. They also lost major parts of my bed frame during the move (the bed slats ($50) and some screws). I believe these major mistakes fall on the company. Perhaps there needs to be better and more uniform training for their movers on assembling and disassembling beds/furniture. My roommates and I have reached out to Good Deeds about 4+ times since the move. They gave us a big discount on our overall move to account for the time spent disassembling and assembling the bed, which we really appreciate. They are also reimbursing me for the missing bed pieces. It was inconvenient to go to ikea and buy the pieces myself. Right now during this pandemic, it's about a 1.5+ hour wait to get inside of Ikea, but it was faster than waiting for them to buy the pieces. My roommates and I also assembled my bed ourselves because Good Deeds said it would be another week until they could send someone out to assemble my bed. When we could get a hold of someone at Good Deeds, they were generally helpful, but we've had to reach out multiple times to follow up. I am still waiting on my reimbursement and had to give my information regarding the reimbursement 3 times (once two weeks ago, and twice this past week to two different representatives). I think improvements with communication internally as well as with clients would have helped this situation. I really just want to be done with my service with Good Deeds. I appreciate how they've attempted to make things right from the move, but I can honestly say, using their service in many ways has made an already stressful move even more stressful. From the great reviews they've received, it appears that my move was an anomaly. I'm really glad if that's the case, though I wouldn't take my chances again for my next move by using Good Deeds. read more

They helped my sister and I move into her new place. Driving down to south orange county from helping us pack the large pieces of furniture. Wrapping each item carefully in buffering fabric and plastic guaranteed the safety of our stuff. Edwin, Jermaine, and Robert were a pleasure to work with and they even helped us with some friendly tips on the best way to decorate the furniture even other tips for a new homeowner. I will definitely use them again for my next move and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a great quality moving service. read more

UPDATE: Rodney called me himself and let's just say he made things right. He really did. That's worth bumping it back up to a 5-star service. Yes, that's good enough for me. Thank you, Rodney! read more

We experienced a mostly smooth loading and unloading. The guys were extremely careful with wrapping and covering items. We packed our own boxes and they even even covered and wrapped those as necessary to make them even more secure for the move. The price and everything included was extremely competitive. They were even extremely flexible when we didn't close on our house on time and needed them to store our items on the truck an extra night. There were some communication issues during the loading process after a driver was missing due to COVID-19 precautions and they had to get another driver. This set us back a few hours during which time I feel communication on status could have been better. Overall, a great experience and we would use them again. read more

So when I saw these 5 stars I thought these reviews can't all be real.. so I'm going to be very upfront and honest about what exactly went down and why my rating is 5 stars even though I did not have the best experience with one of the movers. I got many quotes from other companies before going with good deeds and I actually had it set with another company but they could only give me a 4 hour window.. so I spoke to Rodney here at good deeds and I just adored this man, his demeanor and mostly I sensed he had a good heart, therefore would be a fair man and that he was! I let him know I needed an exact time and an early one because I had to go to work in the afternoon..he said 8am.. so the guys showed up but it was close to 8:30. And at my door empty handed with no dolly, no wrap, or anything.. ok ok.. no problem because I personally took all my boxes and clothes this past week myself leaving them just the big stuff from an 800sq foot apartment. Can't take that long right? Wrong! They didn't leave till 11:30am..they were done at 11:11 inside my apartment.. anyways, terry one of the movers told me they are taking a lunch..I told Terry I have to be at work and Rodney the owner reassured me at the time of booking it would not be a problem. Terry did not seem to care and said you won't make it by 4 and still went ahead taking his time which led me to call out of work..they showed up at 1:13pm and it took them quite a while to figure out how to park a truck in front of a house full of parking..then Albert tried to open a lock and couldn't and then terry tried and they couldn't so they had to move the truck again and turn it around because the keys wouldn't work (on my time and my dollar)..I took a deep breath and just tried to be cool and calm because they were very nice guys..especially Albert. Then terry gashed the wall of my boyfriends house bringing a bookshelf up..he apologized but it's not my house...so upon them finishing at aprox 3pm, I asked for a discount to have someone come fix the gash, and for the fact that I feel taking a lunch was unnecessary on my time knowing the owner Rodney reassured me I would not miss work and they would be quick since I was very organized and made the job easy for them as they stated themselves. There were no long hallways and far elevators, therefore no excuses. Terry offered to give me $25 for the gash and $25 to leave a yelp review. That rubbed me the wrong way. I have to say that in no way shape or form did this come from the owner Rodney! It was rather insulting to be honest..I still went nicely to explain how I felt to the boys and Terry raised his voice at me and earlier sarcastically laughed when I said I told Rodney you guys were great people but.. the fact that he raised his voice in front of where I would be living at my new residence really bothered me. He raised his voice telling me it's a federal law that he gets a break. A break , sure! That's why I stopped the guys multiple times and gave them ice water and said hold on.. I want you guys to drink up and hydrate. But to go take a 30 min lunch on the way to the new house when I get charged a double for the hour, I wasn't cool with that..he said he would take it out of the time but he should have taken the time out for many things..I've just never heard of movers doing that..and fine! No problem..but this needed to be discussed at the time of booking. Let me know what I'm getting myself into. I've never had any moving company take a lunch nor has it ever been discussed at time of booking. Now, I do believe Terry was a nice guy but to raise your voice whether you believe I'm right or wrong is not the way to handle it. Albert kept his cool even though I could tell he was not happy. My five stars go to Rodney. No matter what the situation, this man is an out of the ordinary genuine nice guy from the south. I can't speak highly enough for him. What a gentle soul and because of him, I would give this company another chance. He was so beyond fair to me and it just doesn't happen. I hope I was fair to him too. You are in excellent hands with Rodney and he will make sure you get good customer service. I tip based on service and I find myself to always be very fair and honest. Had Terry seemed apologetic (genuinely) for the gash or chose not to react the way he did, he would have received a more than fair tip..but I retracted after his attitude. Thank God I packed my own boxes and took my clothes and boxes myself.. Regardless, it's the owner of the company that deserves the stars. What a kind man..I really hope Terry will just learn from this experience. I know I've made mistakes on the job and had to learn to not react as well because truly customer is not always right in my book, but you still have to handle each situation in a professional manner. read more

The company moved us about 3 miles to a new location on 6/4/20. The crew was very friendly and polite and seemed knowledgable, but they cracked the marble top on our coffee table. They came by yesterday, on 6/17, to take it to a furniture repair facility, but I do not know where yet. The marble is cracked clear through and separated more, it seemed, each day. I requested that they replace the entire marble top. I will write a further review after I see when and how the repair is handled. read more
