I've come twice to do the free bodyscan weigh-ins. I find the staff here to be very knowledgeable, kind, and non-judgemental. When I have questions, they're eager to help me find the right supplement for my workout, but have never tried to hardsell me. Unexpectedly came to Nutrishop as I was informed I can get a body scan! Met the owner, Angel and he was super nice and informative. He assisted me with getting the body scan then broke down the readings for me. Luckily, I came on one of the last days of their 8-weeks challenged so I hopped on it! I mean I'm already trying to get into the best shape, why not join a challenge that will motivate me even more right? Angel gave me suggestions and recommendations on products, gave me some samples but did not try to hard sell me. I was referred to Nutrishop by my trainer at Basecamp Fitness. I have been obsessed with my fitness journey this past year. However, I was getting discouraged as I could not keep track of my progress without a smart scale. I wasn't able to keep track whether I was moving toward my goals. This is where Bryan and Nutrishop comes in Parking: Shared parking in a busy plaza. Across from Walgreens and inside the plaza of Plate 38. You can also find free parking on the street This place has amazing customer service and have great selections of nutritional supplements. You can go to lots of places to buy nutritional supplements and vitamins, but I would come here because you have a certified nutritionist (Bryan-owner) on site. He works with lots of people doing weight training and from cross fit. Bryan will take the time to get to know you and see what type of goals you have set forth for yourself. He will recommend products to optimize your fitness journey, however, he is not pushing products at all. He actually offered me few free products to try and even gave me a free shaker on my first day. All I wanted to do on my first day was to weight in. I have been coming here for weekly weight in. I am happy with the products I purchase. Every time I weight in, my result is uploaded to an app called FitManager, this reminds me of goals I set for myself. Would I come back? I am usually here once or twice a month! Come here if you need to stock up on your supplements, protein bars or ask for advice. Bryan is very knowledgeable about his products and offers you various amounts of samples and insight of what you will need on your fitness journey. He treats his customers like how any business should treat their customers, that's why we keep on coming back. I have tried their protein powders, BCAA, Thermonade and protein bars and would recommend it to any of my friends. If you go to their store, they offer the Inbody test that measures your bodies stats. This is a great store to go to for anyone from various fitness levels. TERRIBLE new owners, TERRIBLE customer service. As a trainer, I must review this location and inform others. This Nutrishop used to be an awesome, community-friendly business. Like other Nutrishops, there were complimentary InBody readings, courtesy to trainers, clients, customers, etc. Bryan was welcoming and friendly to everyone who came in- as you can see, all of the positive reviews speaking highly of Bryan. I have had a few interactions here since new ownership took over, Manny was friendly but was definitely a little unclear/confusing on some things. Then I went in and met the new owners and it all made sense. These new owners are extremely inappropriate, rude, condescending, off-putting, and overall TERRIBLE at operating a customer-facing business. Only a month earlier, I was still coming in to this location with my clients and using InBody, just like I had done for the last 2 years and so many other trainers did. Without informing me at all that they had changed policy, the new owner began speaking to me as if I was disrespecting his business by using the InBody without purchasing anything. He went on to speak in an extremely condescending manner about running a business, saying "he doesn't take clients to my business" to take things for free or something like that. I did not once argue to use the InBody, I simply expressed that this is the way it has been done for years and I didn't know about the new policy. If they could have simply informed me, I would easily follow the rule. But for some reason this guy could not just talk rationally. My client asked if she could just pay to use the machine- seeing as what a problem this was. He ended up letting her just use the machine. Afterwards, he proceeded to explain the results which is also unnecessary being that this was my client. As the last review said, it felt like a weird sales pitch to show that he was most knowledgeable and honestly it felt like he was trying to prove something. He spoke of making a meal plan which- if anyone doesn't know- is illegal for personal trainers to do unless you are a nutrition professional. My client said that this was all so off-putting that she wouldn't even consider coming here to buy supplements. I am definitely not coming back again, ever, and I'm informing all trainers and clients I know to not come here either. It's really sad and unfortunate what these new owners are doing to this business, which as you can see had a really great following and community vibe. By the way, after I left I called up another Nutrishop just to see if I hadn't known about an overall policy change, and they still had InBody assessments available for free just as always. The owner at the Pasadena location really has done a huge disservice to this business, not because of changing policy (again, communicate it normally and there wouldn't be a problem), but because of the awful service- as you can see from the last review, it is already losing customers. read more
