Very good fried chicken. And the manager was very prompt considering the large amount of business. The 2,3, & 4 piece meals come with one choice of six sides. Skip the large drink, and you can select a second side. A big bonus is the free soft serve ice cream cone that they offer. read more

I love Golden Chick but Do Not go to this location. The service was horrible. I walked in and walked straight up to the counter to order but no one, not ONE of the workers walking around came to help me or acknowledge me. The woman that was at the counter when I first walked in came around the counter and went to talk to someone at a table as I was walking up. I thought she was going to service a customer then come back but no she was just talking with a friend and ignoring me. So after just watching all the workers walking around and not getting acknowledged, I finally just walked out. I wont be back. read more

The wife and I were plenty surprised on how good this place actually was. For a quick bite to eat, you can't go wrong here. We both ordered the two piece fried chicken meal. The chicken was tasty and very moist. The mashed potatoes were good too! The Mac and cheese wasn't good, but the bread roll made up for it! Give them a try! read more

The 1st time we visited this restaurant, it was super good! The 2nd time, no. The chicken strips were very hard and tough (chicken jerkey?) Theyd obviously been pre-fried and sat under a heat lamp for awhile. So disappointing! I had CRAVED some more based on our 1st visit and took our grandkids there raving about their chicken. I don't think we'll be going back. Sad. read more

The service is great. People are smiling and are helpful. But the food has diminished over the years. The regular fried chicken is still super crispy, but the meat is flavorless. I know they have the zing packets, but I shouldn't have to rely on that for flavor. The mashed potatoes seemed watery and the gravy, which used to be one of my favorite things, is thick flour water with absolutely zero taste. What a let down. And the fries are crammed into the box and steam themselves into a soggy mess. This was probably my last time, unfortunately. At least the service was good. read more

Do you want the good or the bad stuff first? I'll go ahead and get the bad out of the way. There's Waffle House level of cleanliness and then there's this. Kid cashier was swatting flies with takeout food box. I'm pretty sure the guy mopping told him to stop, at least while I was in the drive thru. No pests detected in my grub and was hot & fresh so I'll add a star for that. read more

Great service by the employees food is super fresh hot and pretty tasty chicken I have tried different locations and this is by far the best one read more

Still the best chicken place in Texas. This location always has hot fresh food and quick service. Would recommend a million times over. Inside is also always very clean. Go here for dinner almost every Friday. read more

First time at this chain and kind of liked it. Pretty bland fried chicken, but it worked for a pretty big hunger. I ordered the two piece meal and received a TON of chicken tenders. Don't know how it was mistaken, but I was glad for the tenders. It also came with gravy. Gravy? Well, I had to try it and kind of liked it. It added the salty/peppery taste the chicken needed. Next time I'll try a different condiment than gravy, though. It also came with a fluffy role. Not a biscuit, more of a sweet croissant in a round shape. The green beans were solid comfort food while the mashed potatoes were the normal pureed version all fried chicken spots think you want. Definitely worth a return visit. read more

Crispy skin and juicy meat. This chicken is it! The skin of the chicken isn't overly coated to where as its thick like popeyes chicken. But it's crisp to perfection. It has just the right amount of seasoning. The service was great and the drive thru line went quick. The rolls, DON'T forget the rolls! Freshly baked out of the oven, soft & oh sooo good! Gives the perfect balance to accommodate the chicken. Pricing is affordable and they have family packs available. If you want some good fried chicken, this is the place! read more

The Golden Chick in kyle used to be very good. Now, you don't get what you pay for. Staff is very sweet, but the size of the chicken legs we got turned out to be more the size of very small buffalo wings. I hadn't been there in a while, and I was shocked at the taste of the food as well. It smelled weird and tasted moldy. The tea tasted like the urn hadn't been washed in a decade. I'll stick to chic fil a, where food and drinks are always fresh!! I will never and I do mean never ever go back to this location. And, the cherry on top, they don't take Apple pay. read more

Attempted to dine here on 7-9-2019 at around 1:13 PM. I waited close to 30 minutes for a JR. Catfish platter but got tired of waiting for it so I politely asked for a refund. Turns out the staff was to busy texting on their phone to submit my order through the POS system. "Manager" had to be interrupted from her break and she immediately had an attitude because the incompetent millennials working the cash register didn't know how to generate a refund. The Manger hands me my cash and walks off without giving me an apology; she might as well said, "f**k you and hope to never see you again" as that is what I took from her behavior. This place probably won't be open for more than a year with this type of "management" oversight. Ice cream machine has been broke for two months. Pathetic. read more

Golden Chick - Refund - Fast Food Near Me - Kyle, Texas

if I could give it zero stars i would.first It cost 32 dollars for a incomplete order. I was missing my corn nuggets and they didn't even give me the right order. there has been many times before where it was incorrect. I'm not one to complain but I have absolutely had it with this location in kyle off of veterans blvd . i will go to chicken express next time , the service, the speed of service and the accuracy of the order deserve 10 thumbs down read more

The staff is very nice and hard working, but the food here SUCKS!!! The wings are so salty, slimy, and not fresh. Don't waste your money. I was a fool to waste my money here. read more

Golden Chick - The bag should really say: Caution, contents may cause extreme disappointment and severe depression - Fast Food Near Me - Kyle, Texas

Satisfied once again! My pickup order was on time and correct. I'm currently grooving on their Nashville chicken sandwich! Although they were busy the girl that boxed my order was very pleasant and friendly. This is one of our favorite "don't want to cook" so what's for dinner destinations. Keep up the good work! read more

Golden Chick has some really, really good food. Whenever I need my Fried Okra fix, we head there. All of the sides we've had are good. Kids love the chicken strips... the whole family can eat for under $20. Score. My only drawback to this location is the television. I'm not an overprotective dad, really. But, I have decided that I can't eat in the dining room any longer though. Just for the simple reason that they have the News on the TV every time I've been there... and eating with my children while the news is blaring (sometimes REALLY loud) about death and destruction is not my idea of a good time. We have asked them to turn it off and/or down on a number of occasions, and they always do.. but I get tired of having to ask. I've never walked in there when the news WASN'T on... I'd rather take the food with me and not have to deal with the television. Pro: Really good food.. and I've met the owners and they are good folks. Con: News blaring on the TV..always. read more

Excellent customer service here. Sure you have to wait a while for your order, but who cares. If your inside you could clearly see them making the chicken fresh to order and beside who really wants chicken that's been sitting out for a while...not this guy. Well as for the food it's really good. I get the chicken strips here, being because it's not dry white meat chicken like other places and get them spicy too (not too spicy for the average human), pretty good let me tell ya. There is a range of sides to order from as well, can't go wrong with what you choose. And as for the rolls most order come with...yeah your probably wanna order a few more! I could definitely see me coming back to this Golden Chick again. Good job y'all! read more

Golden Chick - Fast Food Near Me - Kyle, Texas

The search continues for a decent and reliable fried chicken establishment. I had high hopes for Golden Chick, but as the saying goes, "They f___ you at the drive through!" It wasn't busy when we went there at 3pm, so I'm not sure how things went so wrong, but we were shorted one of the sides we paid for, and the 3 piece meal that was supposed to come with 1 breast, 1 thigh, and 1 drumstick, swapped out the breast for a wing. Who wants a wing? Nobody, that's who. There is NO meat on a wing! You swapped out a breast for a wing, Golden Chick? Shame on you. Add to this that the food was not hot, and tasted like it had been sitting under the lamps for a very long time. You're driving me back to KFC, Golden Chick! You OWE me a breast and some coleslaw. And that breast better be HOT, and that coleslaw better be fresh! read more

Golden Chick in Kyle has been our go to for carry out family dinners since they opened. Always the best. Until Father's Day 2021. Per our usual order we ordered 2 of the 10 piece leg and thigh order with all the sides. The thighs looked more like chicken backs, with just about as much meat. The legs were lean and dry. The potatoes had to be doctored and the the fries were not their usual crispy fries. The fried okra was closed in the box and not crispy at all. The cole slaw was ok. The fresh corn on the cob was great. Oh wait, I made that myself! This is a huge departure from our Mother's Day pick up and I don't know what has happened! Golden Chick Kyle, please get your excellent consistency of the past back on the table! read more

I've been to the Kyle Golden Chick several times in the past few years and the service has ALWAYS been below par and (a little ghetto) I've always been reluctant to go to this place due to the lack of professionalism but we love their fried chicken and at times We settled for other fried chicken restaurants for that one reason.. I haven't been in months to Golden Chick until today and the customer service was simply amazing !! this new group of guys and gals were on point in every way they made my visit pleasant and enjoyable, thanks golden chick and staff for turning this restaurant in the right direction , I'll be back soon !! read more

Had outstanding customer service here, on my last visit. I ordered a nine piece fried catfish meal, with some sides & extra rolls. The cashier was very helpful in explaining the side options, and how to get the most bang for my buck. I watched the crew work quickly, and efficiently, to fulfill every order, inside, and in drive-thru, with accuracy, and fresh products. So what, that you have to wait a little extra longer than the speed demons at the national burger chain, who package up your order that was made 10min before you even pulled up!! Do you really wanna spend your hard earned money, on chicken that was sitting around for 20min under a heat lamp, or do you want a fresh, quality product? The food was hot, and fresh when I received it, and was still too hot to eat some of it, 7 min later, when I got it home!! I don't see any issues here, and will repeat my business with them, when the mood hits! read more

Good eats. Friendly service. Love that since I'm a regular, they know my family and our orders.

Horrible management team! I have had issues the last three times I have been there and I have given them the benefit of the doubt but after this last experience I will not be returning. After a long days of work my son insisted we go to his favorite place and against my better judgment I sat in 5 o'clock traffic for almost 30mins to spend $50 for the food to be absolutely horrible! The gravy was straight water. When I called the manager he wanted me to waste more time driving back up there. I explained I didn't want my money back just for my order to be remade at a later time for the inconvenience and he stated to place the food in the fridge and bring it back another day! What ?!? They constantly put out terrible food at my inconvenience. Need a better manager who stays on his team to produce quality food. I have found hair in my food previously and had drinks left out another time which they argued with me just after leaving the drive thru if I had purchased drinks. They failed to give me my receipt and were demanding it before they would give me my two drinks that went with the 4 meals we bought. read more

I don't often post reviews, but I saw the rating for here and I am a bit surprised. I have never had a problem with the service or the food here. They are always friendly and the food has always been good. I love the fried chicken, the kids love the tenders. The food may not come out as fast as it does at McDonalds, but it always comes out fresh. If I waited and got old food I would be upset but I don't mind waiting for fresh. read more

After writing a note to corporate and speaking to the owner of this Golden Chick about his slow service, he told me he could find no issue. I suggest that he employ some secret shoppers to give him a unbiased view of the customer experience. After forgoing this place for almost a year, I decided to give it another shot. I figured that perhaps maybe things had changed. I was definitely wrong. I was the only car in the drive through lane. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich. I figured, "how hard could this be?" The young kid at the drive through took my order and was very professional. I did not see any horse playing. After he handed my my credit card, I waited and waited and waited. How long does it take for you to put a chicken salad sandwich in a bag and hand it to me, especially if I am the ONLY car in the drive though? I finally get my order. The fries are hot and fresh. That is a plus. The sandwich was flavorful. My only complaint was the little bits of chicken tendons. I am glad to see they gave me a TON of ice. What part of "easy ice" do you not understand? If I wanted ice, I would have ordered ice. I do not need to finish my soda in 3 sips of my straw. The food is good. The drive through service needs dire improvement. Thanks but I will not be back. read more

Great customer service but food does not taste good at all. First time I tried it, I did not like it. I figured I'd give it another try, and the coleslaw tasted horrible. Like it was expired. The mashed potatoes are boxed potato's, super thick. Not good at all. The chicken más really bland. Disappointed. read more

Loved the fried chicken!!! Super crispy and the meat was juicy and tender. Also loved the fries with a side of the zing sauce I think it's called. Didn't like the Mac and cheese though at all. It had a strange flavor. The yeast rolls were good! The man taking our order at the drive thru was very patient as it was our first time there and needed time to decide what we wanted. He was very nice to us when we arrived at the window as well and was smiling and seemed to enjoy his job. Overall we had a great first experience! :) read more

Service times are much better than before so updated to 4 stars. Yummy fast food, especially the rolls and catfish.

The customer service is nonexistent. I went the rough the drive through and was asked "what do you want?" this was followed up with "is that all?" All this was in a voice that made me feel as if I was putting this young man to great trouble. Never again. read more

I'm so impressed . I just stopped in here at this out of the way chicken place. Chicken was very good! I hadn't eaten today, and just ordered a Breast with 2 rolls. When I got my order, the lady ( older lady, VERY NICE) said I put you 2 breasts in your order because they were small. That ALONE wanted me to take the time and write a favorable review. How many places have you eaten at would take that into consideration? Myself ? Absolutely NONE!! WAY TO GO GOLDEN CHICK! I will definitely be back and recommend people to this place. The chicken was moist and very good. Service at this time, was STELLAR. It's Tuesday at 3:00 pm when I was there. Thank you to the employee that waited on me read more

So my husband and I eat here all the time we Like their tenders over KFC any day but Saturday night they were the worst. It was like we got the last Saturday nights tenders. Was very disappointed with it. Didn't know until we got home ( went through the drive thru) the girl taking the order couldn't understand that we wanted 2 #1 . I mean how hard is that? 2#1 with 2sweat teas? Sorry but Kyle is the worst when it comes to restaurants of any kind for service to be right or just customer service in general. read more
