Stay away from this GNC place. There are two other GNC's nearby with far better customer service. One of the sales person here by the name of Gabriel, is annoyingly aggressive with pushing you to get GNC Pro Access, the paid tier, where you get slightly better perks. He had attempted to do this with two other visits I did. One with my mother, one time I was alone, he was just as aggressive then. Today when I walked in with my mother, I saw this dude once again and I mentally prepared myself to reject him and be firmer and more aggressive if need be to, drive my point across. I was kind in rejecting him (my parents were also) before this, not this time if he chooses to try that again. Behold, one again he attempted at it and before my mother had said anything in her broken English, I intervened and declined it. I explained that he had done this twice before and just as aggressive. He goes on to explain how he is trying saving us money and all that nonsense. We know how many times we shop at GNC, and how much we tend to spend. We do not need GNC Pro Access nor do we care for it. I type everything down on Excel, believe me, you won't lie to me and think I don't know. There are rare occasions where we buy that much vitamins that GNC Pro would come into play. We don't go through 180 pills of Vitamin C in a month, use your brain. He tried to accuse me of being disrespectful. No, being disrespectful is asking someone to buy into GNC Pro when we declined NUMEROUS times before. Being disrespectful is not taking your customer's "No" answer as a No. When we said "No", that means No. Not, lets keep asking another 3-4 times (each visit) in hopes we change our mind. I asked my mother her answer to it in Mandarin, which she said, "No." (Huge surprise I know). Also, don't leave the little caveat of GNC Pro is a PAID tier all the way at the end. Terrible customer service. I needed some super beets for my circulation so I came to this GNC that is very convenient next to my work. So I grabbed it and went to the front desk to pay. I noticed there was nobody there so I asked the Asian sale representative if there was another cashier who could charge me. With a very high tone of voice he said "I'll be there in a sec" but kept ignoring me so I left the bag of super beets there and I left. GNC should retrain him on good customer service and prioritize which is best for business. His bad attitude made him loose a transaction and more transactions in the near future. For a store that closes at 9pm according to both its company website AND Apple Maps, they sure don't hesitate to deny people almost an hour prior to that. Around 8:15-8:20ish I came by (due to my schedule) and was denied because, "I'm taking my 30 min lunch and two 10-minute breaks." ??? Excuse me, WHAT??! I use to come to GNC for vitamins, protein, etc. However, during my last couple of visits, I will never return. This location is inside the Santa Anita (Arcadia) Mall. The store itself is a little messy. I've been to many other shops like Vitamin Shoppe and they're weren't this messy. When I first arrived, there were a few employees standing around and one at the counter. None of them acknowledged me when I walked in. This was no problem for me because I'd rather walk in and get what I want. Also, I didn't want sales people harassing me to buy everything in the store. However, I had a question about the product that I was looking at. When I turned around, there was no one in sight. That is horrible for business. Plus, the prices of their products were probably $20 more than other of the other places I later visited. I was looking for some protein (Gold Standard). Here at GNC, they were selling 2 pound for $49.99 for non-members and $45.70 for members. On Amazon, you can buy 5 pounds for $57.50 or $53.50 at 24 hour fitness. GNC is ridiculously over priced. I don't recommend this place because their products are overpriced and they have poor customer service! read more

I'm pretty sure they're running a credit card fraud scam in this store. System was down so the card couldn't be swiped even after many times. Card was only used here. Long story short, 1-800 number called the next day saying they're from BofA and asked for Name/last four/CC number/exp date/cvc. Well, no one would ever ask for any of those info (except name and last four) unless they had malicious intent. I provided them a fake Chase BIN with some bullshit info and they said they found my account. Yeah no, she was probably writing it down. I called the lady out on her scam and she stopped responding to my repeated calls after she hung up. They seem to be making quite a bit of money from the scam judging from the call-center and the people they hire. Don't go here. read more

Prices are expensive... Discounts aren't really discounts. They catch your attention by advertising buy one get one free or buy one get one 50% off. But these discounts are really only for the gnc supported brands that the employees are asked to sell more than the other brands. Employees are extra pushy on those brands and don't really seem knowledgable. From the employees I've met at this location they aren't really attentive to customers who walk in. You could be the only customer in there and you probably wouldn't even get a hello. The pros is the store is really organized and it's easy to find your way since you probably won't get any assistance from the employees. read more

I went in there after work approx 6:45pm. The Santa Anita mall was prettty empty. When i walked into there were no other customers inside and the 2 workers were just standing around talking. I went straight to the men's section and picked up to items. I then walked to the back to pick up a bottle of CLA. I had 3 items in my hand and noticed a short asian worker following me. I walked to the wall that had the digestive support items and this guy went around the shelves and blocked me from going to the end of the shelf, the entrance to the store is about 3 feet away.. I asked what he was doing and he said "just standing here" I felt, by this time that he was thinking that i was going to shoplift. I'm hispanic maybe he thought we are all criminals. I usually purchase my vitamins from the Monrovia location but wanted to try this location due to the selection. I have been purchasing from GNC for over 10 years. I came here two times, for the free shaker promotion from Facebook. The first time I came to the store presenting a school ID the manager said it has to be a college ID. I informed him the deal will end in a couple of days. But coming out from mouth he tells me that it will last for another month. So I came back today (2 days later) and talked to the same manager, he wouldn't help me out saying that the promotion expired. Basically he lied to me and gave me a rude attitude. Honestly I was disappointed from the service he provided especially from the manager, who is suppose to have more experience and knowledge than the regular worker. Johnston was the employee that helped us out in the store today. Even though he was new he made the visit very pleasant and the bf and I walked out of there with vitamins and products we could take for our active lifestyle. He was as informative as he could be with the products that we asked about so that was great. He was also very friendly (not pushy) and could hold a conversation, not making it uncomfortable or awkward like at other GMC stores I've been at. Definitely will be back!
