I placed a $90 order with rolls, sushi, sushi and combo I asked for extra ginger, wasabi and soy sauce on each order individually, they ended up consolidating all the order and placing 2 packets of soy sauce, 2 small containers of ginger and 3 wasabi. I under stand if I ordered 1 or 2 rolls, but I spent $90 and waited over an hour. They put my baked roll with my fresh roll! Calamari roll doesn't have avocado either! This place is a disaster! Terrible food. We ordered two combination meals, the Teriyaki Chicken and the Teriyaki Beef. The combinations come with miso soup, Tempura, salad, rice, California Rolls, and Gyozas. Firstly, this is not an authentic Japanese restaurant. Secondly, the Teriyaki items come with Teriyaki sauce on the side, rather than on the meats already. The beef was dry and flavorless, much like chewing on cardboard. Thirdly, the Miso Soup was very salty. It is so salty, my entire mouth was all dry many hours after my meal. Fourthly, the Tempura was not made with panko...the way it should. It is just dipped in some thick flour batter then deep fried. Lastly, the reason why I gave this place two stars was because the servers were friendly and the portions were generous. However, I won't be back to this restaurant because the food isn't up to Japanese food standards. read more

This is one of my fave local sushi spots and I come here every few weeks or so. I have done takeout or sat at a bar or table my myself. Service is super friendly and attentive. If you sit at the bar, the chef will hand your dishes directly to you (they have a conveyor belt that they only use for wasabi/ginger!) I like the generous cuts of fish and the variety. This is my favorite place for nigiri sushi, and the fresh, delicious, thick cuts of salmon over warm rice is something I could eat all day. I like that the classic rolls come in 4 pieces, so you can order a variety of things from the menu. And the specialty rolls are creative and aren't mostly California-roll based. They have a happy hour (although it ends at 6 and is hard to make). The Alaskan and Colorado rolls are my faves. And for the quality, the prices are more than reasonable, too. Aesthetics of the restaurant and pretty eh and boring, but if you just want a casual spot for some good sushi or takeout, this place has never let me down! read more

Got the sashimi lunch special $15.95 which comes with 6 pieces of sashimi (you get to pick 2 from salmon, tuna, or halibut), salmon skin salad, 1 shrimp and 3 veggie tempura pieces, miso soup and a bowl of rice. Miso soup came out first and was perfect. Then I got a bowl of rice and the tempura. The shrimp and veggies were good quality but the tempura batter wasn't fried enough to give it the usual crunch you want and the sauce was a bit light in flavor. The salmon skin in the salad could have been crunchier but there was a good amount in the salad which was nice but it also needed either more or a stronger dressing. I prefer my sashimi thin sliced so I actually ended up with 12 pieces instead of the normal 6 fat slices. The fish was very fresh and delicious and I loved the presentation. The staff was excellent. They were quick, efficient and friendly. I'll be back to try out other items on the menu. read more

A friend and I arrived on a Saturday afternoon and expected way more people to be getting food but it seems that it gets more full towards 1:00-2:00pm. I ordered the Soft Shell Crab roll and Hawaiian roll and will say they were both excellent. Not only was the place cozy but it was extra accommodating with a revolving sushi belt and chefs within to pass you your food. While there, our waiter was extra attentive even when more people started flooding in. I would definitely recommend folks to come and grab a roll if they need a quick sushi fix. read more

Today's experience was a little less satisfying than my last. As I arrived, the ONLY server of the restaurant was having a conversation with who looked like the owner of the restaurant. There was one other table in there and that was it. The food came out fast (i assume its because its extremely slow). The sushi chef was also on his phone. The fried tofu came out the latest because the server was too busy talking. Anyway, they serve the tofu in large pieces that its so hard to eat and the tofu they use is not the greatest. IF I COULD GIVE NO STARS I WOULD! VERY RUDE OWNER WHO HARASSED ME IN FRONT MY MY CHILD AND YOUNG NIECES! So I came here with my seven-year-old son, and my cousin and her kids. I am from the Bay Area and I asked for a delicious place to get sushi. Our server was very nice, it was a male server, but I don't know his name. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl for my son and the first issue that happened was I was told I couldn't get the lunch price even though I had ordered it before 3 PM. My server went and spoke with some manager woman, and then came back and said "our system has already switched over and we cannot give you the lunch price" OK fine. I said it's OK. We can go ahead and order it. When the chicken came, my son said it had a weird taste. So I tried one of the chicken pieces, and it tasted very charred/burnt. It was pretty inedible. I told the server nicely that it tasted burnt and could we go ahead and order a roll instead, he then again said he had to ask his manager who was the same woman. He came back over and said yes, we can do that for you and took the chicken bowl away. Two minutes later, the manager woman comes aggressively running over to me and starts telling me that she tried my chicken dish that I sent back and said that there was nothing wrong with it, and that is how the chicken is supposed to taste, and if I were to ever come back and order that plate, she would not let me switch it out again. Very weird... And she seemed really angry. Anyways, being on vacation I didn't really want to get into any sort of altercation with her, so I just told her that I probably wouldn't order that dish again if it tasted that way, so she doesn't need to worry about that. And thanks for letting me switch out the meal. Mind you she never came over and introduced herself or was nice. She just came over and wanted to Argue with me about the flavor of the chicken. After we ate the rolls which were good, and we had no complaints about, I asked for my bill. Upon receiving my bill I noticed that the chicken dish was still there. I called the server back over and told him that he didn't remove the chicken, but in fact removed the sushi roll. I know the manager probably did this because the sushi was cheaper than the chicken, and she already had some weird grudge against me for returning the chicken. So he went to go fix the bill and she comes running back over extremely aggressive. Mind you, I have been in the service industry for 20+ years. I am never rude to wait staff, and I have the upmost respect for workers in the service industry. She started condescendingly telling me that she's sorry that I feel this way, but they had made the chicken and it needs to remain on the bill. I then told her we did not eat the chicken, I do not have the chicken, and you guys took the chicken back, therefore, I will not be paying for it. She went totally crazy on me. She was yelling, screaming, saying I was the most rude customer she's ever encountered and that she's never experienced this before and that every time she goes out to eat she pays for everything she orders. Super unprofessional! I explained to her that I have been a server for a very long time and it wasn't Uncommon for a customer to not like a dish and send it back. I still kept my composure because she was looking super crazy, even her own employees were looking at her like she was in the wrong. I have never been yelled at or harassed by a manager in a restaurant ever! The plate was just not good and I paid for everything else, and enjoyed everything else. She took it as a personal attack or something. She then proceeded to tell me she was not going to take it off the bill, and that she should go and put the sushi roll on the bill too, and make me pay for everything! Mind you I probably wouldn't have even really cared about the chicken being on and the sushi taken off but I knew she was doing it to be rude to me. I then told her I'm sorry, I will not be paying for the chicken, you're being extremely rude to me, you're scaring the kids that are with me, and you have everybody staring at us in this restaurant. She then said I was wasting her time, took the check from me and went ahead and took the chicken off. When she came back, she stared at me and waited for me to pay it. Super insane! I don't even leave yelp reviews because I've been a server for so long and I don't feel like yelp does a restaurant justice, but this lady was totally crazy and totally money hungry and cared more about a $10 difference on a check than respecting her customer. Mind you, my cousin is a long time regular of the sushi place- and now she won't be coming back either. This lady needs to go to therapy. Worst customer service ever! read more

Gluten-free friends, you are allergic to: teriyaki, tempura, imitation crab, marinated meats and fish, most salads, salad dressings, udon, ramen, marinated vegetables, unagi, (eel) soy sauce, barley-based miso soup etc. When it comes to Japanese food, the pickings are slim:-( It is not all bad though! What is left? Sashimi, and rice. Thank goodness for sashimi! Hurray! One for the team! The $2. cut rolls (served all day) are a great bargain here. The yellow tail and the salmon avocado rolls are my favorites so far. These are small rolls, think quarter sized. 1/3 ratio fish to sushi rice, four pieces per order. (four stars) Sushi rice is gluten-free. Ingredients: sushi grade rice, rice vinegar and sugar. That's it. No California rolls gluten free friends! Imitation crab and most veggie or imitation products are made from a wheat base and are off limits. Just raw fish and rice for you! -Yum.... Raw fish..... where was I? Oh yeah. Thanks a lot Daniel! My favorite thing to order here is the salmon hand roll. (ten stars stars) A HUGE portion of large rectangle slices of very good quality salmon, avocado and cucumber. Think 1/3 parts rice and the size of a large taco in weight. The roasted seaweed quality is very good here and has a little crunch to it. -My favorite kind. Go go is Located on the north side of Colorado between Allen and San Gabriel Blvd. in a very happening mini mall lot with ample free parking. You will be greeted warmly each time you come. (available at Asian grocery stores like 99 ranch $3.) Ignore the conveyor belt rotating around the sushi bar. Why is it in operation? I do not know! But do NOT grab the sushi from the conveyor belt friends! It is fake! Ha ha! I tried to the first time I came! Most of the Americanized rolls are forbidden to me with the exception of Philadelphia rolls which are are Okay as long as they use Philadelphia-brand cream cheese. (a certified gluten-free product at the time of this review write on the Kraft food website) Which reminds me of a gluten free recipe for those following the gluten-free element of this review.:-)This crust-less gluten -free, soy-free cheesecake with fresh slices of fruit is a nice after bite post the very good sushi at Go go. Mix 1 pound, 8 oz of room-temperature Philadelphia-brand cream cheese cheese, 5 eggs,1 tsp vanilla, the zest from one Meyer lemon, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1 cup sugar and 1/4 cup honey until creamy and smooth.
