2/13/26 I Love this place! I've been going here since they opened and have never had a bad experience. Sometimes they can get very busy and service slows down a little but they really put in a solid effort to keep up. They are under new management and I like the improvements so far. This was our Valentine dinner (3rd year in a row) and it was excellent. We started with the Broiled Mussels. This has been one of our favorites for many years and we were a little surprised that they had changed it up.....and made them even better. The Mussels are huge, very tender and now topped with Scallops and Roe. Wow! Much, much better! I am a huge Unagi fan and this was incredible! A bigger portion than before and so incredibly tender and full of flavor! We finished the night with a beautiful order of Bluefin Tuna. Oh my God.....unbelievably delicious! I'm on the fence and a bit confused stepping through the door. It wasn't that long ago me and my sons came here and now it appears they have changed ownership. The last ownership had a certain personable charm to the place and they remembered their customers. Inside is a bit more decorative, lots of blinking light ropes. I do like blinkies. The music is fine as well. Again, nothing negative on the new ownership, I'm just thrown off a bit by the change. I guess in all fairness a new ownership deserves a chance. On first impression though, I'm a bit disappointed as for years when coming here I would get a lobster roll, which is no longer available. I defaulted to bento boxes of all things, which I have never ordered something like that. The menu was mostly text but I can read. Prior establishments menu was highly visual. It's also now canned soft drinks and a glass of ice, budget, where prior was from fountain and there were refills. I'm sure the cost and hassle of soda fountain was likely why the change. The food was ok but I didn't finish it. The fish was ok but a little dry, the dumplings were deep fried, I'm on the fence with regard to their tempura shrimp, salad was good. Not forced to eat here by any means but I feel I had to settle for something rather than being able to order a favorite. Such is life. There is nothing at all wrong with the restaurant, I'm just unclear if I would return here over other sushi places in Pasadena. I normally went out of my way for Go Go Sushi. Someone please explain to me why have a conveyor belt for food and drinks to be delivered and not use it?! This was just the first tip off that this place is not trying, the food was next. I guess I should have known that any All You Can Eat place is going to have lower quality fish. Stupid me. It was not great cuts of salmon, sushi or escolar. The escolar carpaccio was drowning in a sweet sticky sauce. Yuck. Then we got a mango sexy roll or something and it was chunky and the mango was inside the roll with the crab which overpowered the mango. All of it was just meh. Maybe our expectations were too high in the first place, but we won't be back. We'll go to Kura next time. read more

Went here on a Friday night with a group of 6. We were seated around 7:40 PM and at first we understood the wait since it was busy. It took around 20 minutes to get appetizers and 2 sushi plates, which was acceptable. But after that, service became extremely slow. We waited about 45 minutes just for 6 pieces of sushi to come out. We continued waiting while no other orders came out, and eventually they brought back our order sheet only for us to realize that almost half of the items we ordered were never brought to us. By this point, we had already been there for over 2 hours. When we told them we wanted to leave because of the excessive wait and missing food, instead of resolving the issue they tried to convince us to place another order. The only positive thing was that they gave us an additional discount on top of their promo, but that only happened because we specifically asked what they could do about the bill after the poor experience. I understand restaurants get busy on Friday nights, but waiting over 2 hours with missing orders and little communication is unacceptable. Very disappointing experience overall. read more

I really enjoyed go go. I went at 3pm and I had the place to myself. The waitress and I had a really great conversation, she was super nice. I ordered the lobster crab roll and it was amazing. James the sushi chef and Grace the waitress were so kind! James was incredibly generous and gave me his chef's special so I could taste it and maybe order it next time. I asked for a custom salmon hand roll and he happily made it for me, even plating it with a cute little bug made from an orange. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. Such a great experience! 10/10 sushi spot! Sushi is always fresh and tasty!! The flavors are always well-balanced and service is always quick and friendly. This has become a new favorite sushi spot even compared to more popular restaurants. I usually like to sit at the sushi bar in front of rotating belt you can see the chefs preparing plates. Service is always quick and very attentive. I like to order the salmon sashimi it's always cut thick and tastes very fresh. Along with the salmon, all the sashimi is very tasty. I liked it. Decent neighborhood sushi spot. Came in for a dinner with a friend after a class. Simple interior with plenty of seating. Plenty of seats along the rotating sushi bar, which apparently they don't use lol, at least while we were there. We got the eel special roll. I liked it, good size too. My friend got the tuna avocado and yellow tail cut rolls and said they were good and hit the spot if you're looking for a nice, simple roll. We also got the stuffed jalapenos. I liked those, they're like fancier jalapeno poppers. The menu is pretty big with sushi, bento, and rice bowls so I'll definitely be coming back to try more. They also have a happy hour 11:30a-3p so this would probably be a good spot to grab lunch too. Service was good. Friendly staff. Easy parking in the shopping center lot. read more

I visited Go Go Sushi on 5/8/26 for AYCE with some friends and had a genuinely bad experience. We waited over 3 hours for our food, and by the time we had to leave, much of what we ordered still never came out. I could detail every issue, but instead I'd rather provide feedback directly because it's clear the restaurant has some major operational issues that need attention: * Create a real process for taking orders, sending them to the chefs, tracking what has been made, and tracking what has actually made it to the table. Right now it appeared to be one person manually reading the AYCE paper, inputting it into a receipt, and handing it off to the chefs. That system clearly breaks down under volume. * Give the kitchen a way to validate what has been completed and what still hasn't. Whether that's pens to mark dishes off, tickets, or a digital system; something needs to exist. * Create a better system for identifying which dishes go to which tables. Every times staff seemed to have to ask the chefs where plates were supposed to go. * The AYCE order sheet should be printed larger or redesigned. Staff seemed to struggle reading what was ordered and inputting it correctly. * Train employees on the menu. It was clear there was confusion around what rolls were what, both in the kitchen and on the floor. * Customer service basics matter: refill waters, clear tables, communicate with each other, and check in with guests, especially when service is running behind. * Food quality had potential, but consistency was lacking. Portion sizes and cuts varied noticeably from plate to plate. * Make sure people are playing to their strengths. It felt like some employees were put into roles they weren't equipped or trained for, which created more chaos. * And please don't yell at employees over the heads of customers. Most importantly: when service breaks down this badly, own it. If customers are sitting for hours without food, come to the table, apologize, communicate what's happening, and offer some form of reconciliation. Ignoring customers when things go wrong only makes the experience worse. There's potential here, but after this experience, there's clearly a lot that needs to be fixed read more

They have a moving conveyor belt at the sushi bar that reminds me of the Covid-killed Sushi Afloat in West Pasadena on the same street (Colorado Blvd.) I tried the Soju liqueur that @KenAbroad was treated to in Seoul Korea and I liked it. RIP GoGo sushi. While the renovation is nice, the menu has totally changed. We were overwhelmed. The quality at best is supermarket sushi. The veggie tempura was not light and oily. Never got my water refilled. At the bar, we were offered oranges to end our meal and declined. Gloved hands that were handling raw fish will not be serving me oranges. No sir, thank you. So incredibly sad that GoGo Sushi has changed ownership!! This was my favorite go to sushi spot for over 4 years. I had so many delicious meals and good times here- brought my entire family and friends. My kids and I visited pretty regularly every month, all the chefs and servers knew us. Spent birthdays, Christmas, graduation celebrations and so much more at the old GoGo. The menu was huge, amazing fish quality, music was always great and the decorations inside were beautiful and colorful traditional Japanese art. I was greeted by name each time I came in by both the chefs and servers because I went so often! Unfortunately, none of that is true anymore. The stripped the whole place of any color, everything is black and beige now with only one piece of art left on the back wall. They changed the menu completely and the food was honestly really not good. My sons enjoyed their kitchen food- beef teriyaki and tempura, but everything else from the rolls to the miso soup was terrible. They don't use silken tofu but the cheaper option of "soft" tofu which is porous for the soup now and that's a big pet peeve of mine when it comes to a sushi place. I typically get all raw when I used to go, but I asked if they use the same fish vendor and since they didn't I got a roll. It was called Crab and lobster roll and there was a picture of it on the menu with a whole lobster tail on top. Well- it was in fact crawfish despite advertising lobster and being one of the most expensive things on the menu. My daughter always got an eel special roll but they didn't have it anymore so she stuck with a basic cali roll and said they didn't even get that right. The service was good still but I don't see why they got rid of literally everyone that worked there before? Maybe they just didn't want to work at such a mediocre spot after being used to working at the best restaurant ever for so long!!! Even the music sucks now ugh! I literally cried on the way home because of how much I'm going to miss GoGo!! even as I'm writing this review all of the suggested photos are the food I've gotten there in the past a picture of my little sister smiling there! The Food WAS always amazing.. the service WAS always impeccable, the ambience WAS always calm. ITS NOW "MODERN CHIC SUSHI" Sat down right away But it took 15 min to get a menu.. another 15min to get our order placed.another 10 min to get our soda alone. Another 25 min to get our food. People were walking out left and right stating the same thing "we haven't received the menu ... we've been waiting 30 min and no one has taken our order" Food came out ... mediocre sushi. Really enjoyed the sushi here. The salmon skin roll was stellar - filled with crunchy meaty pieces. Maybe the best I've ever had. The eel nigiri was excellent. The portion of hamachi was generous and tasty. The California roll was good - what you expect. I had the Yummy Crispy - it was interesting but not my favorite. I loved the combination of dressed fish on the crispy wonton but it just wasn't my cup of tea. Excellent service. We've been coming to Go Go since we moved to Pasadena 3.5 years ago and love it more each time we go. Yes, they've recently changed their ownership and made adjustments to the menu and deco, but the service and overall quality didn't miss a beat. The crispy rice is exceptional, as are all of their rolls. Tonight, the blue fin was exceptional. The Sushi Chef, James, is not only an artist but a genuinely lovely person and impressed us with his creativity and kindness. We will absolutely be back to eat more of James' sushi and continue supporting an incredible business here in Pasadena. read more

Under new management. So disappointing. This has been our go to spots for 11+ years, and tonight I paid almost $100 for what tasted like 7 Eleven sushi. I didn't know that they had changed owners so I was very surprised to walk in and see that not only had the environment changed, but so did their menu. I ordered what was labeled as "old menu" items and was devastated by what I was given. Memories of after work meet ups, countless date nights, late night picks up... gone. We walked in thinking it was the old GoGo Sushi, but it is under new management. They kept the name GoGo Sushi. Though we missed our old GoGo which we go to for years and miss our old servers, we gave this new GoGo a try. We liked the food. My husband who eats sushi liked the food, and I loved the teriyaki and tempura. The muscle is delicious. The servers, Angie and Grace were a delight and very friendly. This place is a bit pricey and the food is just decent. I ordered the chicken teriyaki rolls, unfortunately, the teriyaki chicken/ & sauce was cold. The chicken and the sauce are usually hot. I did not like the taste of the teriyaki sauce. In the past, I have ordered their Vegas rolls and they are good. It's a quick place to go for lunch or dinner if in the area. The service is satisfactory but the ambiance is outdated. The lighting is dim with an old-time style dining look. I never eat inside because I do not like the aura. Sitting at the sushi bar would probably be the best spot if I did sit inside because it has a cool roller-moving table with sushi on it. They have a big menu to choose from with specialty items and drinks. Abundant parking in the parking lot or on the street. Indoor seating only. read more

This has been the best sushi spot for over 10 years. I walked in today to new ownership and it was AWFUL!!! I got up and walked out. I offered to pay, numerous attempts, but, she was very kind and said no. When ordering a lobster roll, I expected a Cali roll with lobster on top as always, or usual. No California roll, very small amount of rolls and lobster. And a salad with fried oysters...yeah, if I wanted oysters, I would have ordered them. Good luck to the new owners. Service is always nice and helpful. I really like their miso soup and steamed edamame. Place is cozy, cute and traditional with fair prices. Will return + I recommend if you are in the mood for sushi. read more
