Had a date night here and we were seated right away. Was really excited when I seen the conveyor belt because I've really missed having a floating sushi spot in Pasadena. Bummer, the belt was running but not actually for sushi. I'm guessing there wasn't enough demand to keep it going? Other than that, my bento box was good... fresh and a good value. I did notice a lot of signage about new ownership, but this was my first visit so I can't compare it to before. Overall, solid spot. Adding it to our regular sushi rotation.

Pleasantly surprised by this sushi place, the experience was really great. The quality of the ingredients is good and everything was very delicious. They have a conveyor belt for added fun but most of the time they just bring you the dishes. The portions are big and prices are fair. Staff are very friendly and hard working, interior is beautifully decorated and clean.

We were just passing by and saw this place. The food is affordable and delicious. I had the bento katsu chicken and it's the perfect portion. My husband and son enjoyed the variety of sushi they ordered.

I really enjoyed go go. I went at 3pm and I had the place to myself. The waitress and I had a really great conversation, she was super nice. I ordered the lobster crab roll and it was amazing. So much flavor. I could be wrong but there might have been crawfish in the roll as well. It was exactly what I needed. I would recommend this place and will be back

James the sushi chef and Grace the waitress were so kind! James was incredibly generous and gave me his chef's special so I could taste it and maybe order it next time. I asked for a custom salmon hand roll and he happily made it for me, even plating it with a cute little bug made from an orange. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. Such a great experience! Will come again next time I'm in the area I HIGHLY recommend the Crispy Rice with Tuna. Delicious!!

10/10 sushi spot! Sushi is always fresh and tasty!! The flavors are always well-balanced and service is always quick and friendly. This has become a new favorite sushi spot even compared to more popular restaurants. I usually like to sit at the sushi bar in front of rotating belt you can see the chefs preparing plates. Service is always quick and very attentive. I like to order the salmon sashimi it's always cut thick and tastes very fresh. Along with the salmon, all the sashimi is very tasty. The double-double roll is my favorite! Along with a Kirin beer! Great sushi restaurant it's a hidden gem.

So glad we found this place so close to our home. Been having a mad craving for sushi and they more than took care of it. Definitely recommend the tiger roll and rainbow roll. So fresh and delicious. We will be going back quite often.

I liked it. Decent neighborhood sushi spot. Came in for a dinner with a friend after a class. Simple interior with plenty of seating. Plenty of seats along the rotating sushi bar, which apparently they don't use lol, at least while we were there. We got the eel special roll. I liked it, good size too. My friend got the tuna avocado and yellow tail cut rolls and said they were good and hit the spot if you're looking for a nice, simple roll. We also got the stuffed jalapenos. I liked those, they're like fancier jalapeno poppers. The menu is pretty big with sushi, bento, and rice bowls so I'll definitely be coming back to try more. They also have a happy hour 11:30a-3p so this would probably be a good spot to grab lunch too. Service was good. Friendly staff. Easy parking in the shopping center lot.

My 2nd time here and I'll be back again. Good service. Knowledgeable staff. They have a moving conveyor belt at the sushi bar that reminds me of the Covid-killed Sushi Afloat in West Pasadena on the same street (Colorado Blvd.) I tried the Soju liqueur that @KenAbroad was treated to in Seoul Korea and I liked it. I also had shrimp tempura, Salmon sushimi, and smelt egg. The ambiance is very nice for parties.

Food was amazing! We ordered 4 different rolls and each one was delicious. The rolls were fresh. The place was very clean, nicely decorated and service was excellent. Definitely will be back! We found our new sushi spot

The ownership changed and it became much more upscale. It's delicious.

They have multiple locations across the Southern California area including this one near Old Town Pasadena. They do not reservations and you wait in line until there are open seats for your party. We came at around 6pm on a Friday evening and were seated immediately for a party of two. When we left at around 7pm there was a long line waiting so I recommend coming earlier. I recommend coming with a smaller party. They have different presets of hand rolls by count (3 to 6) where 6 is the most popular. The chef hands each roll to you individually and you're expected to eat it immediately to ensure the seaweed is crisp and the rice is warm. I got the 6-hand roll set ($29) which included toro, yellowtail, salmon, bay scallop, crab, and lobster. My favorites were the salmon, bay scallop, and crab. I also got the eel hand roll ($5.75) which was also good. If you want to be surprised, there's The Nozie which is their omakase style 6 hand roll set.

There are a number of small boutique stores located here. This Japanese restaurant was a great find when I was out walking. I was actually going to pick up some food at another place. I read some of the reviews to get an idea of what to expect and was pleased to find that the food here is very good. This is a takeout only restaurant. They cater and also Chef Maezaki teaches sushi techniques in the surrounding area. I entered the front door and walked to the large counter. I was greeted with a smile and a friendly hello. I asked a number of questions and realized that I must be talking to Chef Maezakl. He showed me the menu. He also showed me specials that they were offering. After taking some time I decided to order the special wagyu beef entree, and a spicy tuna hand roll. I sat down in one of the chairs available and waited. I could smell great aromas from the food being prepared in the kitchen. I was happy when my food arrived about 15 minutes later. I could sense his pride in what he had prepared for me. I enjoyed the complete dinner that was the wagyu beef entree. There was rice, pickled cucumber, California roll sushi, a special piece of fried chicken, and chicken gyoza. It came in a perfectly packed & arranged container, ready to eat. I'm happy to say the taste translated to a great experience in dining. The marinated beef was tender and flavorful. The chicken was moist tender with a crisp exterior. The cucumber salad was bright and refreshing. The fresh sushi was a nice touch. I went back another time to try the cold chicken ramen, a three piece chicken appetizer, and the tiramisu. I was happy with the fresh flavor of the vegetables in the ramen. It was a nice change. All I can say about the tiramisu is that it has an addicting flavor! I can't wait to have it again. It's nice that the parking lot accommodates all the small boutique businesses. There has always been plenty of parking when I was there. This shopping area with its boutique stores is a good find. I look forward to my experience at CM Ghost Kitchen.

Ambiance is super cute, love the little flags over the sushi/shabu bar and the art on the walls adds to the Japanese restaurant feel. The aroma when you walk in is mouthwatering (I was really hungry) but it doesn't smell fishy like some sushi places can. Staff is unbelievably great, super friendly and helpful if you have any questions about the menu or want recommendations. Don't be afraid to ask what the MP is on omakase, they totally work with what you're looking to spend or based on how many pieces of sushi you want to eat. Now for the real reason to visit Osawa: the food is absolutely amazing!!! Fresh, tasty, perfectly portioned. From the shishito peppers appetizer to the sushi, sashimi, hand rolls, and shabu; I cannot recommend this place enough! They have plenty of sake options to pair with your meal as well as beer or specialty cocktails if that's your preference. They offer to explain your order when it arrives which is great for those newer to sushi or just trying something different. Seriously, some of those fish practically melt in your mouth. I personally haven't ordered any rolls yet but they absolutely look delicious. If you're looking for a good sushi date spot, this. is. it. It's also good for a small group, maybe up to five or so before you feel cramped. Shabu is seated at the bar and their meats and veggie are delicious and fresh, enhanced by the tasty broth. After more than a year away, I decided to give Osawa another try on May 8, 2026. Unfortunately, the experience confirmed why I had stopped coming. Around 9:02 p.m., my waiter came by to ask for last orders. I ordered chicken karaage. This is a simple dish that usually comes out in about 4 to 5 minutes. For whatever reason, the order did not arrive until around 9:26 p.m. -- almost 25 minutes later. It seemed obvious that the order had been forgotten. When the karaage finally arrived, it looked hastily sauced. Several parts of the chicken were unsauced, which is not how the dish was normally served in the past. Given the delay and the apparent mishandling, I did not touch the dish. A Japanese male manager wearing glasses then came over. He recognized me, and I explained that I had not been back for more than a year because of the food poisoning incident from fish in 2025. Instead of responding seriously, the manager smiled and giggled slightly, then launched into an irrelevant conversation about his connections in the Japanese food industry in Old Town Pasadena. When he asked why I had not touched the chicken, I explained the almost 30-minute delay and the problems with the dish. Rather than comping the item or offering a real apology, the manager asked whether I still wanted to eat it or would prefer to cancel it. He then ended the conversation by suggesting that I come in during weekday lunch for the $18 lunch specials. That response was bizarre and tone deaf. I did not return after a food poisoning incident to hear a sales pitch about lunch specials. I returned as a longtime customer giving Osawa another chance. Osawa's way of doing business has changed a lot. I've seen better customer service at Erewhon.

She only got miso soup and not the salad though. Food was pretty good. I did get a stomachache later but I think maybe it was just too much fried food or I just ate too much cause the fish tasted fine when I was there. I just note this cause I dislike having just one bathroom for a fairly mid size restaurant. We also walked here so I'm not sure about the parking situation but I didn't see a lot so I'm guessing street parking on green or Wilson is what you'll have to do. The only other downside was that the couldn't do separate checks which always sucks in a group setting.
