    Bulgogi
    Chelsea G.

We spontaneously met my fiance's father here on a Wednesday night. I can't vouch for the unlimited or combo menu ~ Appa ordered the Bulgogi. The banchan came out quickly and the kimchi they served seemed to be bottomless and in a massive container ~ it was just okay. Things you should know: I. PARKING The restaurant is in the Assi Plaza. The shared parking lot is huge and will have plenty of free available spaces. Easy. II. SERVICE Our waitress came to attend to the Bulgogi fairly often, as busy as she was. We were very thankful. III. QUALITY The Bulgogi hotpot was delicious. The meat quality was excellent. The banchan, however, wasn't memorable. IV. CAPACITY Lively for a Wednesday night. Glad to see business is well.

Gom K Bbq is located in the same shopping center as Assi, off of Old Peachtree in Suwanee. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, walked through a metal detector and was seated. Banchans we're quickly brought out. We got the Beef set in Medium that feeds 2-3 for my party of 3 adults and 2 kids, and an order of their dumpling soup. The banchans were kinda bland and I wasn't a huge fan of any of it, but my husband and son liked the spicy fish cakes. The dumpling soup was good and full of flavor, I just wished they cooked the rice cakes a little longer because they were hard to chew. The meats were all high quality and cooked over a charcoal grill. My husband enjoyed every bite. We usually like to cook the meats at our own pace but our server stayed and cooked all of our meats the entire time. The dipping sauce provided were salt and pepper, chili oil, sesame oil and hot sauce. My kids barely ate, glad we had another adult there or else there'll be lots of left overs. I was shocked we were allowed to take the leftovers to go. We usually don't ask because most places don't allow it, could be the menu option we selected. We'll have to try the ayce option next time.

When I was in Atlanta my friend and I ate here few times. It was always amazing. Chef Sarah pretty much adopted us. The food is great! We get the bbq usually the small beef and pork set. It's just enough food. Make sure you are hungry and prepared for the meat sweats afterwards. Pictured was the medium set, which they tried to discourage us from getting. There was three of this time but we -barely- made it though. Had to take some of it home in a box. But overall we made a decent dent in it! The inside is fine, nothing overkill. Nice size tables all with the grills and hoods over them. The TVs are playing random Korean dramas or reality shows. We kept coming back just for the quality of the food and the service chef Sarah would provide

Outside. Storefront. Entrance. Located at the "Galleria at Sugarloaf" (same shopping center as Assi Suwanee).

ATL Gom BBQ (or Atlanta Gom BBQ) is yet another solid Korean barbecue restaurant in metro Atlanta. This one teeters on the four and five star line for me. Our dinner here was excellent and I recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious Korean barbecue experience. ATL Gom BBQ opened in summer 2016 at the Galleria at Sugarloaf, a.k.a. the Assi Plaza shopping center in Suwanee, not far from I-85 exit 109 (Old Peachtree Road). For in-town folks, this restaurant is far -- anywhere from a 30-to-40-minute drive from Atlanta without traffic. It's worth the drive if you, like me, love Korean barbecue and exploring new/different restaurants. Is it significantly better than several of the already very good Korean barbecue options in the area? Admittedly, no; there are just so many great options for Korean barbecue, especially in Gwinnett. That said, I think ATL Gom BBQ is worth checking out if you've never been. Who knows? It might become your next favorite Korean barbecue spot. This restaurant doesn't look as trendy as some of the newer Korean barbecue restaurants that have opened around town in the last five years. However, it's still nice and clean with some modern touches. The interior is cut in the more simple, low-key, and traditional Korean mold, which I appreciate (the newer Korean barbecue restaurants have strayed from this). The restaurant is spacious with a comfortable and casual atmosphere. There are partitioned sections of seating with lots of wood. I love the music playlist which includes K-pop hits from the late 90s (e.g. S.E.S.) through the early 2010s (e.g. Busker Busker). As far as the smoke level and smell is concerned, it's not bad. We left this restaurant hardly smelling like barbecue. Then again, during our visit for dinner on a Saturday night, the place wasn't very busy so that played a role as well. When we visited, the menu contained nine beef options ($21.99-64.99 each), six pork options ($19.99-22.99), and four unique seafood options ($14.99-31.99). No chicken. Like the competition, ATL Gom BBQ offers set course menus and unlimited all-you-can-eat (AYCE) options. There were beef courses ($99.99-149.99), pork courses ($69.99-99.99), and mixed courses ($59.99-169.99). AYCE options included unlimited 90-minute oak-smoked pork belly for $22.99 per person and unlimited brisket, oak-smoked pork belly, thin-sliced pork belly, and pork shoulder for $29.99 per person. While it's a bit more expensive per person, I recommend going with one of the course menus because you get higher-quality and better-tasting meats. Outside of Korean barbecue, the restaurant offers an abbreviated menu of Korean appetizers like kimchi and seafood pancakes ($18.99 each), lunch boxes ($12.99-15.99), and lunch and dinner entrees like noodles and soups and stews ($9.99-23.99). Beverage-wise, they sell soju, Korean rice wine and other Korean alcoholic beverages, as well as beer and wine. We had a group of four and were recommended (by staff) and ordered the "AA" course ($119.99 or about $30 per person). Our AA course included: First grill: * Beef brisket * Thin-sliced pork belly * Pork shoulder * Oak-smoked pork belly Second grill: * Pork bulgogi * Rib fingers * Charcoal-grilled beef I listed the meats above in the order they were cooked. The "first" and "second" grills refer to two different types of grills that were used to cook the meat. ATL Gom BBQ uses a combination of charcoal and gas grills to cook their food. All of the meats were cooked atop charcoal. The first grill was more of a solid-surface grill with slits cut into it while the second grill was a wire grill, exposing the meats to more charcoal. Generally, the first grill is used for pork while the second grill is used for beef. Overall, I thought all of the meats were quite tasty except for the pork shoulder. The pork shoulder seemed a bit dry and tough to me, but it wasn't anything a little sauce couldn't fix. ATL Gom BBQ provides a housemade sauce which you can add chili paste and chili oil to. It's wonderful. The rib fingers were my favorite. They were incredibly flavorful and melt-in-your-mouth good. The oak-smoked pork belly, which is one of this restaurant's specialties, was fantastic too. All of the meats were good quality. Banchan included kimchi (the more fermented kind), broccoli with gochujang, pickled daikon, jalapeno and radish, macaroni salad, spicy bean sprouts, salad, steamed eggs, and soybean paste soup. Fresh bean sprouts were also thrown on the grill. No dduk bo ssam (rice rolls) here. We also tried orders of their cold noodles (not included with the combo, $11.99 each) and they were A-OK. Condiments included customary fresh garlic and jalapeno, soybean paste, and sesame oil with salt and pepper. Phillip was our server. He was very attentive and lightning quick at cooking. He was so fast that we actually felt rushed while eating. The manager was really friendly and checked on us multiple times. In Korean, "gom" = bear.

I've always seen ATL Gom BBQ but never stopped by, until now. It's located in Suwanee, GA at the Old Peachtree exit off of I-85. It's in the same shopping center as ASSI supermarket. Korean BBQ is safe to say pretty popular in GA. Lots of them offer a similar menu and a similar experience for the most part. With so much competition, it makes it kind of hard to stand out now a days. Interior wise, decor is fairly simple, you have booth seating options with coal grilles built into the table beneath a vented hood for removing smoke. Which I will comment, you definitely don't leave smelling too smoky like some other kbbq restaurants. That's a huge plus is my book. The menu is pretty much like any other kbbq restaurant. All the meat options were pretty much up to par with what you would expect. Didn't see anything too exotic. You can choose to order from the menu or go for preset meaol with the meat already chosen for you. Of course you also have an all you eat option too, which if you order everyone else at your table will have to get as well. Your meal is accompanied with an assortment of small side kimchi and salad base dishes. You also get a steamed egg souffle. Pretty much what you would get at other places too. The meat quality is pretty good overall I would say. Not much to describe here, the meat tasted good for the most part so no real complaints. Beef and pork had lots of flavor and some smoky-ness. By the way they give you a lot of bean sprouts which cook right next to the meat. The bean sprouts takes like they have had some butter added to for a flavor boost. Service was pretty good. They weren't too busy so can't say how it is when it's a packed house. They come by often enough so you really don't get too much of alone time in between the meat cooking so it sort of feels like your server is part of your dining party too. Overall, it's a good Kbbq restaurant. It's sort of hidden so not too many may want to drive out to eat here but it's definitely worth checking out for sure.

Well, well, well. I came across this place when I was in the area. This restaurant was a tossup, between another Korean AYCE. I'm glad that my luck didn't run out!! This place is great! This restaurant is located in a little Korea based area mall. Upon going inside, we was greeted with a warm welcome. We was seated immediately. The menu was very plentiful with different types of meat (from beef bulgogi to premium beef Wagyu.) When I inquired about the Wagyu, the server said that they were out. We tried the beef bulgogi, which was delicious, but too sweet for my taste. The oak smoked pork was perfect! Yes, Lord. That there oak smoke pork, was like they chopped oak wood, killed a pig, and sat outside all day, brought the pig in the restaurant (still smoking,) and handed it to me. I kid and play you not. We had the beef brisket, which was good. The thin sliced pork belly was good too. What I really liked, was the fact that the beef bulgogi was cooked near the flame. He said it wasn't cooked on top of the hot grill, because the juices will leak through... BINGO! I loved that. Shoot, I like when my meat can cook in it's marinated juices. The side dishes were plentiful too. My favorite was the pickled but sweet jalapenos and onions. We spent $30 per person here. I asked how much a soda was and if it was free refills. The soda was $1.99 with no refills. So guess what? My dehydrated butt drank ALL their water. They did all of the cooking for us. We didn't have a chance to cook ourselves, which was a plus. I enjoyed this restaurant, the friendly server and staff, and the atmosphere. This is definitely a "go back" ," take me here" restaurant!

The Food was delicious the steak and Kimchi Rice was my favorite. The friendly service was top notch! If you have to entertain friends, clients or want a fun date night give it a try!

Literally when I stepped through the doors and stood at the counter there wasn't anybody nor signage to tell me to wait or seat myself. I waited for at least 3mins .... then from the floor I was motioned to grab any table. Once seated, the waiting time to take my order was again extremely exorbitant, as was the wait for my meal. Strangely, I arrived at about 11:25am, they open at 11:00am, and the restaurant was almost empty. The lunch crowd had not arrived yet. lunch hour first there not a lot of people. Either they were short on staff or need to hire more staff (only 2 servers who also bussed tables). The food! Well, lunch specials are 6.99 - 8.99 (5 soups with rice and sides), Monday thru Friday's from 11:00 am - 5:00pm. My lunch was delicious. I ordered the Kimchee/ Tofu Pork Belly Soup special for 6.99. This soup is super spicy hot. I ordered it a tad less spicy. It was verrrry good. My meal contained a lot of food. If you don't eat all of your side dishes you cannot take them to go. They are considered "free & complimentary" ... be ware! Then comes yet another long wait for my ticket as again the lunch crowd piled in AND there were only two servers . I neglected to mention that once I was served no one came to check on me. I had to flag my server down in the midst of him literally running from tables to kitchen, to ask for water then my ticket. Bottom line: Good food, decent prices, clean facility, but if you are in Hurry or on a lunch break this eatery may not work for you. My Podiatrist is out this way (Duluth) so I'll be back again. Hopefully, I will experience better service and can update my rating.

Had the short rib soup with cabbage (lunch special is only $6.99!!!) with some buddies of mine today. The food was fantastic and the side dishes were great as well. Pricing is also pretty fair - especially the deal I went with. The -1 star is simply because I feel like their service could be better. The service was definitely friendly, but a bit lax. There were not many customers but our side dishes ran out and we were not given more until we asked for it (after waiting for a while) and we waited at the register for about 5 minutes before we were able to pay our bill (not because there was a line but because there was no one to help us at the register - we had to flag our server to help us at the register too). Will definitely be back again - especially for that lunch special deal! ^^

I usually don't like to review places I've been to only once, especially since first impressions can be off so I've decided to write this review because I've now been here twice. ATL Gom BBQ is a cozy Korean BBQ restaurant near Assi plaza that has won me over as a fan. Their interior decor is a balance between American BBQ and Korean BBQ and while I like that I would say their food is definitely geared towards Korean BBQ and Korean food lovers. What I especially liked about this place is their Galbi Tang and their quality. Being that they are open late night I am happy to announce I have found another late night option for great tasting and healthy Korean food not just Korean BBQ. My most recent visit was a late night visit and consisted of a Galbi Tang which was made with a Spicy option and let me tell you, it was fantastic. Taste and quality of Korean food are important to me and that their side dishes were delicious too at that. There is a saying in the Korean community, if the sides are good the food is good. I would argue that this is the case with Atlanta GOM BBQ. Lastly, their service. Well, I would argue when I first came here the service needed an upgrade. Actually, dare I say, it was not very good even. This can be overlooked slightly by the fact that they had just opened at the time. My most recent visit was met with a very kind and courteous waiter named John. He was very polite and kind and that says a lot esp since it was so late at night! So bravo and kudos to John who has merited this fine establishment a Yelp review and a decent one at that. Good customer service goes a long way in my humble opinion. 3.9875 stars rounded up plus a bonus star for good service and being open at late night when most if not all the restaurants around you in the Assi plaza are closed make ATL Gom BBQ a 5 glowing and throbbing Yelp star establishment. Well done guys, keep it up and have a positive day.

    Just the beginning!

The best Korean BBQ restaurant in Atlanta. The meat selection, the employees and the owner are absolutely OUTSTANDING!!!!! I cannot say enough about this place. It is not commercial or franchise at all. The ambiance is par none, the kimchi is the best I've had. But beyond it all, sitting down at a table feels like friends and family coming back together. Whether you know the staff or not!!!

The shrimp were delicious and prepared just like I'm used to. This dish is lightly battered fried shrimp with a soy sauce bases sauce with red pepper and black pepper spices. It also features other sautéed veggies like green peppers and onions. The shrimp were spiced nicely, but also had the flavor of black pepper coming through. A lot of places don't get that right. The perfect mix of that spice red pepper heat and hint of black pepper are exactly why I love about this dish. The shrimp were fried perfectly and the veggies deliciously sauted. The Haemul Jjampong was a flavor and spice bomb. The broth was so flavorful and had a great essence of the seafood in it (squid, mussels, abalone). This soup is also for people not afraid of the spice...it was SPICY, but no so much that it was unenjoyable. The spice complemented the flavor and I loved it. The take-home of the leftovers was just as good the next day! If I had to say anything that they might think of changing, would be the addition of kimchi to the banchan. The banchan was ddanmuji (pickled radish, raw white onions, marinated white onion slivers, and soy marinated peanuts). A little plate mat kimchi to wrap around the Jjampong noodles would be perfection.

Really generous with the banchan. I love the banchan there, it's 4 different kinds but all of them complement the food you eat. I was on a tear last night. Ordered the teokbokki as an appetizer. Then went with the soondubu ramen combination with beef bulgogi. First of all, the ramen is definitely a big portion, combined with the tofu it's a lot. Medium spicy is good enough unless you like sounding like you're a recovering drug addict. My goodness. I took the ramen noodles out so I could make sure I had broth left. Ate very slowly because the picked radishes were so good and the kimchi cucumbers were also killer. The teokbokki was tasty, but nothing special. Price is good, sharing is fine. But in the future I love the combo idea because you get a small skillet of beef, onions, and peppers. Sweet and savory, paired with the ramen soondubu it's a LOT. We took the rice cakes home. I can't speak any higher about the cleanliness and service here. They all pitch in, and I wonder if they knew I was going to write something because I took so many pics. Either way I believe this is the best place for tofu stew in the OTP area. Support small businesses! I'll be back!

The service was efficient and the person working the cashier was kind and friendly. Definitely great location with a clean restaurant for dining in love the tables and chairs . When I arrived it was pretty empty hopefully more people learn about this place and looking forward to trying more food hall options .

They have combos that you can customize. I ordered the Chicken combo for 2 and it came with so much food! (my husband eats for 2 himself) Portions were plentiful and everything was really tasty. I love that they give you the choice between steamed and fried dumplings too. I was pleasantly surprised, I am pretty picky with taste and quality. I would order again for sure. Chicken was so crispy, not overly oily and perfectly done. Everything was well packaged, and they even cracked the chicken packaging so it stays crispy.

The brisket was so juicy and pork belly nice and thick. Our server was always ready to change our grill or get the next meat cooked. You have the option of of ordering other sides, meats , and dishes a la carte - we got a cold noodle which was overall good but the noodles were a little gummy and stuck together when it got to our table. Overall, probably the best quality meat these days and if it weren't so far away or pricey, I'd be a regular here.

We came for a late lunch and enjoyed a relaxed and very enjoyable Korean BBQ meal and everything was to a very high standard. Health score and proper handling of the food is no longer a concern whatsoever. They are open late till 2:00 a.m. so late eaters can enjoy some mean Korean BBQ grilled over charcoal. Honestly, this has to be one of the top three Korean barbecue places in all of Georgia and possibly even in all of USA. 5 stars is an understatement. Thank you Cow Wow!
