Short review, as I've never been here before, and won't be back again. We ordered eight piece combo meal and a few drinks. They were not busy and you could see piles of chicken ready to go. However, when I went up to order their spicy chick wings after around ten minutes and asked my order, I was told they were waiting on the fired okra. Food was fairly plain tasting and oily. Spicy wings were the same, only difference was they sprinkled some powder on them and not evenly coated. Only one side. Very sad. One nice touch was they have a soft serve machine that's complementary for those who purchased food and dined in person. Again, we won't be back. They were also pricy. read more

On a road-trip with my Wife and stopped in at "Golden Chick" in Liberty Hill (TX State Hwy 29) for Lunch. Ordered the "Six Piece Golden Tenders" with one side (Cole Slaw) and Ranch Dipping Sauce. Excellent on the speed of service since they were really busy. Great Customer Service from the lady at the register (name on receipt is Mario A). The Golden Tenders were Perfectly Breaded with a Nice Crunch, served HOT from the Kitchen and Tender & Juicy-Liciousness with every bite. The Ranch Dipping Sauce was also very Tasty and that Yeast Roll was Huge, Softly Sweetness in every bite. We received "Seven Golden Tenders" and each one was a nice size - and was just what we needed. No pictures because we ate in the Car. read more

Ordered online via the app as its perfect and so easy. It generally says 17 minutes for the order to be ready for pickup which is perfect as we live 15 minutes away. I wish we had coupons to use as we love their chicken but never see anything for discounts. It's a drive but everything is a drive for us, which is ok by me. Great choices, great chicken, as well as other items. Use their Zing to add a little kick to your meal. Worthy of a bookmark and yes, a 15 minute drive !!!! read more

Whyyyyy do my kids live this place?! Killing me. On the last visit, 1. I asked for a small drink, she rings me up for a large at an extra fifty cents. Really? 2. I asked for a Kid's chicken leg meal. She tells me they don't offer that....as I'm looking at the menu that gives you an option of chicken tenders or a leg. After going back and forth several times, turns out it was a misunderstanding. Turns out I wanted a "drumstick", not chicken leg. . Then when they finally brought our food, it was chicken tenders. You can't make this stuff up! I asked to order a kids drink or a small drink and was told they only have medium or large....after my friend ordered TWO meals with kids drinks....I know they exist and yet have been told they don't. I'm unsure if the employee is unaware of the menu or what (the lady who took my order was different from the gentleman that took my friends order), but it is frustrating. I've also had several occasions where I requested lotta zing sauce instead of gravy only to receive no sauce or gravy. The food and prices are the only reason I gave 3 stars, if based on service I would give 0 stars. Too bad there isn't an option to leave 0 stars. I do not recommend this establishment & will never give them another dime. I ordered a tender meal with seasoning packets & a kids meal with Mac & cheese. When I was handed the bag i didn't see any seasoning packets. And while I was double checking that they didn't put it in one of the boxes I noticed that my daughters kids meal had fries instead of the Mac & cheese I had requested. I waited until a young man came to the window & opened it without saying anything. I informed him of the mistake, he made me open the box & lift up the roll. Then he shut the window & walked away. A few moments lady another lady came to the window stating "You didn't order Mac & cheese". Really?! I hope when you're throwing away the extra Mac & cheese & 10 cents worth of a kids cup you realize it costed you a customer. I then said I had asked for spice packets & didn't get those either. Absolutely worst experience. Tried to order through drive through and person taking the order was not paying attention. We made an order for one meal and there was no response. We asked if anyone was there. The response was finally, " is that all?" No! There was so much background noise and the person taking the order just wasn't paying attention at all. We tried a few times to tell her our second meal but she never responded for at least 20 seconds. When she did come back on and ask if that was it-just the one meal ordered, we said forget it. We drove around and asked her what was going on-also asked for the manager. The person taking the orders said she was the manager. Oh my...that was such a bad experience. My husband and I ordered 2 piece dark meat (leg and thigh) and chicken tenders. The young man who took our order did not know that a leg and/or thigh was dark meat....really?! It was frustrating ordering at the drive-thru with this young man. The chicken did not have any flavor because of a lack of seasoning in the crust; it was blah. It's a chicken place. It's better than pluckers. The fried okra? Bomb. I love fried okra. They have a family size that's dang near a meal in itself. The chicken is always fresh, the sides are tasty. The only star being docked is because the staff frequently forgets to triple check the food they're putting out. I'd say more often or not I'm missing something. read more

This one is worth the read! If you want your food bag inspected, and by inspected I mean literally gone through, when they forgot to put something in it from your order, then you've found the right place! I've left a negative review before due to them getting my order wrong. And when I say wrong every time, I mean it. This time, they forgot to put mash potatoes in our order. I had to make the drive back over there from my house. When I got there, explained the scenario, the Manager, Maria, literally made them go through my order. They opened the bag and the boxes to inspect, and confirm, there were no mash potatoes in there. Talk about customer service!!! As if I wanted to steal some mash potatoes. If they had just given me mash potatoes, I would have just chalked it up as yet another bad, forgotten food, experience. Maria, demanding that I be shamed, my food bags literally gone through and inspected, essentially calling me a thief, has directly resulted in this review. I won't return. I'll drive the extra distance to Leander. I run a very successful, busy, highly reviewed shop. Try the soup!!! I get food from here often and always find it hot and fresh. Never had any complaints. Today I tried the chicken and rice soup. It is amazing! I love soup and order it at just about every restaurant I go to. This soup was by far better than any that I have had in the last few years. This place is the stingiest Golden chick I've ever been to! First time I went there I realized they charge you for seasoning packets (zinc) I've never had this happen at any other GC franchise in the area. They also never ever give you condiments and if you ask for some expect 1 or 2 packets haha. The last and final time I went, I ordered a tender sandwich that comes with honey mustard sauce on it. I asked for the sauce on the side instead and the cashier added an extra charge. I asked if they charged just to put the sauce that the sandwich ALREADY comes with on the side and they confirmed that they did. I mean does the franchise owner realize how bad this makes them look?
